Count all the money you want, the point stands it wasnt universally loved nor did everyone change their mind on it. Ledger played what he was given well, but what he was given was no Joker I wanted to see See...I'm cool with this stance because it's the same one I hold in regards and relations to most of the CRAP that Marvel has churned out with their X-line. Origins: Wolverine might just be the MOST "spitting in the face of history" they've done yet....which will only be topped by XMEN First Class and it's utter lack of regard for not only COMIC continuity, but it's OWN SERIES continuity as well. I'm of the opinion that I'd rather have, say, a slightly different, yet MORE menacing Joker (with the facial scars or without...Ledger's take is awesome) than a goofy "I bought my costume from K-Mart's Kid Section" Magneto. Somehow, Ian McKellen made that outfit WORK, and yet Fassbender's version of it looks....so god DAMN cheap it's embarrassing. Especially with the rest of the outfit.

Interesting take; I'm curious to see more than one still.
Ledger's Joker was no more 'wrong' than Nicholson's, or Romero's, or Hamil's. They're just different versions; but the core of the character was there.
Your mileage may vary on which one you prefer understandably; I loved em all for different reasons.

Also, I honestly don't know how well Mckellen made the outfit work; at least for me personally the helmet always looked sorta goofy, and while Ian brought the right actor gravitas to the role, he always seemed way too frail for Magneto in my view.
But again, different version of the character, and I appreciated it for what it was.

My votes would have been either Jurgen Prochnow or Rutger Haur. But I'm glad they got McKellen. Loved his sardonic response to Pyro too when Pyro called him on how "goofy" that helmet looked.

Bane looks fine to me. Given how much I've liked how all of Nolan's villains have looked so far I think I'm gonna be happy with the end result of this flick.

I saw this today and thought I'd pass it along to anyone who maybe hasn't seen it. I hope it's in the same vein for what they did for The Dark Knight, with the videos and such from The Joker. I thought that was real neat and I had fun with it. It helped make me more excited for the movie to come out. blog.moviefone.com/2011/06/02/dark-knight-rises-viral-videos/

The fan who made them came out and said as much. I do hope they go viral though. And soon. We need tidbits, Nolan! Tidbits!

Major Spoiler To Follow: {Spoiler}Liam Neeson was on set this week, reprising his role as Ra's al Ghul. No word on how big his role is, if it's a flashback or modern day, or anything else really

This Sunday, I'm heading into Pittsburgh. They're doing extras casting. I'd love to have a microsecond of screentime in a Batman movie. ;D

If you're implying that people who hated the first Joker picture ended up loving it, you're wrong. No. I was implying that the people who first hated the Joker LOOK based off of the first picture, ending up loving it after watching the movie. Halloween 2008 was proof.

Don't know if anyone's interested, but this is my official report on extras casting.
Showed up at 2:30. There was a line around a quarter of the building. As me and my buddy stood there, the line grew behind us. We have no idea how far exactly the line went.
As we stood in line, some cute girls handed out free 5 Hour Energy drinks to whomever wanted them. My buddy accepted for the hell of it, I declined.
Someone who works for the casting agency came outside, looked at the length of the line, and said "Holy shit!" Again, this is someone FROM THE CASTING AGENCY. You'd think they would've expected this.
We showed our ID, we got handed paperwork to fill out. Name, phone number, clothing sizes, availability. Etc. Etc. Etc.
Got handed a 4 page pamphlet, describing what they do and don't want from their extras. Apparently I'm supposed to register online with the casting agency, too.
4:00-ish we get into the hotel, take a winding path to a ballroom FILLED with seats. They seat us starting at the back and work towards the front (so the people that were in line the longest had to sit furthest back...needless to say, the feeling was "what the f***?").
The "holy shit" lady from earlier is apparently IN CHARGE of this whole operation. She gives a 30 minute speech, basically reiterating what the 4 page pamphlet said, but with added emphasis. She made a big deal about how important it is to refer to the movie by its working title, rather than the official title...this was odd, considering every news story I've seen/read about the casting blew the secret. Whatever, I'm not in charge.
We line up to get our pictures taken, starting with the people in the back of the room, moving forward. So they're seating arrangement actually made sense, so they could clear the room out quicker and easier.
Got my picture taken twice, handed in my paperwork, and was told to have a nice day. Walked out the door and saw the next GIGANTIC line of people waiting.
I won't know if I'll be called to be an extra for some time. They begin calling people at the end of the month at the earliest, though they may not call until the day before they need somebody. And if they don't call at all... *shrug* at least I tried.

So I assume this Bane won't be hooked on Venom with tubes coming out of his neck? He will instead just be the bad ass beat down version.
Either that or this image is of him still in prison before the Venom experiment?

No one knows yet. Although I sincerely hope they make Bane to be Batman's equal in terms of intelligence though.

This is making the rounds as a plot spoiler, but most of us expected it: {Spoiler}Bane breaks Batman's back in their first fight.

Wow...I went to the Superman extra casting call and it only took at least 2 hours. All we did was wait in line, fill out a quick sheet and get our picture taken and that was it.
