As of yesterday, I decided that I cut down on my spending. I feel like I've been doing too much lately and feel that I need to resolve this. I was even contemplating that this would be my New Year's Resolution before the year ended, but I am only a couple of weeks in, but I still have time to resolve it. I am not going to stop, but I just need to cut down, especially on my habit of collecting comic books. But I will still check Amazon to find good enough deals for certain DVDs from time to time, I just won't be buying as much as I did before.
But since I have gift cards to Best Buy and Walmart, I will use them on some things in the near future.

Do most of the new DVD's have the boxes on the side like the high flyers dvd? I am thinking of picking up the Raw seasons 1 & 2 DVD but not if has those. Same with rumored Nitro DVD

The Jericho DVD may be the best WWE-produced item they have ever came out with.

Just came back from Wal-Mart, and picked up a two-pack: the 2009 & 2010 Royal Rumble DVD's for $10! Nothing real special about the box they were put in, but it is a real bargain, and might become rare, so SNAP THEM UP! I went and picked this up on your tip. They also had Extreme Rules 2009 and 2010 for $10 as well. It seems to be a reformatting of Tagged Classics (same cardboard box with the original amaray cases from single releases), called "WWE Premium Value Pack" with respective events from consecutive years rather than consecutive events. It would seem possible that the rest of 09/10 PPVs save Mania might be released this way. EDIT: Here's what they look like: Additionally, I've received the following from my latest order with GoHastings: No Mercy 04 One Night Stand 06 (Two disc, with ECW: Barely Legal) December to Dismember Great American Bash 04 (really disappointed about this because I received it instead of Tagged Classics: Vengeance 04/Great American Bash 04). New Year's Revolution 07 Summerslam 08 Great American Bash 08 Armageddon 04 No Mercy 07

One Night Stand 06 is a great deal, if not for the most heated main event in history but because of Barely Legal included on the second disc. I really love that package, they really went all out by including a real ECW PPV on there and I love that they did.

Same with rumored Nitro DVD I'm not totally sure what you mean, but Raw S1-2 has two individual DVD cases that have two discs inside each one. Kind of unique packaging for WWE sets, but I do think it works out pretty well. It's housed in by a slipcase to hold them in, if that's what you mean. Highest Flyers, at least the one I have, has the standard foldout style they have done most of their multiple-disc sets in without any box on the outside.

I don't know if I said this yet, but I wish WWE would make Tagged Classics out of their HD PPV's on Blu-Ray.

I'm watching Mania of Wrestlemania right now and I have 2 thoughts:
1. It'd be really cool to see this on blu ray. Being shot on film it could be the only wrestling-oriented content in 1080p.
2. It'd be even more cool if they put the money/work into shooting the whole show of Mania 19 on film, and could edit together that footage into a 1080p film sourced blu ray of Mania 19.

No, I meant on the actual screen itself when you watch the DVD's. Highest flyers had like a reverse letter box on the left and right sides of the screen that i found wicked distracting.

No, I meant on the actual screen itself when you watch the DVD's. Highest flyers had like a reverse letter box on the left and right sides of the screen that i found wicked distracting. That's because as of I believe the Hart and Soul set, all of the WWE DVD's have been produced in a widescreen format. For example, the Steamboat DVD had dragons on either side of the screen and the Satan's Anthology just had a green Elimination Chamber subtext on either side. What happens is that you have your matches, most of them are in 1:33 full-screen. They are in the center. On a flat screen set, you still have :22 on either side, and therefore instead of black, they put up artwork/graphics so the screen is filled. Disney has used this to good effect in older films like Fantasia and Snow White on their Blu-Ray releases. To add a little clarification, I got Hart and Soul today, and its in fullscreen . I think Steamboat might have been the first one to go widescreen, which is sad IMO.

I really hope those are sealed. not for value reasons, but to shield yourself from the sheer horror lol. Anyways Royal Rumble 2001 showed up today, its in excellent condition. Divas Undressed also showed up, and its staying sealed. If it hadn't only cost me 6 bucks, with shipping included, I wouldn't have bought it. But its supposed to be rare or something so who knows.
Now that I have Royal Rumble 2001, I have every PPV from 2001 and 2002 on DVD, Including No Way Out 2001 since its part of those Tagged Classics I bought.

In a way, I want to get that RAW Diva Search DVD, but what is it exactly? Is it like a documentary-type of program that has footage from RAWs that had Diva Search segments from 2004? Or was it that special that aired on Spike back in the summer of 2004?
Anyway, I am skeptical about Diva DVDs. I already talked about Diva DVDs that I would get, but are they bad? I wouldn't mind getting Divas Undressed, as I actually did watch that special on TNN/Spike back in 2002, even if it meant staying up late to watch it. But the other ones like South of the Border, Desert Heat, Tropical Pleasure, Divas in Hedonism, Divas Do New York, Viva Las Divas, and that Postcard From The Carribean VHS, I heard that some of those were a waste, a couple of others had matches as extras.

Speaking of Hart and Soul, I got it in the mail today, and because of that promotion before New Year's, got it for a scant $12.17 including tax and no shipping. While I'm disappointed about the title being full screen (I thought it was wide), the documentary is good and the matches are a good compliment (if your collection isn't too big).

Finally got my hands on Breaking The Code, and have finished the first disc. As someone who's never bought a WWE DVD set before, I'm really impressed. The first disc alone seems worth the money. The documentary was long and fairly comprehensive, covering pretty much every base of his career. Really interesting to watch, and I'll have to get Jericho's book soon. The only thing I think the documentary missed was not talking to Stephanie when discussing their feud. Would have loved to hear her opinions on it, and on Jericho in general. But overall, loved it. Showed me quite a lot of stuff I haven't seen before. Wish I'd been around to see more of Jericho's WCW career.
Got two more discs to go, looking forward to it.

You know WWE makes crappy things look better than they are on DVD, right? If you watched it during the time it aired, it would have been a human struggle to get through No the crappy thing is that it's hosted by todd grisham. He is just awful if you thought he sucked it up as an announcer this is like 10 times worse. In a way, I want to get that RAW Diva Search DVD, but what is it exactly? Is it like a documentary-type of program that has footage from RAWs that had Diva Search segments from 2004? Or was it that special that aired on Spike back in the summer of 2004? The whole documentary is an hour & 24 min It has bios (some with photoshoot footage) and interviews with all the hopefuls as well as recap style videos for all the girls and goes week by week. One of the extras is the complete Pie Eating contest segment with The Rock once he comes out. Oddly enough his comment about the weed in anaheim to that loud fan is totally not censored. EGADS!!!!!!!! What have they done to my gimmick Battle Royal? ? I'm watching disc 2 of Bobby Heenans and immidiately I hear Theodore R. Long's nwa/wcw theme instead of tutti frutti for Mean Gene. Heenan's got new music........ Kamala's got new music........ Jim Cornette's got new music........ Nikolai Volkoff's got new music........ {Spoiler}The one that was supposed to go to Vladimir Kozlov during his double double E days Hillbilly Jim's got new music........ For some reason they cut out part of Brother Love's entrance and cut to a shot of a guy adjusting mean gene's wires and removes one from off his jacket Alritey then........ I think i'll stick to watching it on my WM X7 dvd thank you very much.
