Bigger than Rock, Cena, HHH, and Hart? Sure.
Bigger than Hogan? No.

Hogan is the biggest star in WWE/F history and it's really not even up for debate.

I'd say it's a close 3 way between Austin, Rock, and Hogan. The first name that comes to mind is Austin, but Hogan eclipses him in some ways. Not only has he stayed on top on 2 different occasions (mid 80's Hulkamania & late 90's nWo), he's been big for virtually his entire career

Hogan is who you think when you say wrestling unless your a kid then its Cena who is this generation Hogan.
Would it be safe to say that Austin is on the Hulksters Level ?

Austin and Hogan are RIGHT there, but, without adjusting for inflation, it's gotta be Austin.

I'd have to go with Hogan as the biggest ever.

Close second to Hogan; but Hogan's part of Americana.

As big as the current day WWE like to say that Austin and the Rock are the 2 Biggest Superstars in WWE History, it is telling that during the Attitude Era, WWE never got on a major broadcast (non-cable) network. NBC didn't even bring back Saturday Night's Main Event until the mid-2000's.
Until Austin or anyone else can top the ratings for The Main Event, then Hogan will always remain WWE's biggest star.

It's Hogan. If I say Stone Cold Steve Austin, it's about 50-50 that my friends will know who I mean, and even then it's vague... "Oh... he was a wrestler or something, right?". If I say Hulk Hogan, EVERYONE knows who I mean, could recognize him if they saw him, know a catchphrase or two, etc.

Exactly. Wrestling during the Monday Night Wars was just a really large niche (which is why it fizzled out so quickly). In Hogan's era, wrestling was mainstream in a way it hadn't been since the 50's. Piccolo, I'd be willing to bet that your friends would remember Koko B Ware than they would Austin.
