I think people put way too much emphasis on this line. Beth was just being a heel, trying to gain sympathy, despite not deserving any. And it was never mentioned again so it wasn't meant to really mean anything. I'm pretty sure most fans have forgotten all about it. I'm sure I would have too if I didn't see it constantly being brought up.
I believe the point they were trying to make was that she was a hypocrite trying to get the face GM out for the heel one because she had been bullying the Divas locker room for the last couple of months.
Mark Henry was doing the exact same thing. They're heels. They often are hypocrites. It's nothing new.
