Simple question...how would you book Nexus now to save the angle? We've talked so much about how Nexus is dead an buried, but what would you do to save it?
Simply saying breaking them up or firing Otunga aren't valid options either...I know it's coming.
I have a good idea of an angle for them, but it must wait until tomorrow. I'm just curious what you all can come up with.

A disheveled Barrett returns on RAW and challenges Cena to one final match. During the match, the rest of Nexus come down and surround the ring... only to let a perplexed Cena walk away unscatched, before viciously beating down Barrett themselves.

Redouble their efforts and start laying people out again. Make it an eye for an eye: if Cena keeps beating them up, go after people that Cena is close to on the roster. Take out King, refs, etc. Make them dangerous again.

Vince comes out of his coma. Barrett is at his bedside waiting to talk to him. Barrett makes Vince think that he has control of Nexus again, and tells him about the Cena firing fiasco. Vince fires Cena, and this time he's actually gone.
...This idea is working in my head but I'm too tired to write it out so that it makes sense. It basically involves backtracking and making the Cena fired angle ACTUALLY happen.

Barrett orders Nexus to enter the ring and fires each one of them, he then claims they were holding him back and says he'll beat Cena himself this time winning.
The rest become free agents much like Young and Bryan and most go to SD.

Wade Barrett comes to the ring, flanked by his Nexus comrades.
"When we arrived on RAW that fateful night, we weren't looking for specific targets. We sought to take down everything and everyone in our paths in the name of change. For you see, The Nexus was about revolution, bringing change to a company so embedded in its own delusions of grandeur that it could take young rookies and mock them on worldwide television for your entertainment. That's why we banded together in the first place, to make it so that talented people could get the chances they deserve, without being cut off at the legs by the faceless corporate types. You could have been simple collateral damage, John Cena. You could have just enjoyed the ride and let the revolution happen. Instead, you decide to be the hero, like so many times before. Yes, you did defeat us at SummerSlam, but your ego wouldn't let it go. You wanted us gone so bad you will willing to join us as a consequence. And when that happened, you wouldn't keep your word, fighting us at every opportunity. So that's when Survivor Series rolls around. You had the option of helping me win the title, or sacrificing your job. It should have been an easy decision, John, but again you do the right thing by you and get fired as a result. What do you do then? You, as a member of the public, hop that rail week after week and attack us. These were acts of a common criminal, not the paragon of virtue and role model you and WWE tell us you are. Look at you. In your quest to destroy us, we drove you to actions befitting that of a wild animal. Now you try to be the same man you were before we arrived, but you know it deep down in your heart that you are a changed man. You may have won the battles, John, but you have lost the war in ways you couldn't even imagine. One day you will realise this, and that's when you, and everyone in this arena, will see the bigger picture."
Something like that could help.

They already did it but they played the angle in fast forward. Barrett having Cena "fired" was a great way to get him over as a heel. They should have kept Cena off TV for a couple monthes, having him make an appearance here and there if need be. Then have Nexus run rough shot over the roster, most of which is terrified of them since they are the guys who ran Cena off. Maybe they put Orton on the shelve for a month or two while they are at it. Built them as a legitimate threat, then have Cena come back, then build it to Wrestlemania. The problem with what they did is that they quickly defused Nexus as any serious threat since they pretty much have been backpeddling since having Cena fired, there is still three monthes until Wrestlemania, and they need to find a way to stretch this storyline out until then when logically it has no where to go. Either they have to blow up the Nexus now and find Cena a different opponent for Wrestlemania or try to reestabolish the Nexus as a threat. The only way to do that is for them to take out Cena, which they already did, so it would just be redundant and no one would buy it since the last time they took him out, he was back before anyone knew he was gone.

All you would need to do is wait for Tarver and Skip Sheffield to come back from injury. Have Nexus just lay low for a while not be seen on Raw at all till you can get a group of like 6 or 7 guys again (with Barret, Tarver, Sheffield, Slater, Gabriel, Harris, and Henning). Nexus with only 4 or 5 guys sucks its suppose to be about strength in numbers. Keep them off screen till after Mania let those stories build and playout before launching a new one.
You have them re-debut by attacking Cena during a title match. Then you have Barret take the mic stating that the Nexus hasn't been gone and that John Cena will have to figure out who in the locker room is truly his friends.
Nexus keeps quiet about where they have been and what they have been up to. Over the next few weeks the Nexus helps out a mix of heels and faces win and retain titles. Nexus then starts to attack Cena one week on Raw and no one comes out and helps him except maybe one or two people but Nexus retains control and has a successful beatdown of Cena
Then the next week on Raw Nexus does a promo about how they hit rock bottom. Barret says he wasn't the leader he should have been thanks to Otunga. They kicked out Otunga because he was undermining their direction and brought back Tarver and Sheffield to join the group because they knew what had to be done.
But they are no longer looking to take down the WWE. Their goal is no longer the destruction of a company that looked to humiliate them on NXT. All NXT was doing was preparing them for the harsh reality that was the WWE. They realize that now. They simply seek the ruin of one man and that is John Cena.
John Cena was a savage animal he attacked the Nexus beyond the rules of engagement like a lawless animal. The Nexus wants to be a part of the WWE but they want John Cena to no longer be a part of the WWE. Cena will see that Nexus aren't the only ones who hate him and even his friends have their price.
You play it out by having some of Cena's friends turn on him and have a lot of Cena's old rivals help out Nexus. Cena and his few remaining allies fight against Nexus and the other heels. Boom you have an instant company wide angle. Nexus are the bad guys because they savagely beat up Cena and now are mad that Cena retaliated which calling foul on something you do all the time is heelish. Cena is the good guy because he is Cena all he was doing is defending himself.

I can literally hear Wade Barrett speaking these exact words. Though I don't know what Nexus would do after this promo since Cena is now feuding with Punk...for some reason I'm seeing Otunga costing Barrett the Royal Rumble leading to a match at Wrestlemania with Gabriel & Slater in Otunga's corner and Husky & Mike McG in Wade's corner, though i hope not...

At this point it needs to be ended, but let's try to keep it going to make this topic fun...
For the next few weeks it looks like Nexus is indeed history. Then one week David Otunga shows up with Darren Young, Skip Sheffield, Michael Tarver and Percy Watson as his own new version of Nexus. They issue a shocking beatdown of Wade Barrett during Barrett's return to Raw. Otunga claims he's taking over Nexus and he's going to win the Royal Rumble and go on to headline Wrestlemania and become the next WWE Champion. Gabiel, Slater, Harris, and McGillicutty come back the following week to join up with Otunga's Nexus, but Otunga doesn't want them based on their prior loyalty to Barrett.
This all leads to the Royal Rumble with Barrett & his men against Otunga and his men coming to blows during the battle royal. The big development that happens here is that John Cena (surprise) is able to eliminate them all and win the Rumble. The WWE fans are happy while the IWC rages about how Nexus is dead once again.
The next night on Raw, Barrett & Otunga join forces once again in a surprise attack to take out John Cena. Now 10-men strong, Nexus looks more powerful then ever. With the Elimination Chamber PPV coming up, the new Nexus begins taking out any possible contender for the PPV match. Around this time Vince finally comes back, and he is basically forced to insert Barrett and Otunga due to all the top stars getting taken out by the Nexus. The Raw Elimination chamber is setup to be something like Miz, Sheamus, Orton, Cena, Barrett, & Otunga. During this match, Barrett & Otunga team up to beat John Cena. HHH returns to cost Sheamus a victory. Barrett & Otunga eventually come to blows as they can't decide who is supposed to win the match between the two of them. Randy Orton is able to pin them both before Miz takes advantage and retains his title yet again.
The setup begins for Barrett vs. Otunga at Wrestlemania for "control" over Nexus. The in-fighting between Nexus members picks up some members side with Otunga, some with Barrett, and other say wait until Wrestlemania.
HHH vs. Sheamus and Miz vs. Cena are the other big matches from Raw on the WM card. Randy Orton wins the Money in the Bank.
Barrett vs. Otunga starts off as a normal match until Nexus members come out. A couple of them begin to interfere on Otunga's behalf. It begins to look like the loyalty to Otunga is stronger as no one comes out to Barrett's aide. Jennifer Hudson is there at Wrestlemania too, just because. As Barrett is outnumbered, it begins to look like it's all over for him until... the bigger picture is finally revealed....
Shane McMahon! Shane comes out to help Barrett win, and Otunga and his crew are defeated. Shane endorses Barrett as the next WWE Champion, and reveals he has been the anonymous GM all along. The remaining Nexus members come out to show their solidarity. Later, John Cena defeats the Miz (of course) to become the new WWE Champion.
Barrett, Shane, and the rest of Nexus now set their sights on Cena and his WWE title. David Otunga and his followers are sent down to Superstars purgatory. You can write the Barrett/Cena fued yourself because you already know how this ends.... Cena wins.
SWERVE!
No he doesn't! At Extreme Rules, due to heavy Nexus shenanigans, John Cena is defeated and Wade Barrett becomes the new WWE Champion! Nexus has finally "taken over" the WWE as Cena also fails to recapture the title in his rematch at Over the Limit. Nexus and Barrett look super strong, yet they are constantly stalked by Randy Orton and his MitB.
This leads to Fatal 4 Way. Barrett must defend against 3 other competitors. By this time we need some fresh faces in the main event, so this time it's Barrett, HHH, Sheamus, & Daniel Bryan in the Fatal 4 Way match for the WWE title. Barrett wins again, but Orton cashes in MitB after the match and we have a new champion.
That's all I got for now. That's 6 months worth of booking right there. Eventually I would try and turn Cena heel. He could cost Orton the title perhaps later on down the road. I dunno. It would all have to depend on how the rest of this goes.
