Thing is AJ isn't the next Rock, Austin, Taker, Hogan, or Cena. He's an awesome wrestler but terrible talker. I think Morgan should be molded for the top role in TNA. I really enjoyed the 3 way but TNA needs more then great matches to create stars. AJ would be the perfect IC champion in WWE no matter what time frame he's in. TNA writers are trying to go in the right direction. Thing is they don't know how to create stars. Russo knows how to shock fans without a doubt. He just don't know how to create superstars. Bischoff on the other hand knows how to promote and create stars. I hope Russo and ED can work with EB for the sake of TNA and its wrestlers. Bischoff managed to create only two stars during WCW's hot streak-DDP and Goldberg. And one of those was created by a near-umprecedented jobbing of the entire roster to him. WCW was a model for buying stars, not making them-which seems to be approach TNA takes most of the time anyway. Yeah two then TNA has created. lol!!!! Also TNA has to find a guy who can draw fans into their company. Right now they don't have that.

I disagree that Russo doesn't know how to create stars. The Rock and Mankind were both midcarders who became main eventers while he was head writer, I believe he is/can be credited with all of the Kane stuff, and he gave Triple H the Jesus push that made him into a main eventer, although it wasn't until Russo left that HHH became legit.

I'm confused as to why this bothers people. Isn't one of the main things a lot of wrestlers and fans criticise about current wrestling the fact that the big promotions are overly dependant on writers?
I usually consider it a copout to say things like "well, if Lance Storm said it instead of Hulk you'd agree" but in this case I don't know what other reason there would be other than a bias against Hogan. In fact, I believe Lance Storm has basically expressed this same opinion and many other wrestlers as well. The difference is, Hulk is actually going to be in a position to do something about it.

I said "firing Russo for Hogan would be dumb as hell" months ago and nothing will make me change this stance. And I am no Russo mark. Russo may be trapped in a 90s mindset but Hogan is trapped in an 80s mindset that's even more dated. And Russo has gotten more people over than Hogan ever has.

I give Vinne Mac credit for making stars out of HHH, Rock, Mankind, and Kane. Fans have no idea Stng still wrestle. He would draw if the fans had any idea TNA existed. Hogan knows how to get fans attention. I believe Bischoff will be the one who handle the changes in TNA. I don't want Vince fired I just want TNA to get him a true filter for his ideas. Cornette was the wrong guy because he don't work weel with others. I hope TNA get behind the Pope, Joe, Morgan, and Desmond big time. By the way Morgan's a better talker then AJ.
At least he can focus on the camera. I hate the way AJ always look away from the camera doing interviews. Its like he looks off to read a sheet of paper with his lines on it.

Weren't they writing for WWE during their hottest period and given a lot of credit for helping people like Foley and Rock? This is Hogan running his mouth off, if he had anything like that power or if Dixie were that willing to appease him, Russo would have been gone the moment negotiations opened and we'd have a Jim Cornette booked TNA right now rather than Russo, Ferrara and D'Amore..

First of all Russo didn't make those guys stars McMahon did. Russo is a writer not a booker. Russo said so in interviews he's no booker. Heyman, Gabe, Rhodes, Sullivan, and D'Amore those guys were bookers. Russo just write storylines where guys could become stars from he didn't create any.

Yeah, that's all revisionist history. Russo had a very big role in getting those guys over, but since he's the bogeyman of pro-wrestling, most refuse to acknowledge it.
I'm not too worried about this Hogan nonsense though. This is reminding me of the buildup to Russo and Bischoff returning, where Hogan ran off his mouth. This is probably leading to a storyline: Current TNA vs. Hogan TNA.

Hogan's rationale for this was his dislike for writers in general in TNA. How they strip emotion out of wrestlers on the mic. It wasn't that he hates Russo. This is something EVERYONE on this board complains about constantly..
And I completely agree with him. While obviously you need someone to structure the show... you don't need someone to spell out exactly what words AJ Styles is going to say.

I never bought into the often suggested idea that posting here will simply like/dislike ideas based on who they come from and how they feel about that person until this thread.

Here's what he said..
Question: Hulk, if there was one thing you could change about the wrestling industry at this point in time what would it be? How will Hulk Hogan revolutionize the wrestling industry yet again?
Hulk Hogan: Well, the one thing I would change and I'm going to change is..I hate the writers. I cannot stand that they have a writing team sitting in the back telling the wrestlers what to say and telling the wrestlers what to do in the ring. That's one of the reasons why I went to TNA because the other promotion that's what they're all about - scripting the verbiage and scripting the matches and telling the wrestlers what to do.

If this can get TNA out of the Impact Zone for live shows, make bigger stars, create new stars, and improve the product. GO HULK GO!!!!

I can buy it in the case of Russo, seeing as how Hogan went as far to a file a LAWSUIT against WCW because Russo went too far in that whole worked shoot mess during the dying days of WCW. Clearly he'd be more than happy to oust him if the chance presented itself. Maybe Ferrera as well by mere association. As for the rest of the writing crew though... all two of em, well whose to say?

Can't help but think the Hogan "running TNA" and stuff is all a big work. Same here.

Surprised more of his quotes from that interview haven't been brought up.
That sounds very worked to me, thanks to the Team Hogan bit. It fits in very neatly with what Nash has been saying.
It also seems quite silly to say that Jarrett was management in storyline only.
Nice that Styles gets some recognition, but he's no kid any more.

Well Hulk wants to do a more UWF, NWA, World Class, and old school WWF show. He already called Kevin Sullivan and want him to work with Russo, and ED. I have a hard time believing this, because after the Benoit murders, Hogan did an interview where he implicated Kevin Sullivan could have been involved and said he was involved in a lot of "Satanic activity".

"And you know, Brother, the first thing I'm gonna do as student counsel president is double the length of recess! Whatcha gonna do when I get everyone a coupon for free ice cream in the cafeteria on Fridays? Yeah, yeah, and I'll ban homework and make pillow fights count towards extra credit!" My point being, it sounds good on paper, but a show without the writers could end up being a clusterf*** of epic proportions. Who goes over? Who gets more mic time? Who gets to feud with who? I don't imagine some guys would say "Oh, give my push to Devon. I'll wait my turn". Not particularly likely. Also, what do you when the wrestlers are forced to write their own stuff? Do they get paid more? Or are they asked to do twice as much work without any extra pay? Hell, after thinking this out, it doesn't even look like a good idea on paper, either.
