If you don't count the Rock (I do) I'd say Elijah "Pope" Burke has the best chance if he ever returns and they let him do his thing, maybe Kofi if he ever regains his previous momentum. It should have been MVP.

As others have said, there has already been a 7-time black champion in Rock.

What they said. The Rock already did it. King Booker doesnt count becuase that was WHC rather than WWE.

Forvive me for being redundant, but like others have said The Rock's done it already.

I hope this doesn't get into a stupid debate about the Rock not techncially being black. He's black. End of story. If anyone wants to debate that, they can go into a room and find someone to talk about the grass being orange.

Well, the SECOND black WWE champion will most likely be someone who hasn't debuted yet

It cracks me up that when people try to defend Vince for alleged racism, they'll jump to "The Rock was black", but then will say he wasn't black when talking about the skin color and nationality of past WWE champions.

As for the second guy, I think R-Truth could be, but they need a complete overhaul of his character. The rapping stuff has got to go. The dancing, all that stuff, it all has to go. I think Truth is someone who can talk a good talk, he can wrestle. I see Truth as a heel though when I see all this.

I don't they'll ever push Truth as champ. He still has a criminal record and isn't allowed in Canada.

If Tiger Woods is considered black so is the Rock
Who could I actually see other then the Rock, is Zeke. Portrayed as a monster when they have to take the title off of someone quick for whatever reason. Sort of like how Khali won it in a battle royal.
I could see Zeke doing it that way, and get that guy a manager already, some type of mouth piece so he can have time to grow and still get a push

He could easily be seen as a credible champion if the WWE wants him to be. What they should do is continue the feud with Ziggler, Kaitlyn, and Vickie. Ziggler turns face and dumps Vickie, then have Vickie start managing Zeke. Within a few months he could be the biggest heel on Smackdown.

As someone who is mixed race this thread kind of makes me sad. I guess the Black delegation from the Chappelle Show should have voted for the Rock instead of Tiger.
Also the next one will be Abe Washington (Yeah, that's right i said it).

Otunga's skin is about the same colour, if not lighter than The Rock's. Just an observation.
Anyway, probably Kofi, if they put him in a Smackdown world title program first.

I bet Bobby Lashley would of been the second black WWE Champion if he stuck around. Anyways I don't see any of them ever winning the WWE Championship. Unless the WWE Championship moves to SD and Kofi is on SD. Then yes.

I don't get the racism allegations.... I mean beak it down. How many black guys have been in the WWF/E that were main event level and over? Vince puts the belt on who will draw. I will admit, at one point I thought Ahmed Johnson had a chance, but being injury prone fixed that.

After the Triple H/Booker T fiasco, how can you not at least wonder if there's a bit of racism there? They literally had Triple H cut a racist promo against Booker T, then kill off all his momentum at WrestleMania.
