By the way, I'll need a quick answer to this one: today's New Year's deal is the direct-to-DVD movie Stargate: Continuum for 80 MS Points, which translates out to $1.00. Should I get it and review it for TGWTG? For the record, I have no idea as to what Stargate is about; I've never seen a second of it in any capacity. Stargate................is not a movie worth watching, trust me. In fact, it's bad enough that NC should probably review it. So yes, definitely review that straight-to-DVD Stargate movie. ................of course, that's if you plan on actually posting a new review again.

The original stargate movie isn't that bad... while watching it.
it's only afterwords when you reflect on what you watch that it starts unraveling. It's a lot like modern warfare 2 in that regard, in that when you play it you think the single player experience is awesome. But when you finish playing it and think about the plot you realize that you just played the dumbest game ever created.

I have preordered the collector's edition of Mass Effect 2. Think I'll try & beat the first one before the Jan. 26th release date.

So I just got an e-mail stating that my Gold membership will be expiring 3 January. I should be getting back from California around the 9th, and hopefully should receive the new code in the mail from Amazon. Anyone new (short of myself, Joker, MaDaBa, MC, Motley, and Ratings) have L4D2 yet? A few friends of mine from Tech might be joining us, but we need more people. I'll have it, if I get it for Christmas.

I just had an epic battle with Skagzilla in Borderlands. Beat him by myself, but it took like a half friggin hour to do it. Good thing I found that shield that regenerates your health.

It's quite possibly one of the best games I've played this decade.
Like Metroid? Like Symphony of the Night? Goodbye social life ;D
Great, thanks Ani. Looking forward to playing it over the christmas break. Anyone new (short of myself, Joker, MaDaBa, MC, Motley, and Ratings) have L4D2 yet? A few friends of mine from Tech might be joining us, but we need more people. I will have it on friday K, my wife has got it me for christmas. I loved Versus on the original so will definitely be up for a few games if you like.

Only bad thing is, almost everyone wants to do the mall level and the spitter spot has made it lame, imo. Especially when people kick a teammate just to get a CPU to take me or my teammate out.

MaDaBa knows that ALL too well (at least on the Parish stage with the horse statue.)

Are you a gold member? Do you like Marvel Vs. Capcom 2? Have you thought "Man, 1200 points is pricey, maybe if they brought it down to say 560 I'd buy it?"
It's at 560 for today's holliday deal. It's ONLY today though.

EA has an AWESOME, imho, post-Christmas Xbox Live Marketplace sale/deal. Buy any 3 things from this list and you'll get 800 MS points. The cheapest route is to buy the two Mass Effect DLC, which is 400 points each, and either the Dragon's Age DLC listed, the AFL legacy pack for Madden 10 or Boom Boom Rocket, all 3 are 560 points each. That makes the total 1360 points, however, once you apply the 800 points you'd get back, it is only 560, or $7. I'm thinking of grabbing the Mass Effect DLC and depending on if I get Dragon's Age for Christmas or not, I'll grab either the DA DLC or Boom Boom Rocket. And then use the 800 points to get the South Park game.

Boom Boom Rocket is fun if you like music games and classical music but it does lose its appeal quick.

Yeah, it's not the worst game in the world... You'll want to buy DLC for that though. There's not many songs at first.

Also, there is a rumor that Battlefield 1943 is one of the last few 1 day only deals counting down to New Years, and it's deal would be after Christmas. The rumored price? 400 points. IF this is true, then damn it, I'll grab 1943 instead.
