What struck me the most about the Bruins while I was watching the Winter Classic was how they seemed to spend so much time in the offensive zone, and yet do so very little with the puck once they had it. Shots didn't go near the net, dynamic plays weren't being set up, etc. Chicago is beastly this year, and that's all there is to it. I'm dying to see the Devils get their rematch with them in a few months, and hopefully, next time around, one team won't be traveling and playing the second half of a two-nighter. I want to see New Jersey vs. Chicago on a completely even playing field, regardless of what outcome it leads to. looks like you will get your wish

So, did the goal stand? I see it was waved-off. Should be, definite hand pass. A hand pass is only if you pass it to someone else, you're allowed to grab a puck from mid air and drop it to your own stick as Robbie did. The referee thought it was a high stick, but upon video review, it was deemed legal. And no, Craig Anderson is not better than Rick DiPietro. No. Alert me when Andy's an All Star. No, you can hand pass it to yourself. If the ref deemed he batted it DOWN, then it's not a hand pass, but if he had batted it forward before he contacted the puck, it's a hand pass. You can't gain territory with the puck with your hands. So you can bat it down, not forward. It's fine if the goal stood, nice goal. Just curious on the ruling that's all. But, for the record, you can hand pass it to yourself.

You can not glove it to another teammate (Unless it's in the defensive zone). The handpass rule had nothing to do with this play. Nor did high sticking, upon review. Thus, good goal.

The Bruins' should be embarrassed. I'm embarrassed as a fan. How can a team with that level of talent suck that badly? This is the most inconsistent team I've ever seen, and I've been watching the Bruins' since 93. They just suck the life out of you. Atleast when the Bruins' had nobody on the team, I could say "well, they don't have anybody, what do you expect?". I'm baffled now. In all fairness they have barely been able to have their entire team out there. Stuart, Luicic ,Bergeron,Savard, Ference,.....Im probably forgetting someone. One after another, guys are going down for weeks at a time. And everytime someone gets healthy, 2 guys do down. It doesnt completely excuse the team's play, but it absolutely is a factor.

Yes, we are saying the same thing...now. I'm trying to make the point that it could have been a hand pass if he batted the puck forward. In this case, the ref ruled he batted it down. So, we're saying the same thing. Somewhere someone asked about closing your hand on the puck. Yes, it's a minor if you close your hand on the puck and move it forward. You can catch it and drop it to your stick. The only exception is if you're in your defensive goal crease, then the other team is awarded a penalty shot. All the lines on the ice extend upwards forever.

New Jersey is going to beat up on my girlfriend team, the Bolts. Should be fun to watch, that is until I turn to the Avs who should be able to make short work of the Canes.
Also, is anyone else really impressed with the way Buffalo is playing these days?

The first instance of Ruutu and Tucker being on ice in the Hurricanes/Avalanche game, after Ruutu took Tucker out in the last time, they dropped the gloves.

Yeah, they've been getting hammered with the injury bug, but this team should be more than able to handle the challenge. It's the lack of effort that scares me. Thankfully, Savard is only going to miss 2-3 weeks, which is better than the 2-3+ months that some feared. Hopefully Lucic doesn't take too long to get back in a groove. He didn't look TOO bad for a guy who missed 30+ games this season.

Mother f***er... out shooting the Lightning by a bunch and we are down 3-0 and now the lights are malfunctioning. Maybe this is what we need to turn this game around. That or we are starting the 2nd half the same way we start the season. An ugly loss to a team that isn't that good.

I feel the same way but for the Red Wings.

So I'm going to stop predicting games here, they seem to go the exact opposite. The Avs dropping one to the Canes is not good.
Our powerplay is absolutely atrocious, I imagine Joe Sacco is going to start riding asses about that in practice. I like Ray Whitney, always have, but if our guys names Statsny, Wolski and Svatos aren't scoring, we're screwed. Our top guys aren't acting like our top guys, our third and fourth lines are the stars.

Leafs drop one against the MOTHERF------- BUFFALO SABRES. Our PP and PK have been frighteningly horrible. Coach Wilson, better get that s--- together now. At least Luke Schenn looked good tonight. 2 assists and over 20 mins. of ice time.
