Gerweck.net: - There're major articles in the top Israeli newspapers today about what WWE have in common with Sal Bonpensiero and B. Arthur. Israeli fans were promised by WWE reps in Israel that WWE would come to tour Israel if the fans help keep WWE on Israeli television. The fans kept their end of the bargain - WWE didn't! WWE's excuse is the "Travel Warning" issued by the Department of State (even though they ignored that same warning upon trips to Iraq and Afganistan) and that resulted in Israeli fans launching the "WWE FEARS ISRAEL" campaign, emphasizing the fact that 407,000 americans (including artists seen in the poster) came to visit Israel, especially Tel-Aviv(where the tour was scheduled to be held) during the last year. Israeli wrestling fans are calling to boycott WWE in Israel until they come here ; fans will oppose the renewal of WWE programming in Israel and will call to boycott all WWE products in the country. Fans in Israel feel that if WWE don't want them, then the fans in the holy land don't want the WWE either!

Well, that's counter-productive if they want to see WWE stuff, but whatever.

If the ratio of I'M BOYCOTTING RAW posts versus people that actually DO boycott Raw is similar to this event over in Israel, I'd say that out of 407,000 people... about 12 will actually follow through with this boycott.

If they rehire Scotty Goldman as the new Vice-President of Global Media, the problem will be solved.
C'mon, there was bound to be a Goldman joke coming sooner than later.

I like the first couple of posters in this thread completly ignored the fact that the wwe lied to a country about comming there so they could keep there shows on the air in that country.
I just find that...intresting to say the least.

On one hand, not sure if anyone's going to go through with it seeing as the product is already popular there.
On the other hand, it's a dick move not to go through with something you said you'd do if the fans demand it. And the fans have demanded it if the product is growing in popularity so logically, you can make money off of these fans by doing shows there.
I'm alot more on Isreal's side then I am on WWE's side.

I just find that...intresting to say the least. Maybe there is truth in the travel restrictions. There's a bigger American military presence in Iraq and Afganistan. Maybe they were given permission (instead of, you know, just showing up) to travel there and not given that same promise of safety in Isreal at the moment. I bet they'll be back there sooner than later if they DON'T carry out this boycott.

Maybe the fuss will get WWE to visit for damage control. That being said, I understand WWE's position. They went out of their way to to Iraq for troops, but since these trips are not mandatory(though it's not going to win you points backing out), maybe enough people just said no, they didn't want to go. If you don't have enough stars, then there's no point in going.

As someone said before, it's easier for the Iraq and Afghan trips because there is a strong American military presense. In a hotspot like Israel, I imagine a lot of stars would be wary to come there. It's a shame, though: WWE live from Israel sounds like it could be cool.

Meh, won't bother WWE one bit. THe difference between Tel Aviv, and going to armed forces bases in Afghanistan and Iraq are pretty evident.

WWE cannot afford to lose any overseas markets since they are the only things turning them a profit atm.

WWE cannot afford to lose any overseas markets since they are the only things turning them a profit atm. The thing is, I don't want to get political since it is against the rules, overseas markets are also dangerous just like I said above. If countries have conflict with the Americans, Anything remotely American would get destroyed. It's both profitable and not in some ways.

WWE needs to sign The Mighty Maccabee to regain the trust of Israel. I'm pretty sure the buzz of his 5* match with the Iron Shiek is still around somewhere...

Yes, she was part of a very successful tag team with "Jumpin' " Rue McClanahan throughout most of the 70s in the WWWF.

I don't blame them really, most of the WWE progamming sucks at the moment.
...oh wait, you meant... oh? Well, surely boycotting is the stupidest thing to do. It's hardly going to change the 'Es mind.
