I tend to be on my own on Nolan's Batman films, in terms of opinions. I couldn't care less about more fantasy aspects, especially considering one of my favorite Batman comics is Gotham Central, but I think I'm the only one who wants a live action redemption of Robin. I think I read some where that Nolan never wanted a Robin character anyway so that's something I'm hoping for if/when they make a new series with a new director.
On topic though, Anne Hathaway is about as exciting to me as when I heard Heath Ledger was being the Joker so hey ho, I trust the director and his team.

You're not the only one, it's one of these big things in comics where you can read it that he rapes her, being that she is naked and later on Bullock says something that implies he's watching what he says, but Moore himself has said that wasn't what he intended from the scene, so I guess that's what we get

^I don't get that impression at all when I read it, but it's ambiguous so it's open to interpretation. I thought the most disturbing thing was Gordon in a cell, naked, with naked Joker henchman circus freaks.

Am I the only one who doesn't want the next series to be more fantasy oriented? I mean yeah it'd be cool to see Batman fighting Killer Croc, but I like the whole police drama aspect of it. I think the whole Nolan Batman World so far has been close to perfect. And Warner made billion from it, wich means they have the right formula. Why change it? Maybe they hate money. The only thing I would do differently is maybe cut down on the big over-the-top plot. Like the steam machine and train crash on Batman Begins and the multiple plans in Dark Knight. And make it more noir-ish small stories with Batman being the detective rather than the super-science perfect man. I would like the next movies to be similar to the direct-to-DVD animated movies that were released recently very much noir and ambiance cop stories where Batman is like a urban legend.

That works in animated form, but live action would probably get boring for the majority after a while. I believe the idea ofd bringing the comic book back, so to speak, is to attempt to gear up for a JLA film at some point far in the future. Hence the Superman reboot and the attempt at launching Green Lantern

I hated Nolan's joker from the time it was released that Heath Ledger was playing him, all the way until I hit Post Reply on this comment.

I knew Ledger would be great right from the start. He was coming off a stellar performance in (the rather unstellar) Brokeback Mountain.
I don't doubt Hardy or Hathaway either, or Nolan for that matter. He's one of those director/producers I feel like I can rely on, like the Coens, PT Anderson, Joss Whedon or JJ Abrams. I see the name, and I am rarely disappointed.
Wish I could still say the same about Spielberg and Lucas.

If I remember correctly everyone was like are you serious? The guy from a knights tale to play the joker? But then when the first pic was released people ate it up then the virals hit.

The complaining continued even after the screening. Because then it turned into "you only liked him as Joker because he died herp derp". People complained that the guy from Brokeback Mountain and 10 Things I Hate About You was playing Joker. Then Heath Ledger died. Then he was one of the greatest actors of all time, and people couldn't wait to see the movie. Then when people saw it, it was the greatest movie anyone made ever apparently. See? I personally wasn't complaining at all. I love this movie, and though Ledger was great as Joker. I was making an observation about the fan reaction, not stating a personal opinion.

People did complain at first, but then they realized Ledger was a much better actor than they gave him credit for.
Mainly because he picked some crappy flicks to be in, but his body of work prior to Dark Knight had some indie highlights that really put him on another level.
Him and JGL were tied for best young actors IMHO & with Nolan's penchant for using the same actors, you almost have to wonder if he would have got the role of Arthur in Inception

I still think it wasn't that good. I just think RDJ should have won that Oscar. That would have been awesome.
