New Zealand wins 1-0 and are going to the World Cup for the first time since 1982.
The Kiwi keeper saved a PK in the 2nd half and saved a header right at the very end.

Would be quite the irony if New Zealand are drawn in the same group as Australia.

Nigeria have qualified with a 3-2 win over Kenya, while Tunisia lost away to Mozambique.
In terms of Northern Ireland, David Healy has been dropped from the starting XI. This is the first time he hasn't made the starting XI for a home match when he has been available for selection, and his first non-start in general since 2004. My thoughts? It's about damn time. The guy has gone downhill since he left Leeds United. He needs to be getting regular playing time or he's never gonna rediscover his old form. He scored 1 goal in 10 qualifiers - that was against San Marino. It'll be interesting to see what Feeney and Lafferty can do as a tandem from the start.

Scotland 3-0 down to Wales after 34 minutes. And we wonder why we couldn't qualify for the World Cup.

Not only that but Wales should have had a stonewall penalty, and Marshall should have seen red. This could easily be 5 by now. I'm stunned.

T&C I don't mind if you dislike NUFC. That's your perogative. I find it kinda amusing though that you hate NUFC primarily due to Mike Ashley and Freddy Shepherd who 99% of NUFC fans also can't stand. Same with Joey Barton actually to be fair. Heh. Sheppard cause he made derogoratory comments a few years back saying that "teams like Burnley dont ever deserve to be in the Premier League" and that it should be a closed shop league based on money. Ashley just cause he's a prat and has ruined the name of 1 of the older stadiums in the country. Barton cause he's a thug who ought to be banned. And the Scotland game is indeed a disappointment. Might be worth recalling Graham Alexander based on this, cause the idea of building a team for the future doesnt seem to be working at the moment.

Its not the idea of building a team for the future thats failed, its the man doing the building You take 3 players from a s****y defence, one that lost 3 goals to Falkirk, and you put them in an international team and s**t is gonna happen You get a striker who is high on confidence and scored 3 goals in his last 5 Prem games (I think) and leave him on the bench to start with whilst Miller who is lacking confidence esp. @ international level starts the attack And guys like Don Cowie & Kevin Kyle should never be international players I know it seems like I'm ranting cause I'm upset but I'm not really cause I half-expected this I've tried to support Burley but you can't no more, guy has to go............course the SFA will do SFA about it I bet and we'll get crushed in 2012 qualifying

Plus had an assist or 2. Don Cowie is an odd one. He seems like he could be a good player but just doesn't quite seem to turn it on. And even if Riordan's back from his international exoddus Burley needs to get over the Boyd fiasco and recall him. Best striker Scotland have. Burley leaving would be for the best but I'd be afraid Coyle would replace him. Even if Coyle did manage 2 teams as he's said he would, I think 1 would suffer for it-probably Burnley. Still, I reckon we'd suddenly have around 6 Scottish Internationals.

England today were tidy at the back, in the main, but we got caned, we really did. Poor service to Bent, and then Defoe and Crouch. Rooney looked lively all game, credit to him, and Lescott did well. Other than one crucial block (which looked accidental) Wes Brown was well below par, and Wright-Phillips and Milner was disappointing. We didn't have a win in us.

Northern Ireland 0-1 Serbia FT.
I thought we played really well tonight. We certainly created plenty of chances - more than they did. We were definitely the better side in the first half, but our major problem as it has been for ages, is no goalscorer. In saying that Feeney and Lafferty had some good chances in the first half, but as I say, just couldn't put those chances away.
Second half, Serbia came into it a lot more. They started causing our defence some problems (although I thought our defenders had a good game for the most part too honestly). They were a lot more clinical, and they reaped the rewards. The goal they got was very well worked, and I can't really deride the defenders for it too much.
Warren Feeney, Kyle Lafferty, David Healy and Andy Kirk are not gonna get you too many goals. That's the problem. We had Martin Paterson and Jamie Ward missing too, which never helps. Jamie Ward, for me, would be the man to start games from now on alongside Kyle Lafferty, with Feeney and Paterson on the bench. Sorry Healy, but until you start playing regularly you're not going to be effective!
Niall McGinn got man of the match today - can't argue with that one bit. The lad was excellent. Worked his arse off and created chances that most teams would put away.
In conclusion, thoroughly enjoyable match other than the end result. The lads played well against what is a good team.

Robin van Persie damaged his ankle ligaments for the Netherlands against Italy last night, and could be out for a couple of months. Just as well other Arsenal players are scoring, and this injury won't be so devastating to us as injuries to, say, Drogba, Torres or Rooney.

Only problem is our other strikers aren't scoring, but then Bendtner and Eduardo have both been injured recently. And Van Persie's been awesome lately.

While it's the right decision, I'm worried about who we get to replace him. Souness doesn't want the job, and I can't think of anyone else available who can do a better job than Burley.

Yeah when I read on Sunday they were having a meeting I started to believe.........and now it's happened I really don't try to take joy from someone losing their job but we were so bad under his leadership that he needed to go I'd like to see Walter doing a Guus Hiddink and do both jobs regardless of how much longer he'd be with Gers Wouldn't mind Levein but I doubt he'd leave Dundee Utd at this point
