Ziggler's perfect sleeper hold or was that part boring to you? No he's calling it a Rear Naked Choke I am disagreeing and saying it's a Sleeper RNC?! It's clearly a Sleeper. Am I the only one who thinks Dolph should make it one of his finishers?

Ziggler's perfect sleeper hold or was that part boring to you? No he's calling it a Rear Naked Choke I am disagreeing and saying it's a Sleeper "Pro-wrestling's first "sleeper hold" is thought to have been performed by Jim Londos on June 29, 1931. Suspicion was abound as to the nature of Londos' move (which had looked suspiciously like a choke against the windpipe); however, Londos was quoted the next day in The New York Sun as simply having performed "a new hold I perfected which shuts off the jugular vein." Though Londos' original move may or may not have been inspired by judo's "hadaka jime," pro-wrestling's sleeper and a rear naked choke both share a similar style of execution. However, in order for the sleeper to be used in the performance art-related world of pro-wrestling, the "leverage" arm is positioned in a relaxed state so the hold is not actually applied." A rear naked choke is not a wind choke, it's a blood choke.

Dolph's move is a Sleeper and he calls it "The Name Dropper" according to an interview he did with WWE Magazine on Twitter yesterday.

Dolph's move is a Sleeper and he calls it "The Name Dropper" according to an interview he did with WWE Magazine on Twitter yesterday. People are missing the point. A sleeper hold is just the pro wrestling name given to a rear naked choke. Theyre both designed to shut off the jugular vein, the sleeper is obviously modified for pro wrestling to make sure it doesnt actually make the guy pass out. Someone please explain the alleged difference.

I was at least expecting some kind of kayfabe reason as to why the sleeper is applied differently. Ah well, it doesnt bother me too much. That being said, Ziggler using the choke was awesome, it actually look remarkably real, (Khali's enormous jaw probably helped there) and I love seeing submission finishers.

It's nice to see someone go back to basics, and in a world of double underhook facebusters, three quarter facelock sitdown cutters, modifed death valley drivers and three handled moss covered family gredunzels, it's cool to see someone go to the basic sleeper hold.

I'm not THAT Hardcore a fan. I think it's just my love for submission holds in general, I marked for the sharpshooter as a kid, the Crossface just looked NASTY the first time I saw it, Shamrocks ankle lock was lethal. Submission finishers need to come back.

With Dolph's Name Dropper & Tyson Kidd bringing back the SharpShooter, i'm pretty sure they might.

I thought the Kane/NXT segment was terrible. At the end, are we supposed to cheer Kane getting his revenge on the rookies for beating him down, even though he called them out? And what happened to the tension between certain rookies? And one of the two people that job is Wade Barrett?
None of it made sense. Terrible TNA-level overbooking.
Everything else was aces. Great, great episode. Too bad it had one stinker of a segment in there. Also, I would have preferred if Shad didn't take the pin in the tag match. It would make more sense if JTG took the pin.

I thought the Kane/NXT segment was terrible. At the end, are we supposed to cheer Kane getting his revenge on the rookies for beating him down, even though he called them out? Kane's a heel, remember? And what happened to the tension between certain rookies? The thought of Kane kicking all their asses is motivation enough. And one of the two people that job is Wade Barrett? Why does the IWC have such a hard-on for Barret? None of it made sense. Terrible TNA-level overbooking. There's no fat ninjas or bisexuals gyrating in police tape, so I disagree.

Not at the end of that segment. The crowd was booing the rookies. The thought of Kane kicking all their asses is motivation enough. It hasn't stopped the rookies before from bickering. Plus it undoes the booking on NXT. Why does the IWC have such a hard-on for Barret? That's an exaggeration. The IWC doesn't have a hard on for Barrett. Daniel Bryan, yes. Barrett has been booked the strongest by far and he is the last guy who should have lost in that segment. There's no fat ninjas or bisexuals gyrating in police tape, so I disagree. Now your just being ridiculous. That's not overbooking. Overbooking is taking 2-3 steps to do something that you could do in 1 step. A gauntlet would have been simpler and had more of the desired effect.
