But that's what makes the discussion fun. All we have is speculation at this point, so we might as well run with it and explore all of the possibilities. It's not as if we're journalists who should make sure every reply is fact checked for accuracy. Some people will bitch and complain no matter what you do, though. Like I said earlier, this is the stage at which all we CAN do is throw out our nonsense conspiracy theories, and our speculations. We've got nothing else, and it harms nothing to take guesses at what's gone down. That's been my point. I'm actually disappointed the discussion has been so down to earth so far. So while we wait for some real news, lets link every newz item we see and post our wildest speculations. I was hopping for a board meltdown, but I guess that's only possibly about affairs concerning Mickie's weight.

It's a shame Shane's stepping away, as he's always been the most consistently entertaining of the family McMahon (and certainly the most tolerable), but hey, more power to him if he wants to pursue something else. I've had a feeling for the last few years that Shane's heart really wasn't into the business side of wrestling that much anymore. I am surprised he's leaving the company outright, but I'm not all that shocked. Maybe he wants to spread his wings and not be under his father's shadow anymore. Who knows his reasons. I just wish him all the best in whatever he does next, and that he's amazingly successful at it.

I just don't know why we can't discuss the possibility of tension in the McMahon clan as being a reason the first born child is leaving the family business. It's not negativity for the sake of being negative. It's deductive reasoning based on years of following this company as fans.
But just to liven this discussion up: Shane McMahon left because he was repulsed by how fat Mickie has gotten.

It might be a deal where Shane it at a crossroad in his life and wants to go a direction that he would not be able to get in the WWE. When I was in college there were two age groups pretty much. The first one was people from about 17-25 who were just out of high school and starting their own lives. The second group was those in their 40s who had jobs but were wanting a change in career. When you study age groups in psychology one thing you hit in the 40s is questioning whether you are happy with what you are doing or do you need a change.
If Shane winds up in charge of another wrestling company or even an MMA company the WWE had better look out. He would know exactly where the weaknesses are in the WWE better than anyone else and would take advantage of that.

Shane left because he was tricked by Hunter and Steph into sitting through ''Meet the Spartans'' Fixed. Besides, Uwe Boll >>>>>>> Seltzer/Friedberg! Back on topic, here, in TVTropes.com, it's called "Unpleasable Fanbase". The IWC are NEVER happy.

The way I see it:
Shane wouldn't have left his (good) job/position in a corporation he was practically born into if he didn't have a damn good reason.
And that is NOT negativity for negativity's sake. That's a theory based on deductive reasoning, which is all any of us have to go on.

Shane left because he was tricked by Hunter and Steph into sitting through ''Postal'' But what was the breaking point... ...the scattered plot? ...the seriously inappropiate humor? ...full frontal Dave Foley?

It's a shame that he left but I don't think it has anything to do with power struggles. I think he simply wants to pursue other interests. I don't think starting an MMA promotion or even his own wrestling promotion is out of the question, or hey maybe he wants to buy sports team, anything is possible. I wish the guy nothing but the best.
