Is she the only face diva that means anything? It looks like shes getting another shot at the title against Beth which i could see her winning, and then more then likely start a feud with Eve.Shes the only face thats been pushed for so long now, does anyone else care about the others? I dont even rememeber who is face or not,Tamina,Alicia and Kaitlyn are stuck on NXT not doing a lot,Aksana is a valet,no idea what Nikki Bella is right now, ditto with Natalya.
I dont dislike Kelly personally, but i guess it says something about the womens division when she is top babyface and is the only face diva that really gets time on any of the top shows, when she is probably the least talented in the ring, imo. Why is she pushed so hard? What is it the WWE love about her?

AJ's also a face right now (or at least I think she is).
There's also Layla who's hurt but is coming back soon.

.Why is she pushed so hard? What is it the WWE love about her? She's the most over Diva with casual fans, by far. Kids love her, much like they love Cena. I went to a show last year and you should've heard all the kids going crazy when she came out, it was almost surprising.

I think they're just biding time until Kharma rolls around.

Am I the only person that notices that the crowd is silent when she comes out nowadays? Maybe a year ago, she was popular (not that much anyways) But now people don't care. Hell Eve an AJ now gets a better reaction than her, but I guess people don't seem to care.

I would imagine AJ isn't viewed as that good of a babyface these days by WWE, just like Miss Elizabeth wouldn't have been had people laughed and cheered when Randy Savage would treat her like crap.

A diva getting pushed really means nothing in todays WWE. Pretty much every diva gets a few months where they are made to look important, regardless of how talented or over they are. It just happens to now be Kelly Kelly's turn.

I'd say Kelly is--atm--the only diva that really means anything. Eve comes in at a close second, with Beth only having visibility for carrying the title. I predict Beth dropping the title to Kelly through a 3v3 with Eve, Kelly and Beth, and then Eve and Kelly feuding over the title for a while.

I think Layla is liked enough to where when she returns she'll be the top face.

I think Layla is liked enough to where when she returns she'll be the top face. I would really be surprised if this happened because before she left she got nothing but crickets and her last match against Michelle the crowd didn't care. They sat on their hands. She really was not over. She may be now for a nostalgia pop though when they hear her music...but she was not getting crowd reactions solo as a face, people were indifferent towards her unless Michael Cole insulted her. Can see this easily by going back to watch those segments in 2011.

Kelly has a connection with a good portion of the fanbase, the rest of the divas don't. It's really that simple.

She did an interview at Axxess and said she had been cleared to return.

They didn't like Michelle, but they also didn't see a reason to cheer for Layla. I think once she returns, she'll work more as a face and the crowd will get used to it. Kind of like when Melina returned from her injury in 2008.

Kind of like when Melina returned from her injury in 2008. I can see that argument, but really if Laycool were as over as we now think of them in the first place (I admit they were getting great heat tormenting Mickie James) the split would not have been greeted with massive indifference by the majority of fans, and people would have been really into the match at Extreme Rules. Layla should also have been able to pull off the sympathetic babyface angle against the long detested Michelle, who most fans considered at the very least to be overbearing and obnoxious. But she couldn't do that. I don't blame that on booking or writing, that is down to the wrestler. These kinds of splits are formulaic and have been around since the golden era of wrestling. I understand that people like Layla, but that kind of thing is down to the performer. It shouldn't be so hard for someone to split from an annoying heel tag team after their leader turns on them to become a cheered face. But it was...and it's because she just wasn't that over. I maintain that while the IWC likes her and I think she is a great talent, her connection to the crowd was greatly exaggerated, and part of that is her fault. It can't all be on the writers, this kind of stuff isn't rocket science.

They tried pushing Eve as this Wonder Woman-like babyface, but that didn't work at all.
I don't know. They saw Kelly, saw how she looked, and invested all of their effort on pushing her. Now she's been the most over Diva for the last few years, not because it "just happened", because WWE actually PUSHED her.
Yeah, she sucks, but that's a whole other story.

I don't agree with this at all really. Kelly is over IN SPITE of creative not because of them. She got put into the match to win the divas title in the first place because fans overwhelmingly voted for her against Beth Phoenix and Eve. That was when her push started. It wasn't because Creative decided to just put her over all of the other divas for no reason. The fans voted for her and got what they wanted, Kelly as champ. That mystique did quickly deteriorate with her horrible wrestling performances as smark crowds turned against her, but she still got the biggest responses on regular RAWs not to mention free publicity doing MAXIM, Price is Right etc... which WWE loves to see. I can't stand Kelly, but she has some type of a charismatic appeal to the crowd due to her good looks that got her over when other divas could not. She also played the babyface in peril very well in other angles--which made her a good asset in Edge's world title feud...which also only happened because she was so over with the crowd. She was a jobber for like 6 years before she ever got a push for anything, and it only happened after the crowd showed an interest in her. Again--I'm not a Kelly fan, can't stand her, and wouldn't care if she was gone tomorrow--but this is what I remember happening.

However, capitalizing on that popularity did end up jeopardizing it though. Remember when they tried to push her as a serious wrestler and fans crapped on it (Crazy Kelly attacking Beth)? Ever since then, she pretty much lost that charm with the crowd, so she went straight back to status quo. Her push to the top made people realize that she sucked in the ring and today fans seems to groan when she gets a push.
