Are you writing off Aquilani? You are correct in saying there is no strength in depth, but that's not necessarily the manager's fault. The owners have failed to put the money (or loaned money) in at least the last four windows and a decline is only going to be natural then. Still think however a fully fit Liverpool first eleven is better than United's. Aquilani could be the next Maradonna. However if his injury records carries on as it has the last 3 or 4 years then it won't matter. He won't be winning you game from the sidelines. As for Liverpool having a better 11 than Utd I don't agree but you are entitled to your opinion. Luckily football these days is about having a good squad and Liverpool's is weaker than the rest of the top 4 and probably Tottenham and City's as well.

Whats everyone's opinions of Newcastle's new(ish) ground name? sportsdirect.com @ St James' Park Stadium. In my opinion, it shows that compromises never work and how corporate the game is, but if Newcastle need the money then so be it

In my opinion, it shows that compromises never work and how corporate the game is, but if Newcastle need the money then so be it I don't like it but in this day and age, change is sometimes necessary. I have a lot of respect for both the club and the fans of Newcastle and to see that great stadium lose it's name is sad. I'm not going to be happy when Liverpool move and no longer play at Anfield but we need a bigger ground and it's impossible to increase Anfield any more. We need to be able to compete financially with Arsenal and Man Utd and to do that we need a 60,000+ capacity stadium. (lthough that probably won't be for another decade or so!)

Kazan and Barcelona tied at 0-0 through the first half. No way this happens again, is there?

Samir Nasri starts against AZ Alkmaar - hoping for a really good game from him tonight.

Barca draw 0 - 0
Rangers are playing young Danny Wilson today, only his 3rd game for the club too but he seems good from what I've seen of him

It's Mike Ashley's own company sponsoring it. A company to whom we owe money because he, contrary to popular belief, didn't eradicate any debt. He just placed it all on himself basically. He's doing this, like he has many other things, simply to wind up the Newcastle fans - to much success. The stadium name is ridiculous and I think I speak for most NUFC fans when I say I won't be calling it by that disgusting name that Ashley has put on it. Wonder what Mike is gonna pull out of his bag of tricks next at this rate.

It's only until the end of the season, when they'll be getting a longer term name.
Arsenal 1-0 up through Fabregas.

I always find renaming grounds to be ridiculous. The St. James Park stuff is an utter farce.

Since I was last on, it's now 4-0 Arsenal.
And crowd trouble for Rangers in Romania. They certainly don't need that with all their financial problems.

On a more positive note
Gers go 1 - 0 up after a mistake by the keeper

What a strike by Ryan Babel. Liverpool go a goal up with 6 minutes left.

Lyon get another injury time goal against Liverpool. When you're having a bad run, nothing seems to go your way.

Liverpool are five points behind Fiorentina - they need to beat Debrecen, and hope that Fiorentina drop points to Lyon. As Lyon are through, I don't see the latter happening.

To be fair, Rangers are 3 points behind UU, and could get something against Stuttgart at home. I wouldn't rule them out completely just yet.

Babel with a Nani special and then they concede in 90+ minutes. It was a rubbish game in fairness and Lyon were way too protective because they only needed a point.
Oh and would commentators please climb out of Fernado's ass please? I mean he is a good player but people bum him so much it puts the ESPN Favre fest to shame.

We've lost our cable TV for the forseeable future, so I won't actually be able to watch any more A-League matches for a while.
Anyway, here's a result from last night...
Wellington Phoenix 3 (Brown 27', Greenacre 55', Ifill 90+1') - Newcastle Jets 0
