Been playing the game and having fun but I wonder if there is any reason to keep the old version now. I have a complete collection of all the Capcom/Marvel games except Children of the Atom. I keep the old ones because they have different bosses and stages than MvC2 but I can't seem to think of any reason to keep the original MvC3. Can anyone think of any besides having them all (nearly) sitting on my shelf?

Got the game, so far only briefly tried Firebrand, Frank (One Match), Dr Strange and Phoenix Wright.
So far they look fun, although Phoenix Wright fighting style is very peculiar.
Firebrand could make my main team, a true contender and would fit well with Dorm and Shuma from a aesthetic point of view.

It's like holding on to Vanilla SFIV after getting SSFIV: AE, the former's completely antiquated.

I believe Firebrands Unblockable setup works well with Dorm Dark Hole assist and Mystic Ray still fills it's awesome assist slot. I've been thinking about looking into playing SHuma, seems like they fixed alot of his problems, even grown to like his new voice.

From what I remember, Multiple Man is the 'Team of One' ability and it looks like X gives an air dash ability. The rest I'm not sure.

So Strider is a true beast who works wonderfully with Dorm, will dark hole assist I can pretty much OHKO any character with 800k or less health. If I X-factor I can take out any character, his loops are amazing.

All 100 characters who will be cards in Heroes and Heralds mode: Well that's certainly one cheap, cost effective way to get in literally all the characters everyone has been clamoring for.

More info on H&H, plus a peek at what a few cards can do: Online:{Spoiler}In a nutshell, the Online mode is a week-long tournament that tallies the overall performance of two factions - Heroes and Heralds, naturally - and then crowns a winner at the end.
After choosing your side, you search for battles with the opposing faction via Quick Match, Create Match or Custom Match. The difference between fights in standard multiplayer and Heroes & Heralds mode is these matches incorporate performance-enhancing Ability Cards, and your battle outcomes are graded individually and as a group; as you play, you earn H&H points for your own ranking, but these points also contribute to your faction's total. At the end of the week, the campaign is over and the faction with the most points is declared the winner. On the losing end? Don't worry - you can switch factions at the beginning of the next week's campaign and try your luck over there.
What's in it for the victors? Well, other than bragging rights and nice placement on the leaderboards, you're also more likely to receive better Ability Cards, plus a chance at unlocking the silver-hued Herald Color for Marvel and Capcom characters. Rewards come at a quick pace, so even if you only have time for a few battles each week, you're still going to unlock new content. Offline:{Spoiler}In the offline mode, the goal is to dominate each territory on this hexagonal grid. After choosing either the Hero or Herald faction, you then hop from place to place, either defending Earth as a Hero or trying to claim it as a Herald of Galactus. Each victory brings you closer to owning that territory, and if you achieve 100% ownership of a given battleground you're rewarded with a top-notch Ability Card. However... the final battle for the last 10% is a real doozy, with brutal AI opponents armed with particularly strong Ability Cards. A tough battle, but all that playing will yield many Ability Cards for the online portion, where you're facing down other players. Thankfully, there's more to do in the offline mode than move a percentage bar. Notice the Hit List in the lower right corner - as you move from area to area, the Hit List alerts you as to which characters inhabit a given battleground. If you pay attention to this data and "take out" a full row of the Hit List, a bonus background will appear. This newly unlocked area will award even better Ability Cards, but if you lose a match on that stage, poof, the area disappears.
The Offline mode serves two purposes: one, it acts as a sort of mini-campaign for solo play, with the goal of controlling every piece of the grid; two, it lets you practice new card combinations in a results-free environment. If your cards can topple the Hit Lists and lock down 100% on a map, odds are you've discovered a rather effective mix that'll do well against human players too. Another nice aspect of the Offline mode is that you can modify decks without having to back out to the actual "Create Deck" section of Heroes & Heralds. Change cards in between matches and hop right back into the fray!
You can also hop into UMvC3's usual Training mode and test your cards out there, as well as equip the training dummies with a deck for further experimentation. Depends on what you're trying to test, in the end - if you want a dummy to pound on, or to see how an opponent's cards could affect you, Training is your mode, while the Offline campaign is good for battling tough AI enemies who can actually react to your deck. Ace Attorney Ability Cards:{Spoiler}The A-B-C icons in the upper left corner of each card indicate its rank, with C designating common cards, B slightly less common and A fairly uncommon. Think of A-rank cards as the "rare" card in a collectible card game - they're potentially better than the rest, but are harder to come across while playing Heroes & Heralds mode. Then there are S-Rank cards, but we'll let you discover those on your own... Before we jump into the card info, there's one other important aspect to discuss - Primary and Secondary effects. As you can see in the screen above, Juggernaut has a star hovering over his art. That means he's been set as the Primary card in the deck; every card has different abilities when in Primary or Secondary position, so if Servbot were made the Primary card instead of Jugs, their bonuses would change accordingly. Lots to consider for your deck, perhaps best explained with today's three examples! GODOT (Trials and Tribulations, 2007) Primary slot: Switch Hyper Combo gauges with your opponent upon activation of X-Factor Secondary slot: When you have only one character remaining and their vitality is 50% or less, HC gauge will refill automatically [Lv 1] Now, what's that [Lv 1] all about? Some abilities have various iterations, and are represented by level designations. The Godot card, for example, has a Level 1, or weakest, version of this HC gauge ability. This implies there's an Ability Card out there with a Level 2 and possibly Level 3, so keep an eye out. MILES EDGEWORTH (Ace Attorney, 2005) Primary: Gain a fixed amount of HC gauge upon activation of X-Factor [Lv 3] Secondary: Gain a fixed amount of HC gauge upon activation of X-Factor [Lv 2] With a B rank, Edgeworth is slightly tougher to come across, but the Level 3 benefit is clear. This is also a case of a card having the same ability that changes intensity based on where it rests on your deck. Primary is Level 3, while Secondary is Level 2. FRANZISKA VON KARMA (Justice for All, 2006) Primary: Attack strength increases as vitality decreases [Lv 3] Increases the duration of X-Factor [Lv 1] Secondary: Gain super armor when the timer reaches 30 (Uses HC gauge upon hit) [Lv 1] As an A-rank card, Fran will appear far less than the others. but with two boosts in the Primary slot, she's worth the effort. Seeing as you can earn cards in both the Online and Offline modes, it's easy to get into a "one more match" mindset, as the cards keep on coming - and any one of them could be an A card! Tomorrow, more abilities and powers.

All 100 characters who will be cards in Heroes and Heralds mode: I'd rather Mega Man be a full-on playable character.

Heroes and Heralds out today. Just start-up the game and accept the update.
Another part of the update is Phoenix Wright getting nerfed, and his assists in Turnabout mode are no longer invinsible. Also, he now says "Take That!" instead of "Take This!" in the Ace Attorney Hyper Combo
In other news, the Anicent Warrior DLC pack, which had alternates of Firebrand, Arthur and Hulk has been delayed from tomorrow to March 6th. Magneto, who was also included in the pack, will not be updated with his formerly announced House of M alternate, possibly due to its likeness with King Juan Carlos’ iconic military attire. The package will see a reduced price, which should be disclosed as we get closer to the new release date.
