I always liked Michael Hayes as Doc Hendrix. He fit right in with the corny-ness that was the new generation. I don't think Michael PS Hayes would've fit in. He was too associated with WCW and other Southern Promotions. The New Generation was VERY New York/Northeast oriented. And I actually really liked the Entertainment Tonight-style Action Zone he had with Todd Pettengill. I thnk i have said it before, i LOVED the New Generation, Dok was a part of my youth! I grew up in WAYYYYY northern NY so as a kid we only got Superstars and Maple Leaf Wrestling, cable was not an option so i had NO clue who Michael Hayes was.

I remember when he managed the Hardy Boyz. He did carry a cane looking back. I wondered why he had a cane in Wrestlemania 2000.

Dok looks in better shape in that one pic with the Hardys than he ever did in his career. These days he looks like a hot mess.

The "Dok Hendrix" character would have been cool if he was like Doc Brown and he was always inventing zany new contraptions that rarely worked, until finally he invents a working time machine.

He was named 'Dok Hendrix' as a tribute to 2 of his favorite musical acts- Dokken and Jimi Hendrix. I read that in an interview once. No joke.

Being from a family of NWA/WCW fans, I was stunned and confused when I saw the leader of the freakin' Freebirds looking and acting like this. I remember being so astonished, I showed my grandfather it and he just shook his head and looked like he died a little on the inside, being a long time Freebirds fan.

I'm pretty sure Vince had only discovered Little Richard around 1994, so he was still a few years away from Jimi Hendrix by '95.
