Meanwhile in Cleveland, Guns N' Myles has people asking "Axl who?" honestly, ive never been a fan of Myles and his overly pitchy clean vocals he brings to the table. I am still amused that nobody on that stage had any part of the formation of the band. nor did they have any say in the name of the band...it would have been cool to have Axl and Izzy show but i know that Izzy wouldnt have done it without Axl. while they sounded great musically last night. i think it would have been equally as cool if Axl and Izzy did an acoustic set together as the two founders of the group. still find it hilarious though that Rob Trujillo and Josh Klinghoffer got to be inducted to the rock n' roll hall of fame while the hall said which members of gnr got in. also, *reads izzy's letter* BAH IZZY IS AN ASSHOLE AND NEEDS TO GET OVER IT!!! HE WANTS IT ALL ABOUT HIM SO HE WONT SHOW BLAH BLAH BLAH!! i mean...we can get on Axl's case right? why not hang Izzy from the same rope? also...John Frusciante is an asshole too for not showing up, since it wouldnt be a "john bj fest" he didnt go!! what an ass! I couldn't listen to Myles exclusively or anything, but his vocal style is unique and instantly recgonizable.

Ok hold on...from that story right now, yes Axl has an attitude but it sounded like Slash was the baby when that happened in 98 yeah I have to say that if that's what it is, then Slash comes off to me as the bad one. I'd fire Steven Adler over that too.

also classy move by Perla (slash's wife) who was trolling Axl's twitter page last night with various tweets about the hall of fame. a few of my favorites
"@axlrose nice to hear a real singer sing for guns n' roses!"
"@axlrose more like G without R"
"@axlrose and the rest of 'fake guns' should watch on tv and see how gnr should be!"
seems she deleted them now thankfully. she did get into with a few twitter people though. which leads to my favorite tweet ever
"big men out there, tell me these things when Slash is going to the bank!"

This is all pretty hilarious.
Say what you will about whether or not what Axl did was a dick move - I for one am on Axl's side for one reason only; if someone tried to force me back into a room with a load of people I hated just because they liked some records we made, I'd tell them to f*** off too; regardless of whether I was in the right for hating those people - but I think it's a whole lot dumber to get someone else to sing for them instead of Axl.
Seriously, that's hilarious. 'We couldn't get the 'classic' lineup which wasn't the original one anyway, but here's... some guys who were in the band at some point! And a guy singing who has absolutely nothing to do with any of it!'

also, *reads izzy's letter* BAH IZZY IS AN ASSHOLE AND NEEDS TO GET OVER IT!!! HE WANTS IT ALL ABOUT HIM SO HE WONT SHOW BLAH BLAH BLAH!! i mean...we can get on Axl's case right? why not hang Izzy from the same rope? Because Izzy's letter was short, sweet and didn't drone on about petty stuff? Because Izzy doesn't have a history of actions that come across as self centered, ego maniacal and moody? Because Izzy's pretty much always shunned any kind of attention and spot light? Because Izzy doesn't always make things about him? Personally, I don't care about Axl's letter. I didn't like it, I didn't hate it. I nothing it. And if he didn't want to be there, then I didn't want him to go. He wasn't comfortable for his own reasons and whether or not any of us agree with him isn't important. He doesn't have to do anything he doesn't want to. But to compare Izzy's behavior and letter to Axl's (and the resulting reactions) to make a point is reaching.

Am I the only one who read the title as "Ax declines HOF" and thought Demolition will never get in now?

Didn't Green Day Induct them? WTF was that about? I could be totally wrong, but I believe the band gets to choose who inducts them. I recall Led Zeppelin asking Aerosmith to induct them and Joe Perry agreed on the condition of being taught how to play the Immigrant Song.

In the past they usually made sense as there was generally a connection. Now I'm not sure who should have inducted them, but Alice Cooper would have at least been a connection, or Riki Rachtman even

You are literally the only person I've ever heard that version of events from. Slash and Duff didn't even say it in their books and it's not in Izzy's personality to behave that way whatsoever. It's his personality to keep quiet and when he's sick of it, leave. All he did was chill with the guys and play and end it when they got serious about a lead singer because he doesn't want to deal with another one - because of AXL'S behavior. He suggested him and Duff sing as an idea but when Slash wanted something else, he was like "cool, whatever." That's not exactly a hissy fit. Also, letting your band know you're leaving the band but a) finishing out the current leg of the tour and b) filling in for your replacement at the last second with no problems isn't exactly unprofessional at all. Unprofessional is starting your shows 3 hours late making fans, crew and the rest of your band wait. Unprofessional is throwing a fit and canceling a concert mid show because something irked you, causing a riot. Unprofessional is not sucking it up and playing a longer set when the lead singer of the other band you're on tour with gets burned by pyro and needs to be rushed to the hospital. You'll note, Izzy isn't the one who did any of these things, Axl is. I know you support Axl, which is awesome. I don't have anything against Axl's current musical endeavors. But to try to make it like IZZY, of all people, is on some sort of behavioral level as Axl just isn't true.

i really wasnt saying Izzy is on the same level as Axl im just saying that Izzy at times has had some questionable moments too. dosent change how much i love Axl, Izzy and the rest of Gn'R's family. and i still think that if it were more comfortable for Axl a straight Acoustic set with him and Izzy would have been really cool for the gnr performance at the rock hall. kinda to bring original gnr full circle, just Axl and Izzy jamming together acoustically. but i could see how people would complain about that too.
anyway, Axl just posted this on twitter..
"To: Cleveland, Ohio, Guns N' Roses Fans and everyone who's shown support for my decision regarding the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
I seriously didn't plan on or expect the overwhelmingly positive response and public support for my decision regarding the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. With such a generous outpouring of solidarity from fans, media outlets, writers and other artists, I'm truly humbled, blown away and unbelievably relieved! To be honest, I thought it would go the other way and was just hoping to weather the storm. As I said, I sincerely didn't want to disappoint anyone. It gets old being the outlaw even if "it's only rock and roll".
It took a lot of focus and soul searching to be sincere and informative while making a genuine effort to be somewhat diplomatic. We made, what I feel, are real efforts to learn about the Hall and the Board, spoke as I said with the president and various members, and though I inducted Elton John and Bernie Taupin in '94 saying something to the effect of "I'm learning what the Hall's about..."
I still don't exactly know or understand what the Hall is or how or why it makes money, where the money goes, who chooses the voters and why anyone or this board decides who, out of all the artists in the world that have contributed to this genre, officially "rock" enough to be in the Hall?
This isn't an attack. These are genuine issues I don't have enough verified information on to have more than rough ideas. Certainly not enough information to make any judgments about.
I would like to apologize to Cleveland, Ohio for not apologizing to them beforehand for not attending [the ceremony] in their city. I think they know how much I genuinely love performing there. Cleveland does in fact Rock!!
Now that the smoke's cleared a little, any desperate, misguided attacks have been just that, a pathetic stab at gossip, some lame vindictiveness, the usual entitlement crap, he's obsessed, crazy, volatile, a hater. I once bought a homeless woman a slice of pizza who yelled at me she wanted soup. We got her the soup. You can get your own.
Again: HUGE thanks to the fans and to everyone for the incredible public support. My congratulations to the other artists inducted. And my apologies to the city and people of Cleveland, Ohio. I hope you'll forgive me and we hope to see you again soon!
Keep Rockin',
Axl
Unlike my open letter to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, Guns N' Roses Fans and Whom It May Concern this was written for GNR's official website, Facebook account and my personal twitter account and not intended as a press release. If anyone does choose to pick this up as has been done previously I'd appreciate if you'd run in full including this paragraph so as not to give a partial picture, have things taken out of context or to imply or inadvertently give the impression this was intended for other outlets.
Thanks in advance. Peace-"

We'll just agree to disgaree re: Izzy's behavior. Ideally, they all would have shown up and they all would have played together but honestly, who actually thought that was going to happen?
