RIP Robert Enke. I'd been hearing a fair bit about him over the last couple years and heard he was a very good keeper. Such a shame he couldn't get the help he needed for the depression.
On a lighter note- the chavs are indeed still to the right of the away end at City. I was on the very end of the 2nd nearest block to them, so again, plenty of duelling chants. Nice moment when the Burnley fans chanted "If you beat Man U stand up" causing the Burnley fans to stand, with City replying with "If you hate Man United clap your hands" Causing the entrire stadium, Burnley and City fans alike, to clap and chant that on and off for about 10 minutes.

I just mean to say that hopefully the next player to say they're suffering from depression get treated with compassion and respect rather than ridicule. I wholeheartedly agree. I mean, you just have to remember Sebastian Deisler - it's quite obvious this problem is bigger than it's talked about. That's the problem with football - homosexuality, being different and also being weak is simply not allowed as it seems.

Couple of bits of news today - the Premier League have rejected a proposal to admit Celtic and Rangers into the league, and Frank Lampard is out of England's friendly with Brazil in Qatar on Saturday.

In more news, Sir Alex Ferguson has been given a £20k fine and a four game touchline ban, two of them suspended, for questioning Alan Wiley's fitness against Sunderland. He will miss the home game against Everton and the trip to Portsmouth.
In sadder news, despite him being a Tottenham player, Carlo Cudicini broke his wrists and injured his pelvis in a motorbike crash.

I'd have thought you'd have realised by now that almost all non-Man U fans dislike Man U. I respect the style of football Man U play, but a combination of spending to success and a number of divers/thugs throughout their ranks, as well as Ferguson's manner in recent years, have made me lose a lot of time for United. Ferguson's been getting worse than ever with his comments but 3 incidents concerning Man U and Burnley directly are why I dislike United. 1) John Cofie. We signed him aged 13 or so, tipped to be an absolute wonderkid. United make him an offer, he says he wants to go, and because of his age all we can get is £200k for him when he was worth far more on potential alone. 2) Man U vs Burnley in the Carling Cup a few years back. Man U striker, I forget who, possily Vassell, is loitering in the Burnley half when Burnley get a corner while 1-0 down. Every Burnley player bar the keeper pushes up into the opposition half. Ball cleared, striker gets it and scores but was so blatantly offside it was untrue. Nearest player to him was I think Kevin Ball, who was still in the United half, but the Man U guy runs on and scores. 3) Richard Eckersley. We sign him from United when he's out of contract and Fergie kicks up a big moan how we've signed a player off him that he wanted to keep, and is asking for £2m for him from tribunal (again due to age-based mandatory fees). Tribunal not yet settled but it'll probably be closer to Fergie's price than ours. Few years ago, when Stan was our gaffer, Fergie was different. He was willing to loan us some youngsters who clearly wouldn't get into the United team, even if the above offisde thing happened. But then when Stan left Fergie changed towards us, and while he will still speak positively of us he acts more than a little hypocritical, as evidenced by the above transfer deals involving Cofie and Eckersley. Those 3 incidents plus the thuggery/diving from the likes of Rooney and Ronaldo are why I hold a dislike for Man U. Talented? Yes. Good football? Yes. But buyers of success with a slightly unpleasant side to them.

Carry on hating.

Don't worry, I'd imagine most will.
Still, I prefer Man U over Cardiff, Sheffield United, Leeds and Newcastle on my disliked teams list (The latter 2 more for the boardroom than anything else, but Revie's dirty-minded Leeds era is a factor too. Newcastle I disliked ever since their old chairman for some of his lower leagues comments, if Mike Ashley left I might warm to them).
And shame about Cudicini, I really hope he pulls through but with the extent of his injuries I sadly doubt he'll recover. Been a bad week for goalkeepers.

So much dislike from people in here towards other teams! Can't we all just... get along?! Sorry for that AA. Every team I dislike, there's a reason behind it. For 3 teams, the reasons are fixable. For Man U it almost is- would just need the iffy dealings to even out. For another team, its not so fixable. Cardiff- its Darren Purse literally ripping a hole in Andy Cole's leg, only to get away with it because the Welsh FA wanted Purse,as Cardiff captain, to play for Cardiff in the FA Cup Final, while in all likelihood forcing Cole into early retirement. I dislike how Cardiff got out of it, I dislike Darren Purse even more for the act itself. Sheffield United- its partly that they have a history of being dirty under Neil Warnock, partly that last season Chris Morgan stamped on Robbie Blake trying to injure his ankle, and partly that in the buildup to Wembley Kevin Blackwell openly tried to manipulate the referee into favouring his side. I've never liked Blackwell and heard a few stories about him when he was assistant manager at Sheffield United, he's definitely got a win-at-all-costs, cheat-if-you-can mentality. If Blackwell left and a decent manager came in, and Morgan left, I'd have no ill will towards Sheffield. Leeds- partly that Don Review's Leeds were vicious and dirty, partly that they tried to escape a 15 point deduction for the following year by declaring administration in the 2nd half of the last game of the season while in the relegation zone, partly that through clever manipulation they only got a 15 point deduction for owing millions despite the likes of Accy nearly going bust for owing £300k or Luton getting docked 30 points for owing much less than Leeds. If their chairman did business differently I'd mellow out in their regard. Newcastle- their owners. If Ashley left and they finally ogt a decent bloke as chairman I'd have a lot of time for Newcastle. Well, if they also sacked Joey Barton. Teams like Preston I don't actually dislike. I just dislike how they always get jammy penalties or we get absurd red cards against them. I'd like Preston to get promoted, just would hope that the officiating stopped being so unlucky for us.

Frank Lampard is out for a few weeks due to the injury he picked up in England training, which crucially rules him out of the Arsenal game in a couple of weeks. I like our odds more after seeing that news.

T&C I don't mind if you dislike NUFC. That's your perogative. I find it kinda amusing though that you hate NUFC primarily due to Mike Ashley and Freddy Shepherd who 99% of NUFC fans also can't stand. Same with Joey Barton actually to be fair.

For those bored out of their minds and won't sleep for a few hours, Bahrain/New Zealand kicks off in an hour from Wellington. It's the second leg of the OFC/AFC playoff. The teams drew 0-0 last month in Bahrain.
