Hold the phone everyone. Remember Shane was in never any position to take over all of the WWE Universe. He is the Executive Vice President of Global Media... He did not leave because of HHH, Steph, Vince, Linda, or WWE product.
Sigh, I love how everyone goes into doomsday theories on why he left. Just wait in see as he explores the world outside of the WWE.

Well he could not like the direction that Trips & Steph would take once there in charge and he wanted to get out of there before it became a mess and in his mind WWE losing money. So there is a chance, a small one, but still there in my opinion.

I thought part of the condition of him leaving was that he HAD to sell all of his stock.

But then again, I'd say there's a very good chance there has been some long-simmering tension behind the scenes and it's finally led to Shane seeking out a new opportunity. This is great, because it seems like I'm only interested in wrestling when the backstage crap is hitting the fan. I mean, the backstage crap is hitting the Universe.

The MMA talk sounds very reasonable. It's something Shane allegedly loves and the sport is so hot right now that, if done right, it would be a great financial move.
I also wouldn't be surprised if he ended up working in another wrestling company. It's something he knows very well, and again, if done right, would be a huge financial success. Imagine Shane O'Mac and Easy E. joining forces to start a new wrestling promotion? That would excite me more than anything in wrestling has excited me in a long, long time.

If there is anyone who can figure out how to take wrestling and MMA and have them co exist, its Shane. Whether its starting some new company, taking an existing one and making it MMA-esque without also losing the appeal of wrestling, whatever. Shane has a good mind and I hope he ends up somewhere he can utilize it.

JR has commented about Shane leaving in his blog looks like a lot of people in the WWE have been taken by suprise. www.ewrestlingnews.com/stories/Jim_Ross_Comments_On_Shane_McMahons_WWE_Depar.shtmlMy own opinion is that Shane was in a power game against Trips and Steph and lost. You dont have to look to hard to read between the lines in his statement to see he doesnt want to go but is being made too. I guess Trips has finally got what he wanted back from the Clique days. Full and complete power. I bet he and his buddy Shawn are drinking the champange as we speak.

Personally I think amongst the fantasy booking going on amongst this thread, that the guy has as they have said, decided to see if he can run A business (not necessarily Sports related) that isn't his parents'.
He'll probably end up in about 10-20 years, once he got this out of his system in the role that Linda held until recently. I doubt any kind of power struggle between him & Steph would be likely

I find it funny how this thread has turned into a 'OMGZ Trips and Steph have forced Shane out' thread. We dont know so stop speculating to fit your own mould about what happened.

But that's what makes the discussion fun. All we have is speculation at this point, so we might as well run with it and explore all of the possibilities. It's not as if we're journalists who should make sure every reply is fact checked for accuracy.

It's not as if we're journalists who should make sure every reply is fact checked for accuracy. Some people will bitch and complain no matter what you do, though. Like I said earlier, this is the stage at which all we CAN do is throw out our nonsense conspiracy theories, and our speculations. We've got nothing else, and it harms nothing to take guesses at what's gone down.

As a pure speculation, maybe he is doing that as a part of the family? What if the McMahons decide that they could branch out into MMA as well, and Shane is the best guy to expand their business in that field?
MMA, apparently, makes money, and Shane thinks it's the next big thing. I certainly see him being given a certain amount of money to invest in it, possibly making his own fed. He gets something important to do, and La Familia hedges their bets in case things go downhill (and probably makes more money). Remember the rumors that people at Titan Towers were being shocked a MMA show had beat RAW for ratings? Maybe it's not a coincidence that a big MMA buff leaves the company soon afterwards, one way or the other.

I'm shocked, I wonder why...hopefully it isn't a family rift or anything. I'm guessing we'll still see him on TV from time to time.

To be honest I don't think he's going to work for his mother, lets just say the late Katie Vick has come back to haunt Linda.
MMA's a hot commodity right now so I wouldnt be surprised if I see him venture in that.
Speaking of family rift, wasnt there some argument between him and Steph over the now infamous 'Industry News' section over on WWE.com?

Hmmm...ever heard of books and documentaries??? Nobody on Earth was around during the time of the Civil War, but there are people out there who seem to know an awful lot about it. I read about wrestling often and my viewing habits are not limited to watching fanfics on YouTube like some wrestling fans. The general consensus is that Shane and Vince Sr. are well respected and Vince Jr. is not --- why is that a concept that is so difficult to grasp, and why does it evoke such rancor from you? I don't get people on this board sometimes...
