She could have made any comparison - the intention and sentiment are what mattered the most. I highly doubt Stephanie believed that the steroid trial was directly equatable to Sept. 11th; again, it was a way to empathise with the entire country by drawing a parallel to a time in her life when her family felt that their world was crashing but that they managed to pull through with strength, courage and fortitude - this was, basically, the mantra of the country at the time. I understand it, but it didn't sound appropriate coming from her. Nothing in her life was comparable to what those people who survived that day experienced. Yes, her family had to pull through probably the toughest time in their lives, but the magnitude is nowhere near the same as the time people had during 9/11, so she shouldn't even make that comment. "...but the magnitude is nowhere near the same as the time people had during 9/11"Of course not, this is my point. She wasn't trying to draw a comparison that she believed to be directly equatable to the attacks on Sept. 11th; she was presenting something that was analogous to the overall feelings of the general population at the time. Basically - in a roundabout way - she was saying that, while this is an awful time for everyone, they have to remain strong to overcome it. Again, she could have drawn any comparison and it wouldn't have mattered - the sentiment is what should have had the most focus, not the comparison she drew.

Can we stop the argument about Stephanie's 9/11 comparison please? You guys are just going around in circles now.

Molly Holly being mocked for being a virgin. Bear in mind that this wasnt just an aspect of her character, she really was one in real life, so its mocking someones own personal lifestyle choice.

Yeah that's quite harsh on Molly Holly. I think anytime real life issues are introduced to the storyline it has that awkwardness to it e.g the Matt, Lita, Edge thing.

It was the same thing with Dustin Runnels and Terri in 1997. I heard that they were having marital problems back then and were on the verge of divorce, but it was so awkward seeing that interview and Dustin just leaving Terri like that.

Big Boss Man and Big Shows fathers funeral! Didn't John Wayne Bobbitt show up during the Kai-En-Tai and Val Venis feud after they supposedly cut his dick off?

I've gotta say, i've never been "deeply offended" by a wrestling show. Tasteless at the time was "Oklahoma" but all it did was make me change the channel.

Katie Vick hands down. That was the only time EVER that I've felt so dirty after watching Raw that I felt the need to wash my hands for an hour straight.

Didn't Vince do HHH's water spit with the baptismal water? That whole segment was awesome. Yeah, as much as I hate the segment I did find it funny when Vince said "May God stroke me down..." and Shane hastily took a few steps to the side.

Not WWE, but Ed Ferrara's Oklahoma was beyond offensive for me. Ric Flair said it best at the Legends of Wrestling Roundtable. That statement got kinda neutered when he went to TNA, but still.

WHEN ANY ONE DOES EDDIE's SHIMMY Vickie doing it at Wrestlemania was one of the nicest moments the WWE has ever had. It wasn't mentioned on commentary or anything but it was clearly Vickie breaking character and paying tribute to Eddie.

Yeah it was freaking AWFUL, but the moment she pointed to the sky, I marked my ass off.

Again, she could have drawn any comparison and it wouldn't have mattered - the sentiment is what should have had the most focus, not the comparison she drew. She's a spoiled imbecile. Daddy was indicted for steroid distribution; a trial he would have lost if not for the complete fumbling of the prosecution during the latter stages of it. It may have been upsetting for her to see her bloated, water-retaining daddy, all gassed up in court, go to jail, sure, (for maybe three years tops, making doilies) but at least Daddy would get to come home in a few years, you know, alive. A lot of people's under the rubble didn't. Hence she's a moron. I think she should be forgiven for being the obvious idiot living in a bubble she is, but there is no defense for it. Ever. It was idiotic even if it wasn’t intentional. No one died in her worst moment ever. Everyone buried did. That’s the point. It was a horrible analogy, and completely inappropriate to air on a broadcast that had 8 hours to remove/re-tape.
