Tech has basically turned on Adams. From what is being reported, he was a sub-par player, and since he couldn't play, complained to his dad, and blew everything out of proportions. There is a lot of former and current players sticking up for Leach, as well. From the looks of things, this kid is just trying to get attention. I also think that there is a dislike between Craig Adams and Leach, as Leach once called Craig like "A little league dad". I also like the part of the link posted that said people are getting bunched up over nothing, and it's furthering the "wussification of America". He was in an air conditioned closet. God knows I've been put in worse for less. I'm sure most posters here have, as well. You mean James? Yeah, I totally did. Where the hell did I get Adams from? I know it is his first name, but in my head while typing that, I was saying "Adam James". Wow. I feel doltish now...

Pfft, that's nothing, I once referred to a guy I was talking to as Steve Allen. His name was Tim Adams. You at least got in the same ballpark.

Tavita Pritchard will start at quarterback for Stanford when they take on Oklahoma in the Sun Bowl on Dec. 31.

You know, going into the game I didn't think Wisconsin had a chance. But I had forgotten that they have a QB that can actually throw decently. I figured the defense wouldn't be able to keep up with the track meet, but they did admirably. Way to set the tone for the Big Ten, even though they almost gave that game away late.

So the details of the Leach suspension basically indicate that an ESPN analyst complained that his son was sent to a shed commonly used by players to avoid the sun because he had a concussion and people who suffer from concussions should avoid direct sunlight. www.sbnation.com/2009/12/28/1222746/mike-leach-suspended-texas-tech-alamo-bowlSo it sounds like Leach was looking out for an injured player and the player didn't like it. Based on this information, I'm siding with the coach here. This doesn't sound like abuse in any stretch of the definition. Predictably, everyone I've seen talk about it on ESPN is siding with Adams, even calling for the entire staff to be fired for this. Schlereth (sp?) is going to have a lot of egg on his face if it comes out the kid was lying. Also, I imagine the heated contract negotiations that Leach had with the University last year have a role to play in them suspending Leach in such a knee-jerk fashion. If Leach leaves Tech over this, they'll go back to the obscurity they were at before Leach became coach.

Leach is anticipating that Texas Tech will fire him today - apparently he's due an $800k bonus if he's still coach tomorrow, and it will be very convenient for Texas Tech to fire him today.

And the commentator's kid still won't play. Gotta think a nasty lawsuit is brewing.

And the commentator's kid still won't play. Gotta think a nasty lawsuit is brewing. It was probably just like the Mark Mangino situation. They were looking to get rid of him for some reason, but his contract wouldn't be favorable to it, so they found another reason.

Also, you have to think that there are going to be a ton of schools going after Leach as well. You look at his body of work at Texas Tech, and it's obvious that he's a really good coach, and he knows what he's doing.
Also, two bowl games on tap for today. Bowling Green vs. Idaho and Arizona vs. Nebraska.

This really hurts Big XII alot. Leech gave the conference some good credibility. After this and KU fiasco. And Big 10 most likely taking MIZZOU. The conference looks like it might be dying. Just let the other ones carve out the conference before it fully turns to the bad part of town.
I say:
MIZZOU, Nebraska and one other go to Big OU and OKIE State go to SEC Texas, TAMU, Colorado and Utah go out west to PAC. Baylor and Tech go CUSA The rest can go either MW,MAC or whatever
