What I don't get is this: Isn't Yoshi some sort of legit total badass who could literally beat down the entire roster? Why not repackage HIM as the unstoppable killing machine from Japan? If he can't talk good enough for a promo just give him Heyman. Keep him off tv (like he is ever on it anyway) for a bit and re-introduce him as having been summoned back to Japan by his "dojo" and being told he better succeed or something because he is dishonoring them. You could end up with Muta part II if done right. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO give THAT to the fat white guy. He was also the guy who legit knocked out Sheamus.

His size alone will prevent him from being taken seriously as a legit badass capable of taking down the whole roster. That, and WWE never caters to Japanophiles, unless you count the Tensai gimmick, and let's not forget how THAT one is going... So the idea of a jobber being told by his master to go kick ass is more the description for a midcard comedy character than a serious ass-kicker upper-midcard guy. Fans would buy into it as much as they're buying into A-Train being some Ninja who spits mist into his hand while wearing bright red undies and making a lot of pseudo-Japanese mannerisms.

Any size arguments I think can be taken away now with Punk and Bryan in their respective roles.

Any size arguments I think can be taken away now with Punk and Bryan in their respective roles. The difference being Bryan and Punk were never jobbers, much to their fanbase's chagrin. They were mid-card at their lowest, losing the occasional match to guys bigger than them. Yoshi is never featured on RAW or Smackdown, and when he is, it's on the receiving end of nearly offense void(from him) ass kickings. To suddenly start treating him as this badass who stiffs everyone and can 'legit knockout guys' would be laughable. As though he'd be able to knock out a Khali or Big Show with a kick, with the audience taking it seriously. The thing with Punk and Bryan is they're on a down to earth level where they win matches on psychology and being able to pick their spots. They aren't 'badasses who tear apart the roster.' That's why fans are picking up on their characters, they're more identifiable now.

Seen on r/squaredcircle
"Just have him turn on Laurinitis. "You said if I did this, I'd get my shot. You came up with this asinine, racist character. You came to me with it. You asked me to do this. What did I get out of it? Nothing! To hell with Tensai. My name is Albert. I worked my ass off in Japan to get as good as I am. I'm not going to keep disrespecting the Japanese people with this stupid costume.""

' Well there's no reason that Yoshi can't suddenly take a level in badass just for the sake of getting over with the fans. It's been done before to moderate success. You'd have to take the Alex Riley or Zack Ryder route (disregarding their current statuses). When Riley was with the Miz, he was arguably a bigger jobber than he is now, yet all of a sudden he beats two former World Champions so many times that they're forced to form a tag team. Said tag team ends up repeatedly on the receiving end of a flying teabag from Ryder, who's similar in size to Yoshi.

Well after watching Superstars just now the new Tensai is just so much easy and enjoyable to watch. He's not moving slowly, has good facial expressions and body movement. He came off as badass instead of a fatass.

He came off as badass instead of a fatass. It's reasons like this that for as enjoyable as Superstars is, it also pisses me off. Why not let people like him, like DrewMac, Tyson Kidd and Ted Junior show what they can do on the main shows they way they do on the internet shows? They bust out these amazing matches on Superstars and NXT, then turn around and get stuck "working" two minute matches on RAW and SmackDown, which leaves people who've never seen the internet shows to think that's all they can do. At the very least, they can bring Superstars back to television.
