My worries about the potential "TNA RULZ, WWE DROOLZ" speech aside, I really felt for the guy and it was an awesome moment to go out on.

Now, the real ECW is officially off life support. It's dead. Amen bro. I don't watch WWECW at all, but I did last night to see Tommy's final moment. I must admit that I started to tear up when the reality of ECW finally being allowed to rest in peace hit me. ECW...ECW...ECW...ECF'NW!

Awesome send-off. He always was good at those emotional speeches, our Tommy.
Thanks for all you've given.
Will this lead to a push for Ryder?

I didnt get a chance to catch ECW yesterday and was unaware that this was Dreamer's last match until I came into the forums today. I immediately went and watched this and as others have said it definitely made tears come to my eyes seeing it...He's either the greatest actor in a long time in WWE or his passion for this business still is unmatched. Either way I dont care I am a long time fan and give him many thanks for all the wonderful memories and influence he has had on the product over the years.

I've been thinking about getting into wrestling by joining Lance Storm's wrestling school. And while I want to get into great shape, one of my inspirations for being a wrestler is Tommy Dreamer. Not just because, he isn't your cookie cutter type of wrestling. But because of his heart and his passion for wrestling, and how that's something to look up to.
Tommy is one of my favourite wrestlers. He's not your cookie cutter wrestler. But, he's a guy who's always going to put on a good match, no matter who he's in the ring with. And maybe his lack of a cookie cutter look is another reason he's one of my favourites. But even with not looking like a top athlete, he always goes out of his way to do his best, and put on awesome matches for the fans. Tommy is one of my inspirations for pro wrestling, and if I do get into wrestling, one of my goals is to be one day as good as Tommy Dreamer. So I also say thank you to Tommy. If he gets into TNA, then that's great. Tommy is awesome to watch, no matter where he is.

I wish him the best of luck in whatever he does from now on. He was a true class act.

Everything you'd want in a mid-carder. Unselfish, loyal, willing to do what it takes to have a good match.
seriously Tommy's won more in New ECW than he did in old ECW.
It was all in all a great year for tommy, an ECW title reign, PPV matches, and a great send off at the last ecw show of the year.
HE'S HARDCORE

Tommy really gave ECW it's heart, made it seem, even though it was a WWE product through and through, like there was kind of a acknowledgement that one of the originators in the Bingo Hall was there to give it a little authenticity.
Tommy was a jobber, a jobber that somehow made himself into a maineventer. He was a nobody who debuted with sparkly suspenders and pants and made himself into something everyone could relate to, a normal guy with some talent but a lot of guts and a desire to do what he loved. The reason people like Tommy Dreamer is he could be you, a chubby guy who likes wrestling and if you lite a fire under him he'll kick your ass, or make you remember you fought him if you kick his. How can you not like that?
Thanks for being yourself Tommy, you proved that that is the best character of all sometimes.

I grew up with ECW.
I watched them on Channel 48 in Philly as a 12 year old mark just looking for more wrestling to watch. I watched ECW evolve from Eastern Championship Wrestling into what we all know as ECW today. I was there, every month, sweating my ass off in the tiny little bingo hall, chanting along with everyone, sometimes starting my own chants(at 15, that was an amazing feeling).
Along the way, I watched this guy, Tommy Dreamer. Now, while I was a huge Sandman mark, and, in my teenage years, dressed more like Raven, Tommy was the guy that me and my friends could all relate to. We were all Philly boys, none of us destined to be a huge star in whatever our chosen profession. But we all watched Tommy, and he really did instill in us the idea of work ethic. What I mean is, as long as you enjoy what you do, go out there and do your damndest to do a good job, even if other guys pass you by for promotions and whatnot. If you do your best, at least you can sleep at night.
I know this is almost ridiculous to learn such a lesson from a guy who pretends to fight, but dammit, I love Tommy Dreamer. He was one of my heroes growing up, and was always a class act whenever I'd run into him. He'll always be one of the few guys I genuinely care about in this profession, and whatever he decides to do, I'll support him forever.
So, I'll type this out, for what might be the last time, in thanks to Tommy Dreamer....
ECW! ECW! ECW! ECW! ECW! ECW! ECW! ECW! ECW! ECW! ECW! ECW!
Thanks for the memories, Tommy.

A lot of times, when people invest years of time, money and energy into an endeavour only for it to be bought out and altered or destroyed, they can become very bitter or obsessed with capturing what they once had but that was certainly not Tommy. Even with ECW closing, he didn't lash out at Vince or Paul or anyone and was still passionate about wrestling and helping new stars get over in WWE. That's what I most admire about Tommy, he didn't lose sight of what's really important in life: family over something that's in the past (like Randy the Ram in The Wrestler). THANK YOU TOMMY, it's been a great pleasure to watch you wrestle over the years!

I hope, and actually am pretty sure, if anything Tommy simply won't mention his WWE stint as opposed to bashing it. Tommy may or may not have enjoyed his ECWWE tenure, but I *DO* know Tommy loved the original ECW enough that he wouldn't want fans to think he was speaking of the Bingo Hall days if he was to bash the Syfy version of ECW. Because, sadly, some younger fans ONLY know ECW as a one hour show on Syfy.

That was so perfect an ending for his WWECW career...a part of me hopes he does go to TNA, but after this I don't know. *wipes tear from eye*

Quite possibly my favourite wrestler of all time. He was never the best, never the strongest, not even the best at the mic. But at the same time we was the jack of all trades. And most importantly, his passion for this business is simply unmatched.
He didn't win and he never wanted to, he just wanted to go out there and do the job he loved for the people he loved. And you can simply tell that he didn't just love the fans in a typical babyface way... He viewed them as a part of him, they were the fuel that kept him doing what he loves and the fans knew this and in return would always return the love back. Anyone at all who can have that much passion for their job, regardless of what it is, is in my opinion the definition of a man, and a hero.
Thank you Tommy.
