I was at the Devils game last night, and nearly went stir crazy during the delay.
My first thought when half the lights went out was that the ice suddenly resembled Madison Square Garden, which I think Travis Zajac said during the postgame show.

That seemed like a cluster f*** on the Devils and NHL's part. If the rumor is true do you plan on going back Sunday or Monday if played then? Watching it on and off on TV my favorite part was when they showed the old kids team Zubrus played for and one was reading a book. Good thing he had it but who brings a book to a hockey game?

It was a mess, but, honestly, it's hard to blame the team for not being prepared for a power outage. It's a once in a ten thousand occurrence, really, and postponing a hockey game is so unheard of, outside of very, very few notable cases.
I may go back to see the finish, as I expect they'll put some deals in there to make it enticing to fans to come back to the arena to watch a half-finished game where the home team's already down 3.
I'm pretty relaxed either way about it, though, considering that, unlike the suckers in the club seats, I only paid $10 for my ticket.

blogs.northjersey.com/blogs/fireice/comments/devils_owe_their_fans_an_apology_for_leaving_them_in_the_dark/ Scathing and I agree with him. Lou is the end all be all but yesterday shows that no one knew how to delegate responsibility correctly. The Devils off ice always sucked in marketing the team and players. They never got pricing down I mean really how are they near the top of US average ticket prices, and why are the cheapest regular season tickets 35? That's unreasonable when I could reach over and touch someone who paid 25 less waiting before game time, they have 0 media presence how about a weekly segment on the Fan talking to a player even if it's with Steve Sommers at 10pm or mid day? It's sad at times. Sure they've gotten better with college nights and alot of other deals but still. They are unnecessarly tight lipped with what little media they do have.

The Boston Bruins were outshot in the 2nd period 21-to-3 at home.
That's really all I feel like saying anymore.

Next game for the Rangers is vs. the Devils at home. Yay? Well, Rangers have been hot, albeit mostly against not-so-great teams. It'll come down to if/when the Devils shut down Gaborik, how well or poorly the rest of the Rags respond.

I'm sorry, but 90% of that was absolute BS, and coming from TG, it's shocking. People want to know why Lou is so damned successful, and it's because he runs the tightest ship in the NHL. The situation last night sucked, somebody should've gotten on the PA to give some sort of update at some point, but that's not much of something to get riled up about. Now, ticket prices, fine, I could certainly argue about that, but TG just went off the friggin' deep end here.

Has anyone come up with the theory that the Devils blew the lights delibrately to get out of losing 3-0 at home to Tampa Bay?

In English football, when a game is abandoned, even if it's well in, they start the whole game again later from scratch. Bit unfair on the Devils that they have to start again 3-0 down.

Matt Duchene is lighting it up man, the kid is superstar in making. It's getting to the point where he is creating plays, rather than being a part of the plays, elevating players around him. If he buffs up and toughens up in the dirty areas, he could be the Forsberg type of forward the Avs have needed for a long time. (Even some of the those years when Forsberg actually played for our team)

I love when the Devils beat the Habs. Drives all the Habs fans insane.
FUnny news the Cyotes took a major and misconduct. They didn't send anyone to the box and it turned into a 9 min 58 sec penalty before a whistle blew. It was for a minor on Phx. They tried to ice it three times but Roloson negated it in a smart veteran move

By the way, Cujo is calling it quits. I would say he had one of the coolest nick names in hockey.

A bit unfair to a visiting team who would have to surrender a 3 goal lead, 2 points because of "an act of God". I know when the power went out in the Garden for the 88 Cup Finals, the players got to keep their points, but the game was replayed.

Devils/Habs, what a war that ended up being. Awesome, awesome game, can't say enough about what I saw of it (couldn't watch it all, unfortunately).
I may or may not go to the resumed game today, but the Devils are saying to hold onto the ticket for the game, as on Tuesday they'll have instructions on how to use it to get a free ticket to a future game.

Yeah, the Red Wings OWN the 3 California teams after last night's win over the Sharks.
Only 1 loss against all 3 of them so far.

Stupid f***ing interpretation of the over the glass rule of hitting a flying puck out.
Yet we got goalies who barely touch the puck in a job in the restricted area. Hell it just happened where he cut into the corner. Stupid f***ing refs
