I predict this will be the biggest mistake NBC has ever made.

Robert Plant is going to steal those lyrics from you and make a new song He's welcome to them, but we'll have to wait and see how O'Brien's "new kingdom" does before we write a second verse. I predict this will be the biggest mistake NBC has ever made. And I predict you're right. O'Brien got screwed out of a position he had waited for for over a decade. This isn't just "my boss at Happy Chef hates me", this is one of the last remaining links to network TV's dawn and NBC has thrown it around like it means nothing.

Personally I feel the only big chinned talk show host worth watching is Space Ghost, make him an offer for the Tonight Show.

Conan, you have nothing to apology for. your hair is amazing, and is a hell of a lot better than a 10 lb chin.

I don't see him saying "I Quit!" I see him refusing to give in to Leno's dickery and NBC's idiocy. Good for Conando making a stand and not folding like a bad hand of poker.

Even though it's technically not over, that's a sad way to end this whole saga. Gracious of Conan to step down for the sake of history, but he shouldn't have to. Leno should be dropped like a bad habit, or be the bigger man and step down for Conan's turn at the spotlight. Besides the Olympics and America's Got Talent, I know my viewership of NBC is going to go way down now.

Conan is a class act. I hope he gets signed by Fox and is given the respect he so rightfully deserves.

It's sad that the big chinned egomaniac has turned Conan into just a footnote in the history of the Tonight Show, one of the longest running and most influential brands in the history of television. Hopefully Conan goes on to make them pay for their mistake the way that Letterman has and the world sees Leno for the hideous human being he is and shun him, giving him ratings that Magic Johnson would have been ashamed of

It's a shame this had to happen, though i think he made the right move in leaving. The Tonight Show was the dream gig and they turnrd it into a nightmare situation.Should be interesting to see in 2016 when Leno muscles Jimmy Fallon out too

As far as Conan going to Fox goes, would the pie be big enough for all three? I could almost see him getting lost in the shuffle if he tried to compete directly.

How many more years is Leno viable. Assuming that the Late Night genre still exists, who the hell is going to want to take his place now knowing how little faith NBC has in anyone and how quick they are to pull the plug.

Or, he could go to TBS and do a talk show before Lopez Tonight if they're serious about being a comedy/talk show channel.
