Farewell, Tommy. It's a long shot, but I would love to see him in the Hall of Fame. I'm willing to bet that it's a shorter shot than most people realize; that is, if he doesn't go to TNA. He's worked really hard for the WWE both in-ring and backstage. He never seemed to have heat with anybody. And as per the usual argument, if Koko's in...

Its funny that Tommy departing puts into perspective how much the wrestling industry has changed since the original ECW. It's sort of sad. I'm now 22, and I remember sitting up excitedly waiting to check out Barely Legal, as I had watched as much ECW as I could here in NY (it was on at like 2am on MSG). I'll miss Tommy, I'll miss ECW, and I'll miss the way wrestling used to be. As time has gone on I've felt like I'm losing real identifiable superstars to relate with in the industry. Dreamer was one of us, arguably the last guy to be like one of us that was left on the National stage. Thanks, Tommy. I don't usually do this...but THIS. Goodbye Tommy, and thanks for the memories.

I still can't accept he's gone. It's all so surreal. Nooo Nooo Noooo!!!! Here I am with my thoughts of you, and this world I've left for me. Stoic faces when I think of you, and how I once believed.

Thank you Tommy! You are a great wrestler and truly the heart of ECW. I'll be watching this for sure on Friday.

Definately gonna miss Dreamer. He was truly the "everyman" and "working class" wrestler, along with being the last remaining peice of a dying brand. Tommy always put this biz first, and you gotta commend him for that.
One of my favorite Tommy moments in the WWE was his last Rumble appearance, at MSG in 2008. I was there live, and it one of the biggest pops of the night, def. one of the biggest in Dreamer's WWE career. He was doing what he loved 30 mins from where he grew up (which is my hometown, as well) in the arena he probably went to countless times. Even JR has to recognize and mention the fact that he is a hometown favorite.
THANKS FOR EVERYTHING, TOMMY.

I'm gonna miss Dreamer, provided he doesn't go to TNA, which I hope he doesn't or else this special moment would be ruined. I really wish there were more people like Dreamer in the business. Sure you go into wrestling to be the best but sometimes the best people in the business don't try to hog the spotlight or politic their way to the top. Some people are content with making other people look good and in turn making the business better by helping create legitimate stars. My friends and I have always liked Dreamer, partially for his everyman appeal and partially being jealous that he probably gets paid more money than we'll ever see just to get his ass kicked every night, and we respected that.

Something tells me Dreamer won't go to TNA. If he does, then those emotions just make Dreamer out to be a REALLY good actor. I can't see him doing it.
Thanks, Tommy.

He can still do some good putting over those up-and-comers in TNA like Hall, Nash, and Hogan.

Always liked Tommy. He was one of the guys you could always tell LOVED being out there for a living.
Kudos to the WWE for the send-off he got. They go it right.

I just watched this again, and I teared up again. I'm glad WWE let him talk, this is one of the most emotional promos I have heard that is 100% true and from the heart. It was amazing he got to speak on the behalf of his family. He is a true father.

Tommy was always one of my favorites as a kid when I got into ECW around 1998. I think it was well said, he was the everyman that was easy to look up to for a young man. He might not have always won, but damned if he didn't look like a hero out there. When they released the ECW action figures around 99 or 00 Tommy was the first I bought. I always played as him on the blah ECW video game, and I still use him on the WWE games and Fire Pro. This is a lot like Flair going, to me. Man, I hate to be "that guy", but ECW really isn't ECW anymore. I'll miss the guy, but I do selfishly hope to see him elsewhere.

Tommy Dreamer will never be mistaken as a great worker. He didn't really draw. He didn't have much charisma. He didn't have the body(at least later in his career when he became more "mainstream") and was sluggish at best. But, you will never see a guy make it to the WWE who puts in as much effort and has the same passion that Tommy Dreamer had.
Dreamer was never one of my favorites. But the industry is better with him as a part of it, and I will miss him now that he's gone. I'm just glad that all his passion and hard work got him somewhere. He won the original ECW title, even if just momentarily. He won the WWE ECW Title and was made the face of the show for a few months. And he got a very fitting farewell show. And how fitting was it that he went out by putting another young up-and-comer over?
I know I said that the industry is worse without him in it, but I also hope he doesn't come back, it will just bring this whole night down a notch. I would like to see him work backstage at some point though.
And as for the HOF talk, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he got in someday. Vince knows there's a cult following for ECW that makes money, Dreamer is popular among that crowd, and no ECW original has endeared himself to the WWE more than Dreamer. Someday.
Thank you Tommy. Go spend some time with your family.

Earlier this year I was really hoping he would win the ECW title so he would prove those rumors of him leaving the company would be false. I really loved his hunt for the ECW title angle and really enjoyed him as a champion. He just made Swagger look like a million bucks and made Christian look better. This is just really sad. Here is his current theme (I always liked this better then Man in a Box) to celebrate Dreamer:

As a fan of the original ECW, Tommy's farewell speech tonight meant more to me than Ric Flair's retirement. I teared up seeing him step through the curtain for what I thought was one last time at the original One Night Stand. Tonight, I teared up again watching one of my wrestling heroes say goodbye for what seemed to be forever.
Farewell to the most unselfish man in the business. God bless, Tommy.
