The special feature on the Stunner on the new SCSA dvd/blu is hilarious. I was very surprised they showed the one where Stacy Keibler doesnt like SCSA's beer and he stuns her.

I can now confirm that the new Austin dvd is in a bundle at FYE with the Stone Cold Truth dvd.
I went to FYE today and traded in a bunch of cds and got $109 in store credit. So I picked up the Austin bundle ($18), Raw: Best of Seasons 1 & 2 ($20), and FINALLY got a copy of the Steamboat dvd set ($15). All of it ran me $56ish after taxes but I really didn't pay anything since it was off store credit.
The Austin set is marked at $29.99 retail. They had it on sale for $22.49. On the rack is a sign saying extra 25% off all WWE dvds that are new from the retail price. The dvd rang up for $24.99. I convinced the girl at the counter to take the 25% off the $22.49 instead of selling it to me for $22.49 so it dropped to $18...same price as Kmart!
Also picked up Greatest Superstars of the 21st Century....didn't really have this as a major want BUT I got it with store credit as well for like $10 so whatever.
Was a pretty good day. I wish FYE wasn't so pricey on some of their releases.....I'd of been more inclined to buy the rest of the stuff I wanted instead of hoping for a price drop.
And....now I gotta return the Stone Cold Truth dvd to Kmart with the receipt from last week since I bought it thinking it wouldn't be a bundle. Oh well!

The Wal Mart where I live actually had the Austin dvd out on Monday, so much to my surprise I bought and watched it yesterday. In my opinion this is the best dvd that the WWE has ever put out, and I have over 100 of them.
I've only gotten through the first disc of the 3 disc blu ray set, but the doc was awesome. I'd guess just over two hours and really cool stuff from Austin and they got a whole bunch of different people to comment that aren't usually on WWE dvds. The extras were awesome, as has been stated the Stunnered extra was fantastic, as were most of the other stories that were shared. I loved Punk's story on Austin, they used THAT picture and just really put over what a great guy Steve is.
Very recommended.

I did the math.....the 4 dvds I bought today give me roughly 40 hours of new material to watch.
I'm starting on the Austin dvd set tonight. He's my favorite ever followed by HBK.

This is not DVD related but VHS related,Does anyone know if the ECW VHS's by Pioneer are considered rare? The DVD versions are, I will tell you that. I got lucky to get my hands on a few though. I have all four PPV DVDs that Pioneer released. I have only two compilation DVDs, which are Extreme Evolution and Path of Destruction. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, I came across King of the Ring 2000, InVasion, and Survivor Series 2001 at Dimple Records. I couldn't pass them up, especially since they are so rare and it would have been rather likely for someone to beat me to them. Ah ok I was curious cause I recently bought Path of Destruction and Cyberslam 99 on VHS...If nothing else they will be nice collector's items for me.

My Austin Blu-ray shipped last night, expect it to be here tomorrow. Combine that with the Inception and Batman Begins BDs I got from various Black Friday sales, I'm gonna have a Blu weekend!
I wonder if I did my DVD list too soon....

Just watched the docu for the Austin dvd. It clocks in at 2 hrs 30 min and 37 sec.
Very interesting documentary. I wish it had covered his walkouts though.
That's the main gripe I had after seeing it. Otherwise...phenomenal job by WWE....some surprise interviews as well.

I'll probably check out the Austin DVD soon. I feel like I've already seen enough Austin DVDs, but one more can't hurt. I'm really pleased with the way WWE has been producing DVDs lately, so this one is probably worth watching just for the fresh perspective on Austin's career.
I watched a few other DVDs recently, and since this seems to be the topic for it, I'll just leave my thoughts here if you don't mind...
True Story of Wrestlemania
Fantastic documentary. I really enjoyed this. This showed off how great the WWE is at selling hype. Vince is the master of it, that's for sure. I learned a lot watching this DVD. They didn't show as much "behind the curtain" stuff as I was hoping for, but overall this disc was excellent and they didn't miss any major Wrestlemania storylines (except for maybe Rey Mysterio's WHC win). The match list on the extra discs is incredible, and worth the price of the set alone. (The battle of the McMahons was the only head-scratching inclusion to the match list)
WWW Greatest Rivalries: Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels
I was really looking forward to this set and it sure did not disappoint. I was a bit surprised to see that Bret still does seem to be a bit bitter over a few things, and at times he demonstarted his memory of certain events was much more vivid and Shawn's. I've always felt he might live in his character a little too much. That surprised me more than anything. But anyway, the DVD is great. I really enjoyed the story of that tag team match that didn't make air. It was great learning new things like that about the Bret/Shawn feud because the Montreal thing has already been covered to death. I'm glad the DVD didn't focus on that too much.
As for the matches, I haven't watched most of them yet, but it looks like a solid list. I had no idea they did the first ladder match. I always thought that was HBK/Razor, so there's another thing I learned. I need to watch that match yet. I like that they included original promos too (only on the blu-ray version, I think). Nice touch. I was more interested in re-watching those than the matches. I had no memory of the "Sunny Days" incident, even though I remember watching that show it live. You can tell the reference went right over the crowd's head at the time. I wonder if that would still happen today. Oh, that reminds me... this DVD didn't answer one important question about that incident... did Bret have an affair with Sunny or not? He mentioned having to explain it to his family... but what did he tell them, exactly? They let him get off the hook there. Is Bret really not the saint he pretends to be? I must know now!
Also, "WWE Greatest Rivals" would make for a great series. The Bret/Shawn sit down retrospective of their fued was great. I would like to see more of these, but I don't know who yet. Hogan/Bret would be good. I can't think of a rivalry better than Bret/Shawn so I can't come up with any other good suggestions. You guys have any?
Randy Orton: Evolution of a Predator
This was the biggest surprise, as I enjoyed this more than I expected to. Let's face it, Randy Orton just isn't as likable as other WWE stars, but I enjoyed this documentary nonetheless. I particularly was looking forward to finally hearing him tell his story about his Marine Corps discharge, and he did not disappoint. I can respect him a little more now that I know his reasoning behind going AWOL. As an Army vet, I've always looked down on him for this, and at least his explanation sounded sensible enough. He gets no sympathy from me though for quitting on his obligation to our country. But hey, I know the military just isn't for everyone. I'm glad the WWE held nothing back in revealing Orton's many transgressions. Though they were a bit more vague in mentioning his "angry outbursts" and stuff of the like without really describing specific incidents in which Randy Orton acted inappropriately or was violent or anything. Same thing with the drugs. Only sleeping pills? Sure. Addiction is something you fight with your whole life, so don't act like you're suddenly cured and everything is all rosy and peachy and nothing bad will ever happen again. Relapses can happen. I'm glad Randy's (apparently) at peace now, but part of me still worries about him.
Anyway, about the matches, I shockingly enjoyed these. I hesitated on getting this DVD because I was thinking the last thing I wanted to watch is a collection of Randy Orton matches (if you've seen one, you've seen them all IMO) but I started watching a couple of them and I got sucked right in. And I haven't even touched disc 3 yet, which looks even better!
One final, important note.... man, I really miss Evolution's music. I mean ****. Hearing "Line in the Sand" a bunch of times during this set made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
On deck for me next is "Greatest Superstars of the 21st Century" Any thoughts on that one before I watch it?
TL;DR - WWE has been making great DVDs lately.

I'm up to disc 3 so far.....match selection has been what I'd expect. Wish it had other matches since I have most of those on dvd already but prior to the matches feature he says "most of these have been on other dvds but they meant a great deal to my career".
Wish it had more WCW stuff and more from ECW.....I guess the "Stone Cold Truth" dvd covered that material fairly well.
I'm glad I bought it though. The doc was great. I'd rank it up there with the ECW and Piper docs.
I saw a used copy of the Tough Enough Season 1 dvd in Moviestop the other day....it was $31 used. Does that seem a bit pricey?

Just watched the docu for the Austin dvd. It clocks in at 2 hrs 30 min and 37 sec. Very interesting documentary. I wish it had covered his walkouts though. The 2002 walkout had like 4 minutes devoted to it, and I thought it was covered pretty well in detail. I think my review of the Austin BR maybe a blog idea in the coming weeks. The documentary was a BLAST to watch, and the matches, well, let's play a drinking game! Still can't wait to pilfer through the extras though.

Anyone have the Blu Ray that comes with the WWE 12 collectors edition for a reasonable price? Sadly the Blu Ray doesn't even have its own case. There is a little slot in the cardboard sleeve for the game where the Blu is stored. Here are pics. As you can see it could be very easy for people to lose the bonus disc. Depending on how many copies of the People's Edition sold, it could become quite collectible.

I believe only THQ.com and WWE.com sold these, so they should be pretty valuable, even if the "extra" is worthless (like Piper's fourth disc).

Just watched the Austin doc. Now, I've never really been the biggest Austin fan. I like him a lot and there's no denying just how good he was and is, I just missed the bulk of his most famous work. That said, though, this might be the best WWE doc I've ever seen. Absolutely immense retrospective of the biggest star there ever was, and finally a fitting tribute to his work. Loved it.

We can't also forget that 360 version of the "People's Edition" came with a DVD instead of a Blu. Now the Blu has 2 full episodes of Raw, I think the DVD only has highlights due to space limitations. I'd think the PS3 version would have had more orders due to the Blu, but there are more 360 owners so who knows.

I got the second Survivor Series Anthology, Best of Nitro and the second Eddie sets in the mail the past few days. The Eddie set in particular looks amazing. What's with the packaging of the Survivor Series anthology? The discs are in cardboard sleeves in a digipak. I don't understand why they would do that for that release, and I was particularly disappointed after the upgrade in sturdiness from the Wrestlemania Anthology digipak to the Royal Rumble Anthology digipak. I haven't tested the discs, I hope they all work.

I bought WWE Hart & Soul, Mick Foley Greatest Hits and Misses 3-Disc Hardcore Edition, Brian Pillman AND the Chris Benoit Hardknocks DVDs all for $30 last night. Picked them up locally so no shipping & handling charges either.
I was glad to get the Foley and Benoit sets again because I had sold them a while back and pretty much regretted it, especially the Benoit one.

Hey guys, I don't know if you ever saw this before, but I got a store! Powered by Amazon and its products, it's a perk to being an Amazon Affiliate. In my "shack" so to speak, there's a bevy of categories. Yes, I do even have a wrestling DVD sub-page. Essentially, if you have an Amazon account, you can shop from my store. In doing so, I get a small referral fee (like 4%) and every cent I ever get from this program (sadly haven't been paid yet, but I've got like $6 of built-up credit to date) will be used to hopefully make my blog complete a full-pledged website some day. astore.amazon.com/badboosblo-20Every sale you see on Amazon is applicable in my store for that particular item. I hope you all enjoy it! EDIT: I also completely forgot I made that my page underneath my screen-name.
