He really seems like a genuinely great guy. Sad to see him go. Believe it or not, he was one of the few WWE guys who still made me care when he was in the ring.

Yeah, definitely a great moment. Don't think anything could've made it any better.

At least the two extra sides of the TNA ring will help support his weight.
But seriously, that was a better send-off than any other midcarder has ever gotten from the WWE.

I miss him already.
That was seriously a great, genuine moment.
Now, the real ECW is officially off life support. It's dead.

He was one of the only reasons why I have cared for the WWE over the past four years. I first saw him in 1999 and thought he was the coolest wrestler ever. Ever match when he was in the WWE I look forward to see him wrestle. I didn't care if he jobbed. He gave it his all. Thanks for everything you have done. WWE will be different without you. I actually broke down during that promo because I considered him my favorite wrestler of all time. ECW is gone. It will never be forgotten, but it can finally rest in peace.

I have to confess that before his promo, I was spending the entirety of his match thinking "yeah...it's time for him to retire."
Then, he delivers an awesome tear-jerker of a sendoff, and I feel like a heel for thinking negative thoughts. A great moment, for sure.

Godsped Tommy. Can finally say RIP ECW. They should just name the show something else next week.

Like I said in the ECW thread, I hope the young guys took what he did to heart, how he laid down when he didn't have to, how it did it to make guys like you look better.
Tommy Dreamer is what every guy who won't ever win the big title, and yet who wouldn't really need to, should strive to be like.

The last of a dying breed (both literally and figuratively) is gone. He got beaten more times than could be counted, but he always made people care regardless. Heck, he won more in the new ECW than the original. Good to see him get a proper title reign this year.

It's weird. For me, Tommy Dreamer, a guy I never really cared for in-ring, is a guy I thought I'd never miss, but now that he's gone, I'm gonna miss him. Ironic.

Its funny that Tommy departing puts into perspective how much the wrestling industry has changed since the original ECW. It's sort of sad. I'm now 22, and I remember sitting up excitedly waiting to check out Barely Legal, as I had watched as much ECW as I could here in NY (it was on at like 2am on MSG). I'll miss Tommy, I'll miss ECW, and I'll miss the way wrestling used to be. As time has gone on I've felt like I'm losing real identifiable superstars to relate with in the industry. Dreamer was one of us, arguably the last guy to be like one of us that was left on the National stage.
Thanks, Tommy.

I gotta admit, I wasn't particularly a fan of his and always thought of him as a midcarder, but I loved his matches, he was always able to put people over.
His Extreme Rules matches with Jack Swagger was the only reason I ever took him seriously.

Tommy Dreamer was the Tim Meadows of ECW.
Back when SNL was really funny (Phil Hartman, Mike Myers, Chris Farley, Dana Carvey, Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider, etc.) they revamped the whole cast one year....except for Tim Meadows. THey brought in all new people over the next few years and Tim Meadows stuck around. They even joked about it when Mike Myers came back to host.
Sabu, RVD, Sandman, Balls, etc. all left and the show was all about new people. Except Tommy. He stuck around for no good reason. Glad he got a title run and cool send off but it was time to call it a day.

I have to say that was a great send off and couldn't have been for a more class act. Dreamer truely was one of the most unselfish wrestlers of this era. He was extremely popular, but didn't care if he won or lost, he would still do whatever it took to make the other guy look good. I also agree after his retirement they really shouldn't carry the ECW name anymore.

Farewell, Tommy. It's a long shot, but I would love to see him in the Hall of Fame.
