So I'm looking at the PWI awards and apparently Otunga was named the Rookie of the Year of 2010. Didn't he spend 2010 being Barrett and Cena's chew toy? WWE.com also listed him as one of the superstars to watch out for this year. So I'm just curious, what have Otunga done to bring all this interest onto him?

Pretty sure it involves meeting a certain Someone at the crossroads near Dockery Plantation at midnight.

Wait, wait, wait.
Barrett and Otunga debuted at the same time.
How did Otunga get rookie of the year over Barrett?

He married that actress person.
That's enough for Vince, he gets a hard-on for Z-List celebrities, having a wrestler on his roster whose married to an oscar winner is a wet dream for Vince.
Other than that though, Otunga has nothing going for him. He's useless.

Probably Rookie of the year as in 1st year of pro-wrestling.

I think it's because of how much he accomplished this year, despite being only an actual rookie, and that's what it's based on.
Despite his shitty wrestling, he's been very featured on television, and I think that's what got him the award.

Wrestling wise, he doesn't deserve it, but based on everything else, he's done a lot in the very small time he's been on television, despite it probably being done because of who his wife is. But, looking at it objectively, he's done a lot this year. Yes, he sucks. But, he would definitely be rookie of the year based on his accomplishments.

The greatest tag team title run of our generation?

He's done nothing that deserves that award. Justin Gabriel has shown a lot of talent in the group, even Heath Slater. But as a overall performer, I think Wade did deserve Rookie Of The Year.
But it's PWI magazine, and their opinion generally isn't worth listening to.

In kayfabe he was tag team champion, and second in command for the "most dominant group in WWE history".
None kayfabe-wise, he's good on the mic and has yet to let anyone down despite being in the most high-profile storyline in the company (which can't be said for a number NXT alumni).
He'll never get away from the J-Hud thing even if he goes on to be the greatest ring technician of all time, but for a guy who debuted in May 2009, he's done well.
