I teared up...and hell, I'm the guy who started the "Tommy Dreamer is fat thread."
For every joke we've ever told on here and elsewhere, I hope the internet realizes that we really do appreciate and loved every moment for Tommy Dreamer. He formed a connection with fans that most modern wrestlers can only dream of.
Thank you for putting the business ahead of yourself Tommy, and you made your mark in addition to achieving all of your individual goals in this industry.
Whether he's retiring or going to TNA, it doesn't matter. I'm glad that Tommy is doing what makes him happy, and I know he will get his Hall of Fame due one day.

I've honestly never been a huge Tommy Dreamer fan, but also I've respected the hell out of him.
I still remember in the late 90's listening to him, Saturn, and Taz on a two hour interview they did from St. Paul to Duluth on my local radio for the only time they came touring in my area.
ECW outdrew WCW that year, and ECW performed better then the last time the WWE had a house show here also.

I teared up too. Especially when he laid the ECW t-shirt in the middle of the ring and waved goodbye with his daughters. Thank you WWE for giving Tommy that send off, ECW just isn't ECW without Tommy Dreamer. He truly was the heart and soul.

That was great. Gave Ryder a nice rub, and even though I never cared much for the original ECW, it got me emotional that promo did.
The part where one daughter says 'My Daddy gets knocked down alot' while the other says 'but he always gets back up' was so epic.

The top guys always get the credit, we talk as fans about charisma, workrate, and all that, but in the end, there must be someone like Tommy around. Someone who gets the fans to care while going out with just one mission - make the other guy look like the baddest dude on the planet. Dreamer said so many times in the original ECW, as far back as 1995, that he never wanted to be a world champion, because that wouldn't fit what he was trying to do. In the end, he got his run, and, while well deserved, I'll remember the last 14 years as a fan for a far different reason.
I think of the guy who took bumps that most would demand extra money for because it'd make the guy he was working with look like a killer, the guy who worked a PPV six man with a bicep torn so badly that it was hanging from the bone (they showed it on camera), and who, by age 28, looked like a guy in his 50's thanks to the numerous disc problems in his back.
He was beaten up, run down, and wounded long before 30, but never forgot the fact that in wrestling not everyone can be stars, and someone has to be a star maker. That was his job and he did it damn well.

I thought it was really emotional but I can't help but feel he's going to show up in TNA and say his speech was all lies and WWE made him do it.

Really wish he could've put over someone better in his last match in ECW, but oh well.
Dreamer was 1 of 2 reasons I still watched any WWE programming. Goldust is the other. Needless to say, I'm sure I'll be 100% done with wrestling in a very short time lol.
I actually hope he does go to TNA, if only to cut a promo on "WWECW".

Very well done stuff by Dreamer, no doubt. Plus it got the bonus of getting Beulah back on my TV for at least a few moments.

It was one of the few "genuine" moments that made me ALMOST cry,I've ribbed on the man but he gave is well-being for the buisiness,my best friend and I almost crapped bricks when Tommy won the title, and (unlike Flair, who I got sad but not like Tommy because Flair just had SO MUCH LOVE IN THE RING!)I felt like I could hang out with Tommy because he just seemed like such a good guy.If he shows in TNA,I hope he isn't a wrestler;YOU WILL BE LOVED AND MISSED MR.DREAMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would have rather have had it been Christian go over him, but that was nice. Probably one of the most heartfelt going-away speeches given in a long time. I trash on the WWE's direction a lot, but I am glad they let Tommy go out on his own terms, with his head held high, and gave him the chance to do something from the heart, like Tommy always did. Tommy is and will probably always be my most inspirational wrestler, because he was one of us. Just like Foley, he was a fan who didn't have the physique, but had the guts and the drive. And most of all, he always entertained.
Watch him go, folks, because you'll never see someone like him in a ring again.

Never a huge Dreamer guy, but always seemed like a guy worth listening to when I had the opportunity and very memorable in that normal guy sense. Nice send-off.

A great promo guy, a decent worker and he has amazing psychology. He makes you BELIEVE what he's doing, man. He puts everything into all of it.
One of my favourite wrestlers ever. Sad to see him go.

That was one hell of a speech. I was teary through the whole thing, but when he talked about what his daughters say that he does for a living, I was pretty much openly weeping.
Tommy Dreamer is one of my inspirations, that a man could give everything to something he loves, and gain the respect and love of millions because of it. I hope that I can be like him someday.
Thank you, Tommy Dreamer.

Awesome moment, Tommy was never really one of my favorite wrestlers, there his no denying the heart and soul he'd put out there every time he was in the ring, he will be missed and I seriously wish more wrestlers would have the passion and love for the business like he does.

Probably my favorite wrestler of all time. I still chuckle thinking of Raven affectionately calling him a fat ass numerous times on one of his shoots. I'm gonna miss Dreamer, provided he doesn't go to TNA, which I hope he doesn't or else this special moment would be ruined. I understand this feeling that some have expressed, but it is still very selfish. Tommy can do whatever he wants. Tommy doesn't owe the fans "special moments". He clearly was emotional since he knew this was his last match in WWE and he was the last link to the old ECW. But if he loves what he does and wants to continue in TNA, then more power to him. We should respect that. And I hope to see Dreamer wrestling again somewhere because the business needs more guys like him. If I had a company I would hire him in a second since he can help with so many things. You know what? Sting and Flair should have stopped after their match on the last WCW Nitro. That was a special moment for both. But they didn't. They never do.

Guys, this is basically an appreciation thread and, coming in here to bad mouth Dreamer will be deemed flame baiting and, you will be warned for such.
