Read ASM #700, s*** was cool. THe whining over what is going to be a tempporary fun sotry in Superior is hilarious. I think the story's an interesting idea, it's the $8 I'm whining about. I just bought the latest Walking Dead TPB for that much.

The eight bucks, and them 'ending' the flagship title is what I would be whining about.

The $8 is fine, it's an extra large issue so the raised price is fine, and the main title is only ending during the Superior run. ASM will be back after it's done. Nothing to whine about.

And we disagree. It's not fine. Eight bucks, extra large or not, is too damn much to charge for a comic book. They wonder why say kids or new readers don't pick up the hobby, that's a huge reason why. They've priced themselves out of anything feasible. Four bucks is too much for a regular issue as well, and double that, double the content or not, is ridiculous. And the second point is why ending Amazing is so stupid. Of course it's a gimmick, everyone knows that, so "ending" the run of what has been your flagship character is meaningless and unnecessary. You've got a different take on it, I get that, but from my POV, both of those are huge turn-offs to an industry I still love, but rarely gets any more of my money; and it's because of things like this.

Eh, it's a one off. It's not like it's $8 every other week, it's usually just the $8 a month. They could slash the prices of the books, but then they'd have to slash other things. Unlike DC, they dont have the security of a parent company who dont care much about their bottom line. Marvel was sold as a company expected to create a certain amount of profit, selling the books, for the majority, at $4 a pop is how they do that. Warner dont care so much about DC's profits, hence how they can get away with only, on the whole, charging $3. Everyone dislikes paying high prices, but that's the reality of the situation if you want to get floppies over trade waiting. It's that or they pay the 'creators' less. As for the renumbering, how many times has that happened in the past decade alone? It eventually reverts back, after they've finished the latest drive for new readers.

She should tell them where to go and move to Marvel. If she can keep forgiving DC for the crap they pile on her, I'm sure by now she can forgive the issues she had when she last worked for them.....

and yet we can't get DC to let her continue Secret Six it wouldn't even need much work, it'd just involve stealing a character from Suicide Squad, and nobody cares about that book anyway. all in all good for Gail. firing her was stupid in the first place and really makes me question whether DC has any long-term plans for any of their books because shit like this (and the constant creator shifts on other books) really makes me think they went into the New 52 with no plan and are just making it up as they go along.

Maybe she should take that as a wake up call and actually write a good book.

Maybe she should take that as a wake up call and actually write a good book. This should be a wake up call to DC, "GET MORE FEMALE WRITERS". All they have are Gail Simone & Ann Nocenti, Gail Simone CAN do great stuff but Nocenti is abysmal. She's ruined 2 books in Green Arrow & Catwoman.

Man I feel trolled Copping this the cecond it's out. What's going on here? It's a anniversary variant cover feat. Generation X by Chris Bachalo (GenX's original artist). I'm curious to see if they're doing this (current artists "reuniting" with their major works of the past) for other books.... Bagley/Spidey, Kubert/Wolverine, JR Jr/Daredevil, etc maybe?

According to that little logo on the cover, it's the X-Men's 50th anniversary, so maybe we'll get similar variants for other artists associated with major X-Books of the past.

Contracts be damned, there needs to be a Jim Lee cover somewhere this year.

I did something today I haven't done in a long time, I bought a Marvel book (Or Trade if you prefer)
I got "Journey into mystery Vol 1", Just a quick question
I've read Thor (JMS & Gillen but not fraction) but haven't read either Siege or Fear Itself.......Should I be OK with JITM?

If the trade includes the set up text page from the first JiM issue, then yes.
If not, all you need to know really is that following the events of Siege, Loki was thought dead, but turned up in the body of a child, but with an equally child like quality, begging the question in the regards is this just Loki de-aged, or something else?
And then you get hooked and read them all because, IMO, it's one of the best runs by any writer on any book in at least the last two decades
