No more Stargirl? I've been watching some JLU and Smallville and she's pretty cool, that suck. Apparently not, given she cannot exist if Star Spangled Kid did not exist and since it is confirmed Superman is the world's first superhero again and he just started heroing five years ago, that makes the WWII era heroes impossible. That sucks. Just saw Barbara Gordon is Batgirl again, I liked her as Oracle. If this isn't good I'll be done with mainstream comics.

Restoring a plot device that was already WELL trod by the sixties at the latest if not the fifties and forties besides is a bold new direction? Don't forget about the part about killing off Ma and Pa Kent again. This is the reverse of Back to the Future, it's Ahead to the Past!

Wait. How is the Action Comics 'young, brash, and brooding' Superman any different from the guy in JMS' Earth One? Why not just fold that into the main continuity instead? Why nullify your bookstore brand so soon?
Ah well, in lighter news, Tim Seely's writing Witchblade in October. Rad.

DC just solicited a hardcover collection of ALL 52 #1s available in December. $150.
Hedging bets much? That's only four months after the initial release.

Man "Batman: Knight Of Vengeance" is awesome (I hope it survives Flashpoint).
The end of #2 was a shock to say the least

I didnt think anything was surivivng Flashpoint in terms of the Superhero comics?
Has there been any news in regards on how the Wildstorm characters are going to be coming in? Will we just be pretending they have always been part of the DCU? Any news on their powers or abilities, will they be downgraded, will they still have the same characterisation, will two of them still be a gay couple?

Mr. Terrific's still around and kicking. they just announced James Robinson's Shade miniseries and I don't know HOW that could happen without a JSA. mark my words, "Superman and Batman have only been around for 5 years" and "Superman's the first superhero" are this generation's "Superman was never Superboy and was never in the Legion of Superheroes, and he's the only Kryptonian". Batman in particular makes no sense because Damien's gotta be like 12-13 at least.

Well, that's one good thing then I suppose. Not that series will last beyond a year, as Cornell is cursed like that, but yeah.
Even with the series I am willing to give a chance, I shall still be dropping more than I'm picking up from DC.

Regarding the "Superman is single now" news.......i'm totally shipping Supes/Bats. The sexual tension has been between them for years.

Well, since you guys are going down that road, and I'm currently in a discussion elsewhere about this topic:
How is Tim Drake a closet gay in the DCU?
See, there's this big thing about how Dan Didio did an interview for The Advocate about gay characters the the new DCU, and when asked about including a gay member of the Titans, he said this:
So, the main issue is that it'd be easy to make Tim Drake come out, and you could have a gay leader of a team. Now, I'm no Drake historian, and only read a few books with him (Face the Face, Red Robin series), so maybe someone can tell me what made him the go to guy here.

Can't really answer that since the only DC comics i've read in the past 5 years is The Flashpoint storyline. But I could see them rebooting Tim Drake as a gay leader of the Titans.

I'm not seeing where he mentioned Tim in that quote. In fact he pretty much says exactly the opposite that any character would be a new character.

His deep love of broadway musicals and the complete works of Robert Mapplethorpe? Just kidding I really have no clue.

OK, so basically a lot of explosions and cliche dialogue with lines like "Wow! I have NEVER met anyone like YOU!"
And why is Batman fighting ALIENS? Five years ago? Huh?
This is getting so bad, I cannot even joke about it.
