Well, Krimzon just summed the segment up absolutely perfectly. Pretty much. Hell, as a kid I got the best of a much bigger kid for 15 seconds or so by catching him unawares and going hell for leather while he was down. And then I ran like hell before he had a chance to pulverise me. The AJ/Natalya thing isn't really any different.

A thread about AJ turned into a discussion about AJ? I, for one, am SHOCKED. It's not about AJ. It's not about Nattie. They were the characters in the match, but again, it's about how this was booked. It was booked fine. The smaller wrestler got the better of somebody slightly bigger for 30 seconds, after 2 cheap shots, before they were DQ'd. It's not like AJ beat the piss out of Natalya and left her laying. Had the match gone on and AJ went for the cover right after, Nattie easily would've kicked out.

I'd agree with you if they had a furious-looking Natalya screaming at AJ after it or something, but no, she just sat in the corner with her hand over her face. She didn't look angry or bewildered, just like a total whimp.

I really cant find any reason why we should like AJ after this. Why didnt she stand up for herself against Bryan instead of jumping an innocent Natalya? Why did AJ try to get back with him knowing full well hes a jerk? People will defend her and how cute she is and all but all i see is that shes a coward that wont defend herself, that she likes jerks and she doesnt have morales that much (helping Bryan screw over Sheamus before their WM match). It's the "manic pixie dream girl" effect. She's hot, but just intentionally quirky enough to be "attainable", hence, the internet fell in love, and she can do no wrong. She's a middling talent, but "She plays Metal Gear! OMG HAWTZ!!!" saves her from obscurity. hey, according to most wrestling fans on the net you're supposed to like people who are jerks as long as there's something about them that's appealing to you. She's just doing what they'd do.

Not to mention we've also seen Stephanie McMahon and her slaps in the past. The argument could be made that Natalya wanted to make sure she didn't get knocked loopy. Or maybe she was heeling it up and wanted to protect her "pretty" face. Or maybe it was just a "Wow who the f*** saw that coming from AJ?" type of deal. There are plenty of explanations for why she'd just sit there. Here's another one: It's fake, get over it.

Though I'm not a fan of the "it's fake" line in regards to logic, things should make sense. But again, AJ just socked Natalya and even when she was in the corner, she was holding her face like, holy shit, what the f*** just happened. That's how it seemed, like, it was done pretty well actually.

One funny note though, Natalya, in almost every storyline she's involved in, she gets slapped. First Melina, then Kelly, and now AJ. In the words of Hurricane: "Whats up with that?!"

We have a 7 page thread on people arguing whether or not AJ is capable of such a specific situation against someone like Natalya. It doesn't need this much discussion. Hence why the "fake" thing works for me. Of course it's counterproductive to discussion because there shouldn't even be this much discussion. Why did no one care when a bunch of Japanese guys tried to chop off Val Venis's penis? Why did no one care when Kane set JR on fire? Why did no one care when X-Pac would go toe to toe with guys like Undertaker and Kane? Point is there are a lot of crazier things to bring about realism discussion than AJ beating up Natalya.

If a guy like Cody can beat the Great Khali or Mark Henry clean, then anything is possible. Size is not the only thing that matters.Heh....maybe you should tell my ex girlfriend that.

Really? 7 pages on this?
I don't think it was badly done. AJ tagged Natalya with a good shot that she wasn't ready for and took advantage of the opportunity that gave her. It's not like they stood toe to toe and AJ outslugged her.
Besides aren't there 5 words that ended the size in a fight argument (at least in WWE) for all time: Rey Mysterio World Heavyweight Champion ?

I don't think at this point that anyones going to convince you. You've got your opinions on the segment, and most people disagree with you. People have tried to explain and haven't swayed you. I think that's how this thread is going to end. "Most" on a board that is pretty heavily in favor of AJ, by people who are making this about AJ. It's not about her. It's about a tiny woman who has zero muscle mass attacking a much larger, stronger person head-on and beating them up in a completely one-sided scrap. And the onus to do something better is on the booking team. The results are, naturally, going to be skewed. Ask this to a group of people who are on neither side. I'd be interested in seeing what they have to say about it, because I'm part of that same group and I didn't like it. I've explained my views twice, from a story telling point of view and I'm on "neither" side, I like both perfomers. What I care most about is the story I'm being told. And I enjoyed both the segment and what it opened up for both characters.

It wasn't the greatest done segment, but all I can say is... "WAAAAAA!" Seriously guys, was Natalya supposed to just shrug it off? It certainly didn't look believeable, but I get the point of it, it was supposed to put over AJ snapping. Atleast it served a purpose unlike most diva segments.

Glad I could be the final piece. I'm down for an argument/discussion, but this thread just reads like a parody of angry wrestling fans. As do a lot of diva threads, particularly AJ ones. Well, no argument there, I suppose. I admit I'm not above it, but some diva arguments do get ridiculous. That said, AJ threads don't get NEARLY as bad as Melina threads used to. Agreed there...hopefully that doesn't change. It's got potential to though. For some reason, the Divas just bring out the worst in us. Discussion is one thing, but when it's just "i think this." and the response is "no. that's stupid" (understand I'm not accusing you of that) and you're quoting back and forth and seemingly trying to further the argument, it just devolves into a pissing match. As for what I do think about this, I saw zero wrong with it. AJ flipped the hell out, and caught Natalya off guard. Maybe they should have used someone else, but at the same time at least they gave Natalya the TV time, and it could lead to some type of program for her other than farting/roll ups.

3 points.
1. Don't dare compare AJ to the true talent and beauty that is Zooey Deschanel.
2.You shouldn't take out your anger and frustration on a person who wasn't the cause of it.
3. AJ should be put int the Yes Lock as punishment.
