We're way past due for a new Suikoden. YES But..not holding my breath on one. I did finally snag a copy of II not too long ago, so I've now played and completed all of them except for Tierkreis.

Teirkreis isn't a bad game, it's just fairly light on content and stripped down compared to the main series. FWIW, It's a solid RPG but it's just not a great Suikoden game.

I liked Star Ocean 4, too. Well, I liked the gameplay, not so much the story or characters. Plus, I played the PS3 version, so I did't have to suffer the English dub.
I haven't played a new JRPG in a while. I think the last one I played was Hyperdimension Neptunia, which sucked.

It was pretty bad too.

The last new JRPG I played was...I think The Last Remnant. I know, I have a lot of catching up to do. I've spent the last couple of years being chronically broke, sadly.
EDIT: Technically I've played Xenoblade. My friend had it on his modded Wii and I got to play through the Japanese version for about 15 minutes. So if you count that...then yeah, it's Xenoblade.

I know what you mean, I've been broke most of the time for a few years now. Luckily there hasn't been many JRPGs coming out recently that I'm interested in. ATQoga, which was a disappointment, Persona 2, Devil Survivor 2 is about it for this year and next, so far.

Finally got my internet back, woohoo!
I picked up Xenogears while my net was out and finally finished it recently, the last boss is a damn pain. Also got Breath of Fire III, and I'm ashamed I missed such an incredible classic of a game for so long.
I also just finished Final Fantasy X again, in honor of its 10th anniversary. Amazing that it's already been ten years since that game came out. (Well, almost ten in the US; 12/18/01 was its release over here, I think.) For that matter, it's amazing it's been almost five years since FFXII.

Picked up La Pucelle Tactics finally, one more off my list. Now I just need Grim Grimoire and Makai Kingdome.

La Pucelle is sort of lackluster compared to the other NIS SRPGs, which is understandable because it was Nippon Ichi's first SRPG (and even more understandable due to the fact that it came out after the hugely superior Disgaea overseas), but it's still decent enough and full of great humor. It takes a big hit for not being able to disable (or at least shorten) attack animations, though; they can get real tedious. I love GrimGrimoire (Vanillaware's not made a less-than-great game yet, IMO) and I have Makai Kingdom, but I haven't played it yet.

I need to find more games to play... anyway, finished playing Yggdra Union on hard mode in the PSP. Gulcasa is still freaking hard in the first battle.

I really hope we get Blaze Union over here someday, though the translation in Yggdra Union will make it hard to do. Who thought one simple title change can almost blow a whole story >.>

I picked up Tactics Ogre for the PSP last week, haven't made that far in the game yet, but I like it thus far. So far my favorite part of the game is the fact they use the Ogre Battle music track "thunder" for some of the random battles. That's one of the best tracks in strategy RPG history.

Tactics Ogre is pretty good.
They made the game a bit easier compared the original. Reviving characters can be done easily, unlike the PS version where the characters are die pretty easily if you're not careful. In fact, the PSP game is way easier, though it does get pretty tough on a new game plus. Octopi are evil.

What are some of everyone's favorite RPG dungeons? Just curious. It also might be a bit of an unfair question as the Shin Megami Tensei franchise seems to have the market cornered on amazing RPG dungeon design (including my favorite), haha.
My favorite is unquestionably the final dungeon from Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. The huge length that still feels excellently paced, the challenging yet not hugely frustrating layout, the music that adds instruments as you ascend (similar to Tartarus in Persona 3), the amazing and climactic boss fights...everything about the dungeon comes together to create a masterpiece of design. Even the opening shot when you enter the dungeon adds to the near-perfect atmosphere that's created. A lot of what I've said could actually be applied to a fair amount of dungeons in Nocturne, but the final dungeon really nails everything perfectly.

I think both did a good job capturing the feel of an adventure, with hidden traps, treasures, and good ruin environments. Unearthing Lolithia eary on in WA really felt like an accomplishment, fighting down through the ruins, killing the big monster at the end, and then seeing this gigantic golem waiting to be taken back to the surface.

Persona 4 Golden confirmed for PlayStation Vita. With 1.5 times the amount of voice work, new characters and other new stuff. Welp, guess I'm gonna have to buy a PSVita at some point because Persona 4 on a portable system is pretty much the greatest thing since Persona 3 on a portable system.

And yeah, there's that too. From what I understand, it's being developed by the BlazBlue guys. If I cared about fighting games, I'd probably be very excited.

I can officially say I'm disappointed in the milking of the Persona franchise now. I understand why they've had to do it (P3P was made while, and because, the company was pretty financially strapped) but it's still disheartening.
It's alright that the earlier games are getting the port/remake treatment, I think, since they either didn't have wide release outside of Japan or were significantly changed if they did (excluding the NA Eternal Punishment release, but even that was limited). But Persona 4 is not only recent, it got a very wide release. I know that Persona has become Atlus' cash cow, but there are other MegaTen series too.
