Carolina, your nightmare is (partially) over. From the Department of "Duh!"... sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5975190John Fox will not be brought back next season. He should be dragged out of his house in the middle of the night and tarred/feathered for this, though. Carolina was a playoff team 2 years ago. WTF? Please welcome to the Carolina Panthers, Captain Obvious.

Thank you John Fox, you took us to our highest point and were all around a pretty damn good coach.
See ya around.

This would be my best advice for Carolina, hire Bill Cowher and draft Cam Newton. I'd LOVE to bring Cowher in, but there's about a negative 100% chance of that happening. It's already pretty much been said the team is going to look for a young coach, likely with no head coaching experience, who will most importantly, be cheap....the Panther's M.O. lately. I don't have a huge problem with that, as long as it's an offensive minded head coach who can properly utilize the weapons that we have, which I felt like the current staff failed with by being WAAAAAAAY to conservative with their offensive play calling.

Jeff Fisher in 17 years has gone to the playoff only 6 times. I was shocked by that.
For a guy everyone seems to think is a great coach, that's really pretty bad.

Weis could be leaving the chiefs to be the new OC at Florida. Josh mcdaniels could be his replacement. Yes, THAT Josh McDaniels. Ahem... {Spoiler}

Ahem... {Spoiler} I dont know why Charlie would be doing that because let's be honest...............taking the same position that is not the head coach at a college instead of a playoff bound pro team is sort of a downgrade. Only way I could make sense of this is Charlie and Will Muschamp must be really good friends.

Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Brett Favre (concussion, doubtful) has "almost no chance" to play in Week 17.

You wouldn't make it to the playoffs very often if your team was in the same division as Peyton Manning as well. How many teams and their coaches in the AFC East have been screwed over the last decade by having to keep pace with Tom Brady and the Patriots? It sucks (well, not for me as a Colts fan), but it is what it is.

I'm not against having McSpygate on the staff, he can sure do wonders with QB's. *cough* Kyle Neckbeard *cough*

The San Diego Union-Tribune speculates that Sunday's game against the Broncos could be Darren Sproles' last as a Charger.
Cowboys placed WR Sam Hurd on injured reserve with a concussion, ending his season.
The Bills have ruled out WRs Donald Jones (concussion) and David Nelson (ribs) for Week 17.

I don't get the Weis thing either unless Haley and him butt heads. But I thought Haley and McDaniels hated each other?

McDaniels MADE Matt Cassel, so that would be a great replacement in my opinion. No, McDaniels coached Cassell when he had weapons like Moss, Welker, and Faulk at his disposal. Weis was the one that turned Cassell into what he is today. McDaniels and Haley won't mesh well... and that comment is not soley based on their recent post game interaction.

This would be my best advice for Carolina, hire Bill Cowher and draft Cam Newton. I'd rather have Andrew Luck than Cam Newton. Though with Carolina's offensive woes, maybe Newton would be a better fit.
