Even still, I'm guessing there were probably issues between Mickie and management, but that shouldn't matter. Whether Mickie was being dumb or management was being dumb, it's irrelevant. Jerry Jarrett said that he would rather deal with someone being a pain if they could draw money, then someone who caused no problems and drew no money. Mickie was the most over girl on the roster. Melina was over, but was heel for most of her run. And Beth is starting to get some steam, but neither have even gotten near the response Mickie James got. So, it's pretty incredible to be honest. What's the business sense behind releasing someone who is that over? Maybe at the bottom line, Mickie wasn't bringing in enough money that they felt they needed to keep her? I don't know how the WWE evaluates that, but in the case of HBK they kept him because he made enough money that his jackassery at the time could be overlooked. I'm guessing the ratio of her importance to what they didn't like wasn't too amazing, and that would be the business sense. Also she should have never agreed to stop wearing skirts.

She was doing promotional work for the RAW draft when she got the call firing her and if you read her statements, she had no clue it was coming. Then they're retarded. I heard one rumour, that was said on a show called Right After Wrestling on the Score here in Canada, that she was late for a bus, and that was the straw that broke the camel's back. I'm not saying Mickie was or wasn't a pain in the ass, but there has never EVER been a diva who was over enough to put up with being a pain in the ass. She was "over" in much the same way that the that the LA Sparks are the best team in the WNBA. Does it really matter in the grand scheme of things?

Hell, Sunny was until Sable took off (her top), Sable until Chyna and then came Trish and Lita. If you're a Diva, you can be a over and a pain in the ass, you just cannot have someone who has the breakout potential you do in the company.

I would agree every single one you mentioned was more over than Mickie James I would disagree that any of them were over enough to not be completely replacable, and not worth putting up with being a complete pain in the ass. In fact, Sunny, Sable, and Chyna all leaving and WWE not missing a beat AT ALL just furthers my point.

I agree in a way as WWE built up someone to be as popular or important so when they tossed them out they didn't miss a beat but, they only did that until Trish and Lita. I guess they thought Mickie was at that level but, once Trish and Lita left, the division dropped in quality and popularity.

Not to mention that Mickie had the fortune of entering the div at a time when she could still get "the rub" from Trish when she was leaving. Nobody coming in (is there anyone coming in?) will get that now.

Nobody coming in (is there anyone coming in?) will get that now. There is no-one to get it from. They need to transform Beth into the new role model in the way that Lita was pre-Edge and Trish was post-Edge. Someone for the girls in the crowd to really look up to. The Draft is a great way to push the reset button on the women, and build the division with a fresh outlook. But no, we need the Bellas to accomodate whatever hijinx the guest host and Hornswoggle get up to don't we? The Divas are only in the state theyre in because the bookers are people who dont care. Give a booker who does just 15 mins a week, and it would be a lot better.

They both have great credidentials (Beth is now a 3-time Women's champ, first diva in I-Quit match, and first diva to have a hardcore match in Nine years. Milena is 3-time women's champ, 1-time Divas champ, first diva to be in I-Quit match, and managed MNM and Nitro) and are really good for people to look up to. But an interesting question comes up. Now that Mickie is gone, who will be the one to beat Trish's record of 7?!?!

Now that Mickie is gone, who will be the one to beat Trish's record of 7?!?! Beth, they have Striker putting her over as attractive on the mic, she is the champ, she is getting good crowd reactions (the pop for the pin was awesome) Beth would be perfect as the face of the Divas. She is hot, she is in fantastic shape without looking TOO muscular, and there is no possible way of saying she is "too thin". She is an actual wrestler turned pro wrestler rather than model turned pro wrestler. In an ideal world, the WWE should be pushing her to kids giving the impression that training hard and becoming great in a sport (she won a men's freestyle tournament at age 18) is an achievable goal. She also comes across in interviews as charismatic, charming and sincere as well. I agree with Melina as well. She is great on the mic, she is attractive with a healthy figure, she wrestles good matches. Both give off the right impression from WWEs divas. And Batista aside, neither one has been in a particularly trashy angle IIRC. Beth's first real angle was Glamarella, and that was comedy gold. Melina was brilliant in MNM, had a great feud with Beth, and is just generally a stellar performer. These two should be pushed as big stars, rather than Kelly Kelly Kelly and the Bella Chins.

She was doing promotional work for the draft show when they called her and fired her? That's pretty f***ed up.

Only six days after she was fired, Mickie has already been added to WWE.com's Alumni section. That has to be a record after a future endeavourment.
