Also, it has been revealed that, no joke, some of the footage from the Millwall and West Ham "riots" were just clips from the hooligan film "The Firm" which were ceremoniously thrown around all the national news stations and police enquiries as legitimate footage. It truly is a beautiful game. I was reading about that the other day. I mean, did the Police not notice that some of the pictures of hooligans were taken with a lighting rig?

Heh, I soiomehow missed that earlier.
That's utterly ridiculous. Did the press start circulating it first or did the police send it to the press as crime analysis? Cause if its the former that's pretty despicable by the media, and if it's the latter it's unbelivably daft by the cops.

Shay Given proving his immenseness tonight - saving a big Birmingham penalty. You'd sense now that Citeh will win this.

Since we're having a debate on Hull here seemingly, I'll just lay down a few viewpoints:
1. It was in my opinion a penalty. He shoved him over. Maybe it was a soft penalty - but if you don't want to give away soft penalties, don't commit fouls inside the box.
2. The free kick should NOT have stood. The fact the player was shoved made no difference to the free kick, but once again it was a foul. I can understand why Hull fans might feel agrieved, but the man to blame for this is not the ref - it's Olofinjana.
3. Geovanni deservedly was sent off. He was stupid with the first booking, and unlucky with the second. He showed dissent and was correctly booked. I really wish this rule was enforced more frequently and more consistently, because it's blatantly obvious that had he played for a different team he MIGHT have stood a better chance of getting away with it. Second one, he slipped, but he still fouled him, and so it's still a booking.
On a non-match related note, you've all noted how Brown has put Hull massively in debt. To add to that, he has spent plenty of money in the transfer windows on players. A lot of the players he has signed he has proceeded to fall out with. He literally must have had bust ups with atleast 10 players in just over a year, and I sincerely doubt it is always the players at fault given the amount of times it has happened. Most of the players who have been sold on have took digs at him (and he's taken digs at them too), as well as Daniel Cousin who thought he was leaving, and I think Jozy Altidore made some comments on his Twitter leading to a fall out, and well... Paul McShane coming off the pitch the other day didn't look best pleased either.
To conclude, 3 wins in 2009 is appalling and how Brown has kept his position this long is beyond me.

No, a picture showing a hand in contact with someones chest does not mean that a push is occurring. Not saying that the guy wasn't fouled, but that photo proves not a lot. I suppose you;'re right about that. But I still believe it was a push and a foul. Hard decision but I think the ref got it right. And I can't work out who Red Lion's comment is directed at. I know it's in reply to spagett but I can't work out if it's making fun of me, spagett or the Arsenal camera debacle. It's Arsenal, I just haven't made a slippery pitch comment in a while. I haven't seen the incident myself, so I cannot judge.

Yeah. Cousin thought he was signnig for us. He'd even announced to the world media he'd signed for us- until Brown said no so we signed Nugent instead. Was very strange.
Although, to be fair to Brown in 1 case, hsi bgi money transfer that he hoped would secure survival comfortably for Hull-Jimmy bullard- got injured on his debut and is still not fully fit. Horrendous timing, but it's a good advert for not putting all your eggs in 1 basket.
Speaking of transfers, rumours are Everton intend to try to sign Eagles again in January. After yesterday's performance I could not name a price for him- he looked like he could be our player of the season.

Great win for us yesterday, nice to get a win over Spurs after last season's disaster at home. Spurs still haven't beaten us in the league for 10 years and no win over us in the league this Century, or indeed at all this decade.
Almost missed the 2nd goal, still standing up celebrating the first goal. The place went mental after Fabregas scored.
Now hopefully we can win on Wednesday which should insure qualification for the 2nd Round of the Champions League. AZ looked a poor side two weeks ago hopefully we can actually finish them off this time.

You forgot that Spurs haven't beaten you in the league this Millenium either. O of course how silly of me ;D What was it Robbie Keane said in the papers this week? Something along the lines of "We're as good as Arsenal now" I think it was. Ok We'll see if Spurs can actually keep it up but yesterday they weren't as good as us at all. Pompy probably would have given us a harder game yesterday.

I know over the last 10 years Arsenal have been miles ahead of Tottenham but you would think in ten years Tottenham must have been able to get one or two wins. I mean prior to hitting the jackpot Man City were rubbish and light years away from Utd and yet they claimed Derby wins all the time. Why are Tottenham so awful in this fixture?

This happens a lot with derbies. Burnley nearly always lose to Preston at Deepdale yet usually win at Turf Moor. And nearly always lose to Blackburn- weh aven't beaten them in a league derby in god knows how long, well over 10 years.
Speaking of Portsmouth, what the hell happened with them yesterday? Been utterly awful all season yet whip Wigan 4-0.

This is something like 23 games in a row that Arsenal have gone unbeaten and for the last 10 years they have been in the same division. I imagine Burnley and Blackburn have been in the same league twice in ten years? So it's not really the same. As for Portsmouth, yeah a big shock that. Apparantly they have been playing well all season and just not getting the breaks but still to beat what looks like a decent Wigan team is a suprise.

Seen the highlights of the Burnley/Hull game now. Don't think it was a penalty at all. The guy fell over.
Was hard to see what happened at the freekick as they only showed it once. Was never a freekick in the first place though anyway.
The second yellow card was a definite yellow card for me, so he can have no real complaints there.

The simple fact is that they still treat us as their big game, our big games are Chelsea and Manchester United, and maybe Liverpool if they're challenging. So that's just Chelsea and United this season...

No matter what league/level you're at Spurs will always be your rivals.

I stand by initial statement. In 10 years time when atleast one of them has dropped down to midtable level they'll not all be your rivals.
Newcastle challenged for the top spots on a number of occasions in recent years, but I don't think that makes Manchester United for instance our main rival ahead of Sunderland or Middlesbrough.
But eh... each to their own.

In Steveweisers defense if we played City twice a season for over 10 years and they failed to beat us once the Derby would lose meaning and importance to me too. Tottenhams shoddy derby record is to blame. The Man Utd Arsenal feud is not what it was though. I remember for a brief period when it almost replaced the Liverpool game as the one I looked forward to/dreaded the most. There was a point when I hated Arsenal more than any other team but it has passed. I think even if Liverpool get relegated to league 2 and never win anything again I will still always consider them as our biggest rivals.
