Why is it hard to believe? He slaughtered Billy Gunn like nobody we've ever seen. You mean to tell me that he can't go after Cena with all the ammo he HAS to have ready for him? Come on, man. Rock can go harder than that, and probably would have, if he was allowed to. People need to remember that they've had A YEAR to plan this thing out and to think over every detail. You mean to tell me that the Rock has a year to think up a killer promo and that is the best he can do? No f***ing way. Rock was on fire at that time. It was Billy Gunn. He just said that he sucks in a funny way. Cena has too much credibility to say he sucks. He's tried and tried to "own" him, and he can't do it, because fans want more than some random phrase with the word "bitch" in it these days. Are you making bad points on purpose, to make other people in this thread look good? I dunno man, the live crowd still loved it, regardless. Not being a "Rock apologist", I'm on Cenas side here. Just saying he can still work the crowd.

I'd say Rock went all out tonight. He had good answers for everything Cena said in the past, and that's why I think they played it perfectly. Cena finally had something other than "I'm here and you're not" to say, and they waited until The Rock has answered everything and was playing to the audience to bide to the time to have Cena say it, throwing his digs in and catching at just the right time. They made Cena look like a million bucks, and Cena finally did something I'd been wanting him to do the entire time, say something with meat.

Rock seems unwilling to cut loose like Cena does for whatever reason. We know he can do it because he did it in in his YT promo but for whatever reason he seems more interested in getting things trending on twitter. As the guy a bit above me rightly pointed out, Rock seems to be in a kayfabe feud and Cena is letting it all out no holds barred

I dont know what to say other then Cena won the promo war tonight. And it seems like Cena can get the fans on his side if he sticks to this minimalist approach. Less is more for Cena apparently.
But i have a hard time believing that The Rock didn't have the ammo to kill Cena. He can easily go to a smarky forum and find pages and pages of Ammunition. And people fail to point out that The Rock barely spoke in Third Person tonight, thats very awkward of him to do so.
I will agree with the people that side with Cena though, im getting irritated by the stupid twitter remarks. And i really despise him posturing for a long amount of time. When he speaks, the people shut up. When he leaves a wide open 3 or 4 minute period, Hes giving the people too much time to chant. Then he waits until the chants die down, instead of just speaking.

I want some wrestler to tell Cena that he doesn't speak for "all the boys in the back", and to stop acting like it. Eh, maybe, just maybe, he does speak for a majority of them.

The Rock Apologists are in full force! Rock wouldn't come back and suck on purpose to make John Cena look good. Good god...I cant believe im having to post this.. Yeah he would. That's what wrestlers do. There's a reason why in every ric flair match theres a spot where the babyface beats flair up to the point where he begs off like a coward. There's a reason why ric flair has a spot where he gets his trunks pulled down and it exposes his ass to the crowd. That's like wrestling 101. There's one person who is written to be upstaged by another. If this feud was just Rock making Cena look like a chump in every single promo, people would complain that it's all one-sided. Variety is the spice of life, they need to have both of 'em look strong.

I wish they'd pick a single topic to make this feud about. I don't even remember what legitimate criticisms Cena has against The Rock other than "you left before I allowed you to"

Sorry, but it mostly put me to sleep. We've waited all that time for The Rock to return to RAW only to hear him get nostalgic, stutter and buy into whatever lame thing he says (kung pow bitch) is going to automatically trend on Twitter?
Cena coming out and owning Rock in less than a minute truly saved that horrible segment.
I think if Rock pretended Cena was Billy Gunn the whole time, he would've been much more entertaining.

Pretty much. I couldnt care less if Rock was reading that s*** off a teleprompter, Im sick of Cena and hes pussy be a star BS and Make a Wish s***. I watch to be Entertained and Cena fails miserably at that. Cena is nothing but one of the whiner fans that think Rock is a sellout. This is why I like Cena, how can you really say that things, not about the TV character, but the real guy? he is s*** because he do charity, really? Sorry but i couldnt care less. Im fine with him doing that outside the ring but when you make it apart of your character you just become a bitch to me. Its like Undertaker doing a be a star promo and then coming out on WWE television as Mark and talking about bullying and shit.

And maybe, just maybe, he comes off as disingenuous to them for actually accepting and being in the match instead of working with the guys who are there every night. That's the fun part about speculation, it can be spun in any which way.

Did he not spend a summer feuding with green rookies? Did he not spend a summer helping Punk become a legit main eventer? Have I imagined the other locker room leaders (Punk,Orton) trash the Rock and praise Cena?

This is fantastic, people are literally choosing sides. This is what the WWE wants, we are all sheep being worked. This is all being planned to a T lol.

The thing is, Rock can counter the things Cena says, because he tries to say things with some substance, even if they can be debated. Cena can't do a back and forth in the same way when Rock's not there, because Rock never leaves him with anything better than "fruity pebbles/kung pow/lady parts lol".

I can't believe that so many people are actually clinging to the theory that Rock is going easy on Cena. I mean COME ON. You come on. You act as if this whole feud is not one big rehab of John Cena and his character. Everything in the last year has been designed with the intent of fixing what was broken and winning people back. Rock's sole purpose is to put Cena over on every level, because unlike Rock, Cena's got to carry the company after April 1st. It's not a shoot. It's written SPECIFICALLY the way it unfolded. What happened was MEANT to happen. No one sent John out there spontaneously. Rock did what was asked of him -- as he always has. They, by design, want Cena an equal to Rock. They never wanted Cena to look like s*** in this thing. What would be the point of that? This. The essence of the business is still all there. Cena & the Cenation will have another week to brag. This feud is going great so far.

That's the fun part about speculation, it can be spun in any which way. If you think about it, Cena's "boys in the back" thing doesn't make sense. Wouldn't Rock leaving make another spot available to someone new? I don't get it.
