I wasn't following the online reactions at the time, but how did people feel about how Nolan used Two-Face in the film? The general consensus seemed to be that Eckhart deserved a supporting actor nod along with Ledger. I though his performance was a bit too over the top, honestly. It kind of was, though I think he was more deserving of the award than Ledger was.

Besides, people are only complaining about Bane because he's a hard to understand-white Rey Mysterio- with a goatse mask.
No, I haven't seen Bronson, I have no urge to see it after the trailer either.

I don't think there was much pre-release chatter about the character because he wasn't an advertised feature of the movie. Well, Harvey Dent was, but not Two-Face.

Two Face deserved more screen time or at least should have been the sequel hook for a third movie. That said Aaron Eckhart performance shits all over Tommy Lee Jones who was a surprising let down.

It at least fit the tone of the movie. Plus, the opening lines were pretty bad ass. "One man is born a hero, his brother a coward. Babies starve, politicians grow fat. Holy men are martyred, and junkies grow legion. Why? Why, why, why, why, why?Luck! Blind, stupid, simple, doo-dah, clueless luck!"

Dent should have been scarred in TDK and become Two Face full on in TDK rises.
I would have preferred that because I don't really care about Bane and Catwoman.

I love Begins myself, but I do think the Batmobile and every scene involving it is stupid. Marked for that thing being destroyed in Dark Knight.

People complained left and right when Ledger was cast as the Joker. I myself was one of them. I couldn't believe that one of the Brokeback Mountain cowboys was going to be playing the part!
Then I saw The Dark Knight.....I know it's become fashionable in some circles to bash the movie now, calling it "overrated" and what not. (I can NOT put into mere, mortal words how much I loathe that word!)But I honestly believe his performance really was as good as it's said to be, and for completely shooting down any doubts I had about the last one, I have complete and total faith in Nolan, and his casting choices this time around.

I still don't care for it much, but I dislike it less than I used to, but the plot and plot holes are enormous. Dark Knight I freaking loved at first, but then I thought about it, and it is the exact opposite of Begins, the plot works, but it takes so many things to go just right down to a fraction of a second that once you think about it, the entire movie kind of falls apart. It is still fun to watch, but the story is so ridiculous. I would believe Mr. Freeze and his freeze ray before I believe Joker planned everything that perfectly. He claims to be chaos incarnate, but is actually the exact opposite, he is structure to an insane degree. Me too, he was one charming bastard in that.

One thing I remember people bitching about back in 89 was the rumor that the Joker only put on his makeup every once in a while during the film. I couldn't go into a comic book store without people going on and on about it. With this version of the film that's what he does yet I never heard or read about anyone bitching about it.
I saw a part of How The Grinch Stole Christmas (the Jim Carrey version) recently and I think he would have been an amazing Joker.
I also wish they set up Two-Face for the third film. He's my favorite Batman villian and it sucked seeing him get the short end of the stick.

Eckhart's performance of Two-Face was very chilling. I was very disappointed that Nolan killed him off, as I feel he along with Bane could've made an excellent third and final film to the trilogy.
Fans and people in general did complain about Ledger being The Joker, everything from the look being wrong, and even during the trailers I think fans and non fans were unsure of what to expect. I know one girl who refused to see any of the Batman films because Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson wasn't in them.

He deserves a faithful and darker depiction than what was presented in Batman and Robin. That was probably one of the biggest insults/adaptations next to Halle Berry's Catwoman.
