Oh and here's something that occured to me earlier today. Whatever happened to Sage? Did she die or something? Chris Claremont isn't writing anything so she disappeared into ether until he comes back (which given the quality of his recent stuff I hope is never). Well, other than the X-Men Forever books. ...which by some miracle hasn't featured her. Then again, those books are f***ed up enough without Sage making it even worse.

yeah. if those books are REALLY what Claremont had planned before he left in then 90s (bullshit), then the X-franchise is better off without him.
mind, I still say that Grant Morrison saved the X-men from spinning in their wheels and think it's rubbish that Marvel pretty much put them back there after he left.

Avengers Crusade #3 just made me very, very happy. Making use of Wonder Man, acknowledging his past with the Scarlet Witch, AND having him knock the crap out of Wolverine? Oh, yes, I am quite satisfied with that issue. Wonder Man beat up Wolverine? I'm sold. I wouldn't say that he beat him up (unfortunately); after Wolverine taunted him about his past with the Scarlet Witch and called his manhood into question, Simon just punched him through a wall. He also called into question how Wolverine could be made an Avenger, which further cements Wonder Man as being one of my favorite characters.

Am I the only person excited for the "Infestation" event that IDW comics is doing in January? Sounds really fun and with Abnett and Lanning (the guys behind cosmic Marvel) writing, it should be good quality.
Here's the solicit if you have no idea what I'm talking about:

I'm not a huge fan of franchise cross overs like this, but it could be fun seen as they are the writers. I shall give it a flick at the shop

No it just cements how badly written Wolverine has been written in this whole thing. From being an absolute dick to both Wanda & Wiccan, acting like a dick to Wonder Man a guy he respects, and just his behavior in general shows how badly written he's been this whole time. and f*** the death that happened in Avengers recently, the character showed alot of promise and his time was sadly cut short. Here's the solicit if you have no idea what I'm talking about: Been looking forward to Infestation for awhile now. Hopefully it leads to the Transformers Ongoing kicking itself back in gear. After AHM *Which I actually liked minus Optimus Ex Machina* the ongoing afterwards has been pretty blah. The sooner they get off Earth the better.

No, it really does further cement Wonder Man as being one of my favorite characters. That really isn't something you can say "no" to, unless you're trying to imply that Wonder Man is not, in fact, one of my favorite characters. Which would really just be a weird point to try to argue... And I'd applaud Wonder Man calling Wolverine's status as an Avenger into question even if he wasn't acting like a villainous prick. The dude just shouldn't be on an Avengers team; Marvel should leave him with the X-Men and stop trying to force the Avengers to be the JLA.

This is why I was so sad when Mighty Avengers ended; that felt like an Avengers book, rather than just being Marvel All-Star like both current Avengers are.

One of the big reasons I don't think he should be an Avenger is because he takes up a spot that could have gone to any number of classic Avengers that never see use if they aren't on the team. Another is that he's so mired with the X-Men that, unlike Beast, he just seems out of place. This is why I was so sad when Mighty Avengers ended; that felt like an Avengers book, rather than just being Marvel All-Star like both current Avengers are. Secret Avengers feels like an Avengers book, at least. The regular Avengers book has an Avengers feel, too, in spite of the continued presence of Wolverine and Spidey, though the use of villains like Kang and Ultron are a big part of that. New Avengers is the only one that shouldn't even be considered an Avengers book, in my opinion.

Avengers 7 is an interesting book.
On the one hand, I love that the Infinity Gems are back.
On the other hand, Bendis has already contradicted both the Illuminati book and classic Gem lore.
On the plus side, Avengers 11 may be the last JRjr drawn book, issue 12 has Bryan Hitch on art.....no news on if it's a one off or permanant though.
If it's a one off, being that Avengers 12 is the .1 jump on issue for new readers, they'll get a shock next issue, and it cant say much for how Marvel even views JRjr if they dont want him front and centre for jumping on....?

I was just coming in to comment on Avengers #7. Nothing f***ING HAPPENS in this book. The Hood(who I didn't recognize at first, thanks to JRJr's crappy art) is doing the Infinity Gem plot, which is kind of cool, but then, there's no action anywhere else in the book aside from one splash page of one punch. Just....horrible, really horrible. Even the "Oral History of the Avengers" backup was below average. On a much brighter note, Thunderbolt's 150th issue was BRILLIANT. Exactly how to do an anniversary issue. Great characterization, a flat out FIGHT(not a superhero battle, a FIGHT) between the good guys and the "bad" guys(I only really consider one of them a villain at this point, and he's gone anyways), and the charming, if completely random, Mr. Frog. Seriously, highly recommend this issue, and the series as a whole.

To be honest, DC have really rammed GL down my throat the past few years. I get it, you want us to like him, but come on!
EVERYTHING revolves around the guy.

to be fair, his movie is coming out next year and DC would be crazy not to put out as much GL stuff as possible. tie-ins make money, and it's a great way to get new fans who've never read the character before. Marvel looks like they'll be going into Thor overkill around the same time, if the previews for February are anything to go off of.

Marvel's tie ins tend to be self contained though. It's a couple of minis, maybe the character gets more publicity, but it doesnt tend to be massive events.
Be interesting to see if DC put out some Green Lantern stuff that ties into the movie, because movie Hal doesnt really compute at all with comics Hal - everything from design to characterisation has had an overhaul.

Can someone give me insight on the batman issue and batman Inc? I haven't gotten the batman comic in months for financial reasons, but I know Bruce is back? Can someone catch me up on this?

It's unbelieavably all over the place.
Just, Bruce is back. Batman is now a franchise. Leave it at that really. DC released a whole bunch of great one shots about Bruce being back, then ignored them, or Morrison did.
It's just..........too much.
