It hasn't quite been seven years for Orton / Cena; I can't recall them working together, other than the billion multi-man matches they had that year, until SummerSlam 2007.
Of course, they quickly killed that. And what makes it funny is 2008 would have been the perfect year for Orton vs. Cena at Mania and they decided to pass on it.

I watched the Rumble in a bar tonight with some friends. No one gave a f*** when Orton and Cena were in the ring together., In fact, some of us were shouting "Noooooooo!". If I see Orton v Cena any more times I think my eyes might bleed, and I say that as an Orton mark.

If I can recall, the first time they faced each other was at the Eddie tribute show. They didn't face off again in a one-on-one match until SummerSlam 2007. From there it was Unforgiven. Then Cena got injured and a match at No Way Out. They had another match the night after. They had a match the Raw before Judgment Day 2008 followed by the Cena/Orton feud of 2009. After the Iron Man Match they faced off at the 2009 Slammy Awards, and didn't fight each other again until the Raw Roulette show before Night of Champions. That was the Tables match that an above poster talked about.
This is all off the top of my head by the way. No Google searches or anything.

I loved it, so I'm not particularly bothered.
They could put Cena/Orton on at every PPV and I reckon I'd enjoy it.

The bigger issue to me is that Orton (as well as Ziggler) had no business being in the Rumble itself. Both guys had already jobbed in title matches so I can imagine the crowd thinking "Why is this guy in the Rumble after already having a shot tonight?" The crowd had already began thinking about Orton vs. Punk so now they have to consider Cena vs. Orton yet again? Bleh.

You forgot Wrestlemania 24, but then again that was Triple Threat match.

I know they have faced at least once and I think more than once, in the past year, I remember seeing that slightly botched AA into an RKO through the table spot in a match on Raw. Quick Google search shows at least these: Orton vs Sheamus vs Cena 1/11/10 Orton vs Cena 9/13/2010 Orton vs Cena 10/25/2010 Sheamus vs Edge vs Orton vs Cena Fatal Four Way 2010 Also they've been doing this for OVER SEVEN YEARS Not 7 years. The first time they really faced eachother was on the Eddie Tribute show, and I don't they did again, after that, till 07...

The spot has still been done for 7 years, the Cena/Orton faceoff, even if they didn't have matches. See SVR.

I was laughing so hard. It's amazing that they don't understand that people don't want to see this again. This, WWE "Creative" is clueless sometimes.

I guess people are over that feud for the time being. But that spot always happens in a Rumble; two big faces squaring off. It's just in this instance seeing then together is still very fresh in the mind. Not really a massive deal, it doesn't seem as if that feud is destined to start up again any time soon.

The tumbleweeds weren't rolling by because it was windy, they were looking for something better to watch.
I like Cena and Orton separately but put them together and it's a Berlin Wall of suck

I look at it this way. I was way more intrigued by the Big Show/Diesel staredown in the aisle. I know for a fact that a match between those two will not be an epic classic; hell, there's a good chance it'll be downright lousy.
And still I want to see it 10,000x more than another Cena/Orton match.

It's exactly like them saving up for years on Cena/Batista, and afterwards, it wasn't a big deal. Like at all. Whereas they could've struck while the iron was hot and decided not to.
