I look at the list of teams who've qualified and I'm really glad Scotland aren't going. We'd be embarrassed no matter who we got drawn against. It's a really good standard of teams, should make for an entertaining tournament for the neutral (I'll be supporting anyone England are playing against).

A major shock, as Slovenia go through, knocking Russia out 2-2 on aggregate via away goals.

Looks like we've just had The Hand of God 2, as the ref misses a blatant Thierry Henry handball, and William Gallas scores to possibly knock Ireland out of the World Cup. Worst refereeing decision ever.

Blatant cheat.
Henry for some reason has this reputation for being a nice guy when in actual fact he used to dive with the best of them and is porbably the most arrogant player I have ever seen.
Hopefully this display of blatant cheating helps others see him in a new light.
Feel sorry for the Irish, more than deserved to get through.

And that's it - France cheat their way to the World Cup. There is no way I can post my true feelings on this right now without breaking forum rules/getting banned/having a bunch of asterisks dominating the post so I'll instead I'll hand it over to Picard who can sum it up my feelings with one action much better than a long winded and profane post from myself.

When was the last time France DIDN'T have controversy in the World cup? Good point - even their win in 1998 didn't pass without a few incidents, like a Zidane red card, the whole Blanc/Bilic thing and what went down with Ronaldo in the final. Even when they didn't make the 1994 finals, the whole thing was blamed on David Ginola.
