Torch says that Nigel got tired of waiting for WWE to finalize the deal and wanted to start making money now. Cadwell suggests it's likely a mistake on John Laurenitis' part. Too busy looking at those swimsuit magazines...

It would be good for TNA if they got one or the other.

From Meltzer on the F4W board.
Don't criticize WWE for this. Hopefully I can write the story in detail by tomorrow but all the key elements are still off the record. Suffice to say it's very different than being reported.
Bryan not part of this deal.
Also, there will be plenty more at TV tonight.

Prowrestling.net is reporting that Nigel McGuiness is backstage at the TNA tapings today, and that Bryan Danielson may be on his way to the company as well. Apparently, they had agreed IN PRINCIPLE to WWE deals, but WWE may have dragged its feet and took their sweet time in signing them. Damnit!

As far as im aware from speaking to those who are 'in' with Nigel the deal was only agreed 'in principal' as stated before and they were ironing things out but had verbally agreed. They may only be at the tapings visiting as they could be in Florida with WWE, or they could be working! We shall see..

I know Regal was really pulling for him to come in.

Were this back during the Monday Night Wars, you know the WWF would have gotten this deal done.
They've become lax.

Good grief, the story of Johnny Ace's career continues. I just hope Nigel knows what he's doing... Based on what Meltzer is saying it sounds like the problem was on Nigel's end and that WWE didn't screw up anything. Looks to me that TNA people are floating around stories to spin this into WWE dropping the ball and TNA stealing someone out from under WWE.

If this is true its bad news for WWE. WWE made it work with CM Punk who came from ROH. He seems to be the future of the WWE at this point and it would have made WWE's future look more relevant with more athletic ROH types in the fold.
THis feels like the Radicalz heading to WWE.
I guess we have many more years of Orton, HHH, and Cena.

TNA have given him a name. Dylan Wolfe. What'd they do, drive over to FCW and borrow the randomized generic name generator used for the developmental talent?

hmm I'm going to say this, Nigel saw the British Invasion was probably pitched it during his negotiations, and now sees how they were pushed. got tired of waiting for WWE and went to TNA. No skin off WWE's back they have Burchil, McYntire, and Sheamus all on the roster so they have the Uk covered.
Danielson will be in WWE, no doubts from me. He's got too much going for him, when he goes to ECW he'd be built slowly. Though there is Tyler Reks...

So, Nigel's biggest contribution to WWE history remains jobbing to Danny Basham on Heat.

TNA have given him a name. Dylan Wolfe. Take it back. TAKE IT BACK!!! Epic fail, already. Now, now. Maybe it's not that bad. Maybe they'll give him a Tom Wolfe gimmick and he'll dress in all white like a southern dandy and his finisher will be renamed the Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test. That's money right there.

Nigel to TNA is confirmed by PWInsider. How WWE could screw this up is amazing. "WWE screwed up? Surely you jest." They may only be at the tapings visiting as they could be in Florida with WWE, or they could be working! We shall see.. SPOILER:According to PWInsider, Nigel made his debut by attacking Kurt Angle backstage, and the two later had either a match or a brawl in the ring
