My dream scenario would be Nolan utilizing Bane as a lethal and brutal intellectual fighter who releases all the criminals in Arkham, letting Batman work himself to near death in capturing them all, and the eventual showdown would show Bane paralyzing him.
Much like in the comics and maybe in the film we can actually explore Bruce battling his own demons in terms of doubt, guilt over his parents deaths, feeling as though he can no longer protect Gotham, and eventually has to look within himself to rise once more.
I trust Nolan will create an epic and brilliant film, but the fanboy in me wants him to go all out and just do something that tops The Dark Knight in terms of cinematic history, quality, suspense, and intensity. I also want him to break the trilogy curse as I feel The LOTR, Star Wars, and Die Hard are the only films that haven't suffered the trilogy curse.

I'd actually do the movie in two parts with the first ending with Bats being broken by Bane. Then have him come back in the second movie released a year later.

Source: blog.zap2it.com/pop2it/2011/01/report-robin-williams-cast-in-the-dark-knight-rises-as-dr-hugo-strange.htmlCasting rumors keep trickling in for "The Dark Knight Rises," the upcoming third film in Christopher Nolan's Batman series. On Saturday, unconfirmed reports surfaced that Robin Williams may be the man for the role of Dr. Hugo Strange. While no plot details have been officially released, many insiders have suggested that in the film, psychotic psychologist Dr. Strange will be tapped by the Gotham police forces to help track and capture Batman (Christian Bale). Williams was up for roles in previous Batman films in the 1990s, but never accepted the offers. However, last summer he told reporters that he'd love to work in Nolan's Batman universe. "I would do Batman in a second," he said. "I'd play The Riddler in the next one, although it would be hard to top Heath Ledger as the villain and I'm a little hairy for tights." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oh please, please let this happen! Make it happen Nolan!

But Nolan has stated this is his last Batman film and that he's concluding his story. Unless they throw a bunch of money at him then I agree with your breakdown of the story.

No one has anything to say about the rumor of Robin Williams possibly playing Hugo Strange? He's been rumored endlessly for Batman roles. I think we aren't holding our breath.

But he's been rumored for roles that everyone and their mother had to know he wouldn't be casted for. At least this rumor makes a little sense. But I guess we'll see what happens.

I'm not sure he couldn't have been casted for some of the Batman roles he was up for. He was up for Joker both times I believe, could've worked for either and he worked with Nolan before as a serial killer in Insomnia. Ridler in the Schumacher Batman Forever wouldn't have been any worse than Jim Carrey.

Ok, now I'm gettig worried. They're trying to cram too much into this film. Eh. Dark Knight had a lot going on too. They don't say anything about what Levitt will be doing, or Hardy for that matter. Bane could just be a set-up fight in the start of the film like Scarecrow was, or maybe Levitt is just a supporting role. Nothing to worry about yet.

Britney Murphey would have been PERFECT as Harley.

Ok, now I'm gettig worried. They're trying to cram too much into this film. The Dark Knight had The Joker, Two-Face, and the Scarecrow in it without being crowded. It's all about structure.

Fans will be pissed if Bane was just a set up fight like Scarecrow was in The Dark Knight. If anything Bane needs to be one of the main threats in this film.

Didn't Nolon go on record saying that he wouldn't be bringing Robin into this series?
