Well, do they?
Would they need to pull out the shock of all shocks like maybe getting Sting to sign a contact with them for the attention to be shifted back onto them?

I think you overestimate the immediate impact of Hogan in TNA.
It's something to keep an eye on, it's NOT something to push the Big Red Button over yet.
Believe it or not, most things take time to develop.

Oh I know that, but the whole wrestling word is on TNA at the moment & not WWE which Vince won't be to happy about so that's why am suggesting will they/do they need to counteract this.

Most people don't understand this... but sometimes the best thing you can do is LET somebody hog the spotlight. But Val, that's stupid! What would you WANT your competition to stand alone in the spotlight?
Because more often than not, when the little dog in the fight does something crazy to get in the spotlight, they shoot themselves in the foot so many times that they destroy themselves without your help. So what if TNA handles it right and takes off? We'll see when we get there. I would like to see the WWE get a little pressure on them. But I gotta be realistic and play the wait and see card.

Yeah I doubt WWE will do anything drastic. Isn't there a new Hogan DVD coming out? Vince might pull that so hogan doesn't get any fat royalty checks, but I doubt even that.

No, they don't need to. Why? Eventually, TNA will trip over its own feet and somehow find a way to make this stunt fail.

But what if they don't?
Will we all be sitting here in a years time saying WWE should have done something?
Once upon a time everyone dismissed WCW and look what happened, if TNA play their cards right it could be BIG.

TNA does NOT have a history of capitalizing on BIG NAME signings. Remember how Kurt Angle and Sting were supposed to make TNA big stuff? Their ratings went from 1.1 to..... 1.1. Then there was Foley, OMG FOLEY TO TNA..... 1.1. RUSSO TO TNA, RESTART ATTITUDE ERA!!!11!!!! ......... 1.1 Sometimes it's the wrong decision, but hindsight is 20/20.

I think TNA could get the resurrected Buddha on Impact and it wouldn't make 1.4.

I think TNA could get the resurrected Buddha on Impact and it wouldn't make 1.4. Hey, in the past, I would've said that about them getting a 1.3. Years later and they must have at least...3 1.3-rated shows! 7 more years and they might even hit 1.5!

I think this is much ado about nothing. TNA's ratings history has shown that no matter what they do, they can't attract and keep new viewers. They keep trying the old formula of adding talent that's well-known in the wrestling world of the 90s, and some of the audience that watched in the 90s shows up to have a lookie-loo for a couple of weeks, and then loses interest when they see all the gray hair and diminished performance capacity that comes with the passing of 10 years. Hogan is no different. TNA's ratings will be back on the fast track to 1.1 again as soon as Hogan steps in the ring. Incidentally, I saw him wear that exact same pink T shirt and bandana on Larry King. Is that going to be his new color scheme?

I don't think they need to do anything to counter Hogan. Hogan's best days are clearly behind him. I doubt he'll have much of an impact. If TNA signed Rock, that would be different.

And TNA becoming BIG is a bad thing? If it happened, it would be bad for the E. It would only be bad for the WWE if TNA only got bigger by taking fans of the WWE. But that is not likely to be the case. For one thing, this is not a zero sum game where the gain of one side is the loss of the other. Both can grow simultaneously. That is to say if TNA creates more interest in wrestling and brings in new fans that does not hurt the WWE and it could actually help because those new fans may want to watch more wrestling than just TNA. Making the product more successful is helpful for all selling the product. Second of all, even if TNA's success came solely from fans of the WWE, the two companies are not in competition right now. They don't hold PPVs or TV shows at the same time so it is very possible in every way to follow both without choosing between them.
