No, you go about things the right way and talk to people in the back about it, not freaking walk out of a match on live TV, tell the boss you quit and leave the arena. WWE is actually real good about letting people go that don't like how they are being used, think they can be better used elsewhere or even listening to them and trying to address their concerns in someway if possible. Acting like a spoiled brat isn't how to get things done. I didn't see Gail do anything wrong or walk out of the match, She got bumped by Alicia and rolled out. I am proud of Gail for standing up for herself. Not Everyone is going to go to the office. If she didn't go to the office, she didn't stand up for herself. And she did walk out, freaking Alicia takes a bump, Gail drops down and rolls out of the ring. I gif'd it (see far left): That thread even has quotes from her Twitter where she bragged about it.

The amount of crap she's gotten about how she left WWE in relation to what she actually did is bewildering to me. She rolled out the ring. That's it. The way some people talk about it you'd think she did a dump in the ring and smeared TNA over the canvas. She rolled out the ring. If the news of her leaving hadn't occured afterwards, less than 0.5% of the viewers would have been aware of it. Hell, she actually followed orders to get out of the ring within a minute of the bell ringing; if she wanted to piss them off she should have stayed in the ring for as long as possible.
It wasn't professional but Jesus Christ it wasn't a big deal either.

Honestly, I've never found her to be anything special in the first place, but the manner in which she left WWE especially soured me on her - particularly when she proceeded to act like afterward she was making some huge, amazing stand. Most particularly her raging about how no one in the back even noticed, which is just stupid considering there were a lot of people in the ring at one time, and those higher-up would be a lot more concerned at any given moment about what's coming up next as opposed to what is going on at that moment.
Then there's the fact that she's really never earned a thing in wrestling - pretty much was made the first Knockouts champion just because, was handed the Women's title in her first match, and when she returned to TNA they gave her the belt back first chance they got.

Gail simply did that as a test. She wanted to see what would happen. What happened is that they didn't even notice. That told Gail exactly what she feared it would: she doesn't matter and neither did the division. As a result, she quit.

So She should have just continued to not be used and treated poorly. Right. If it were the goddesses like Trish or Lita who left like Gail they would be given excuses. According to Gail (in a interview she did right before coming back to TNA) that's exactly what she did prior to the incident. She told management that she wanted some more opportunities and pitched ideas and they'd (being Vince or Johnny Ace) say they did't have much for her to do and told her to wait it out. This went on for months until she finally asked for her release a bunch of times and they would either convince to wait a bit longer or just refuse to grant her a release. Jillian Hall had the same exact experience (according to an interview she did as well), she saw the limited shelf life of his "singer" gimmick and wanted to change her character and pitched ideas. She was told to stick it out for months as well, until she also asked for her release (several times). And surprise, they didn't grant her it. It was only until after she went to work as a trainer (which they'd say she was doing them a favor) did they finally released her.

I don't think there is any significant dislike of Gail outside the internet crowd. I would bet that non-internet fans have no clue about the WWE departure issue and therefore are just glad to have her back.
As far as that goes, there was clearly bad judgement on both sides. WWE DOES handle the Divas poorly. Nobody denies that. Gail was in a particularly tough spot. However, its never good to change the script on the fly.
Also, as far as Gail's ability relative to other women wrestlers-I'd bet again that most non-internet fans would put her in the top 10 in the US, maybe top 5. And in reference to this:
There are almost NO non-internet US fans who have any idea who these people are. I'm a fairly savvy wrestling fan and I don't know who they are. And remember this: Gail is not only the 1st TNA KO champ, she was also hired by the WWE after that with a raise over what TNA was paying her. They obviously recognized some value in her.
To be fair to the poster who wrote the above quote, I'm sure those ladies are talented. The Japanese style demands that. But Japanese wrestlers who never come to the US have no TV name recognition here. They really can't be compared to any even mid-level US wrestler. Two entirely different businesses.

If things were going to change and she wasn't going to be used as something other than fodder for newbs she wouldn't have done what she did. Not saying she is innocent by any stretch but you are just too one-sided on this. She already had grievances and was put in an absolute joke of a match, she rebelled. Not saying she was professional but acting the E was not treating her well either.

She left the WWE on a bad note and with this long title reign it almost seems like she's getting awarded for it.

Gail didn't roll out on the battle royal her character did. However the person Gail Kim did marry a rich guy so she's achieved success in life.

IMO I think she did the right thing, She would have continued to not be used. Bitch move or not, It worked. Only in the sense that it made them stop using her at all until her contract ran out about a month later. She should've just waited for that and not re-signed.

My personal feeling is that internet-savvy wrestling fans(like us-those who follow sites such as this) do NOT constitute the majority of TNA's TV audience. However, I'll admit that the number is probably rising.
Also, I don't know of any way to objectively find out that kind of information. Anybody know if there's any way to calculate the % of the TV audience that is truly "internet-savvy"? Not just those who own a computer, but those who spend significant time on "insider" wrestling sites like this?
