I don't see why everyone was thinking he'd end up being Nigel McGuiness in the WWE...you KNOW they'd change his name to something even worse than what TNA is giving him. Um....CM Punk became Cm Punk in the WWE. Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuiness have been established names for a while and in the top ten of the PWI 500. They want to showcase name talent, not have to start from the ground up. |

Someone on Twitter claimed that McGuinness/Wolf failed Wellness and that's why WWE didn't sign him, but I haven't confirmed that.

I was looking forward to McGuiness, atleast there won't be the constant bitching about how he's not being used properly though.

It wasn't drugs. Which makes sense.. He came back from torns biceps probably way too soon plus there are the concussions... Which might be a problem for Danielson too if it more about the concussion damage that WWE pass on McGunniess. |

What kind of name or nickname is ArmDrag? Is this a joke? If so, I suggest we start calling ALL wrestlers by the name of a boring move. I propose Orton become RestHold.
Also, wtf is Nigel's new name? I'm 2 pages in and nobody is talking!!!

When I said Wellness, I didn't mean drugs exclusively. Wellness tests your health and general ability to perform as well. It was undergoing the test that led to WWE discovering MVP's heart condition that would have killed him otherwise.
Danielson passed the test, and he'll be signing for WWE.

New TNA wrestler Nigel McGuinness told his new coworkers at the TNA Impact tapings that he was able to sign with the company because WWE took too long finalizing the contract. However, Dot Net has confirmed reports that he failed WWE's prescreening test. As such, WWE pulled their verbal offer and never offered him an actual contract.
This was not a case of Nigel failing a drug test. Rather, all indications are that it was a medically related test that caused WWE to shy away. TNA does not have a prescreening process for their talent. While Nigel opted not to reveal the true story to the wrestlers in the locker room, it's unclear whether he shared this information with TNA management before he signed his new deal.
Obviously, there is no heat on WWE senior vice president of talent relations John Laurinaitis over this matter as I theorized there could have been the case yesterday. At the time, the only information I had was based on the story that Nigel was sharing other wrestlers.
