Cena won this week in my eyes. Rock said some great stuff too but I rolled my eyes at Kung Pow Bitch. Rock's at a point where he could call Cena a faggot and everyone would eat out of his hand. I've never been a big fan of Rock because of this reason, while Cena throws a bunch of real stuff on the table, it seems like Rock takes it, and simply comes up with a new word to call him. I can't blame him because it works, but to me it's just not fun to watch him stand around and posture for 15 minutes of a 20 minute promo. It's amazing that he can captivate people, but it's not fun to watch when you really wanna see this angle kick into high gear.

Mick Foley @realmickfoley Close That promo felt kind of uncomfortable to watch. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Maybe @realddp can tell me. BANG!

I can't believe that so many people are actually clinging to the theory that Rock is going easy on Cena. I mean COME ON. Why is it hard to believe? He slaughtered Billy Gunn like nobody we've ever seen. You mean to tell me that he can't go after Cena with all the ammo he HAS to have ready for him? Come on, man. Rock can go harder than that, and probably would have, if he was allowed to. People need to remember that they've had A YEAR to plan this thing out and to think over every detail. You mean to tell me that the Rock has a year to think up a killer promo and that is the best he can do? No f***ing way. He had a good answer for Cena's sellout charge. I'd say Rock went all out tonight.

The Rock Apologists are in full force! Isn't it possible that Rock just doesn't have his promo magic like he used to? He can capture the crowd, no doubt, but in an intelligent battle of words, he doesn't have all that much to say. He's pandering to the older Attitude Era crowd, by calling Cena a "bitch" all the time (we see this in TNA a lot too). Its like he's regressed to the point where its only a good promo if the fans chant a bunch of stupid phrases that they normally wouldn't. Rock wouldn't come back and suck on purpose to make John Cena look good. He's doing what he thinks is right, by showing off how much the fans love him compared to Cena. In the end though, fans want a little more today than catchphrases, we want substance too. Both guys have had the same point for over a year, but Cena keeps coming out and killing it while pretty much stands in the ring and asks people to chant things. truth - thanks for educating the lowbrow Two and a half men-fans that enjoy childish jokes and catchphrases

Rock. He deconstructed Cena's (& by proxy "the boys") dumb argument easily by mentioning that he was there wrestling every day like they are. That he loves wrestling, like they do. He won me over completely when he mentioned that Macho, Piper, Stone Cold, Mick & himself got where they were through their effort, not by "having the boys speak for them." I LOVED that he mentioned that he got booed worse than Cena did when he was a face and got "Rocky sucks." I'm stretching a bit, but I think Rock's mention of the classic wrestlers plays right with Jericho, HHH & Undertaker being the "last of a dying breed." Nice touch. Cena got a good jab in with the crib notes, but he comes off as such a f***ing knob to me. His whole "I'm doing it for the wrestlers in the back" stuff is so aggravating to me, the "Rock wouldn't care if WWE folded up tomorrow" line was bad too. But him just walking out irked me the most. I get he dropped a #pipebomb, but when someone comes after you like Rock did & when you've been calling him out, stay out there for the whole segment. No face I could think of would just walk out after they made a great argument or were in a blood feud. Not Austin, not Michaels, not Steamboat, no face would just walk out like Cena did. And why not walk out? Rock's just gonna keep doing his shtick regardless. And that's what he did.

People are making this out to be something it isn't.
Rocky had an off night. Cena did not.
Rocky isn't going easy on Cena. He was just off. Flair didn't nail every promo, nor did Austin or Piper. People can have off nights on the mic.
If this becomes a pattern, I might be inclined to believe that this is a work. Until then, Rocky was off and Cena cut another great promo.

One small thing; he used Roddy Piper as the "knockout punch" when listing off Wrestlers, when he clearly should've used Randy Savage.
Oh, and Triple H had a LOT of people fighting for him.

Cena won this round...however, he ultimately won't be able to make the huge majority of the crowd go against The Rock. No matter what he says, most of the crowd is still Team Rock. I just don't think he's a sellout in the face of the fans. The majority of fans just don't sympathise with Cena and "the boys". I know I don't. All that matters is they're happy the Rock is back. It ain't about politics for most of them... Pretty much. I couldnt care less if Rock was reading that s*** off a teleprompter, Im sick of Cena and hes pussy be a star BS and Make a Wish s***. I watch to be Entertained and Cena fails miserably at that. Cena is nothing but one of the whiner fans that think Rock is a sellout. This is why I like Cena, how can you really say that things, not about the TV character, but the real guy? he is s*** because he do charity, really?

He called Cena tired and stale and that the fans hated him. Is that not what most people say about him?
How is that going easy? That would be unheard of for anyone else to say that to someone on Cena's level.

John Cena calling this out, in a valiant voice of the people?

He just said that he sucks in a funny way. Cena has too much credibility to say he sucks. He's tried and tried to "own" him, and he can't do it, because fans want more than some random phrase with the word "bitch" in it these days. Are you making bad points on purpose, to make other people in this thread look good?

I can't believe that so many people are actually clinging to the theory that Rock is going easy on Cena. I mean COME ON. You come on. You act as if this whole feud is not one big rehab of John Cena and his character. Everything in the last year has been designed with the intent of fixing what was broken and winning people back. Rock's sole purpose is to put Cena over on every level, because unlike Rock, Cena's got to carry the company after April 1st. It's not a shoot. It's written SPECIFICALLY the way it unfolded. What happened was MEANT to happen. No one sent John out there spontaneously. Rock did what was asked of him -- as he always has. They, by design, want Cena an equal to Rock. They never wanted Cena to look like shit in this thing. What would be the point of that?

"Dwayne Johnson wouldn't give a damn if this company closed its doors tomorrow." I'm still waiting for a response on that one from anybody. Maybe he would feel sad that it closed down but unlike everyone else in the WWE, he doesn't need the WWE to get the big bucks. In fact the WWE needs The Rock.

I want some wrestler to tell Cena that he doesn't speak for "all the boys in the back", and to stop acting like it.

The Rock Apologists are in full force! Rock wouldn't come back and suck on purpose to make John Cena look good. Good god...I cant believe im having to post this.. Yeah he would. That's what wrestlers do. There's a reason why in every ric flair match theres a spot where the babyface beats flair up to the point where he begs off like a coward. There's a reason why ric flair has a spot where he gets his trunks pulled down and it exposes his ass to the crowd. That's like wrestling 101. There's one person who is written to be upstaged by another.

Dead at the whole twatter trending thing. They need to get rid of that. They have bled it so dry, it's lame. They are coming off as real lames.
The crowd are like sheep. Whatever the Rock feeds them, they eat. It's disgusting. Zombies, Drones etc... mindless hacks!
The Rock is the new Kevin Nash for promos! He bombed tonight. Juan Cena won this one meng.

Stammering about trending, something that WWE knows a lot of fans find fake/obnoxious? John Cena calling this out, in a valiant voice of the people? lol people also forget that Dwayne Johnson has been a professional actor for over 7 years now. And this is wrestling on top of that... you can't just assume that every reaction he's having is real. He's an actor. A wrestler and an actor more so than any other guy on the roster.

I view tonight's tete-a-tete as if I were walking into a cinema last summer. In one theater is "The Hangover Part II" (The Rock). I know it's going to make me laugh, I know I'm going to enjoy it, but at the end of the day, it's just the exact same thing I saw years back, with a few lines changed here and there. In the other theater is "Super 8" (John Cena). I've seen similar incarnations before, but it's got some substance behind it and I'd rather give that a shot, because, while I run the risk of hating it in the end, I'd rather give it a curious try.
